I finished this movie but this movie never left me.... I had to buy it and I watch it over and over again and each time i do i capture more .... the music is also over the top amazing!
I can't put into words how strongly I feel about this movie. Its so true and sincere and warm. I just watch this everyday and drink and drink and drink...
There was a period where I drank every day for months and watched this daily, too. No movie captures addiction quite as well as this movie. The whole movie sums up the FEELING of addiction.
+Jack Jameson My late husband of 20 yrs was a narcotics abuser. I see our marriage in this movie. But having identified why I am drawn like a moth to a flame, I have begun to heal from how sick I was in co- dependant behavior. During my recovery, I distance myself from people. (probably TMI )
I realised whilst hearing this and watching the movie that it’s similar to the piano instrumental in Bad Santa. In fact Bad Santa is a similar theme, and possibly this movie was the inspiration.
I don't understand why Nicholas Cage is not the roles that he once did. This guy is a phenomenal actor ! Everything about this flick was extroradinary except the rape scene, and I am particularly glad that they edited most of that. Otherwise it was good seeing those actors as they once were. The 90s were the last of good movies: FALLEN, 8 mm , Urban legend, I know what you did [...], etc. I miss the 90s too. I was still rather young 😄!
Dec. gyrrl I was born after 1990s, and I like this film too, haha. I like this kind of films. Another similar film, Detachment in 2011, which is my favourite film.
Came here for the music from this movie. Lovely choice, thanks for this. Wanted to touch on the closing theme, My One And Only Love. Coltrane and Hartman do it great, as in the movie was good, but here is a version by my all time favorite Ella Fitzgerald. Her voice is easy to pick out anytime because not only is it lovely, but one can understand each word. th-cam.com/video/RKTc23C-3WI/w-d-xo.html

People think I'm insane when I tell them this movie makes me feel happy...and I feel sorry for them for not getting it.
As Roger Ebert put it: It's about both hope and despair
God, what an INCREDIBLE MOVIE.
Agreed
I'm pretty sure God has his own opinion. He doesn't need yours.

Well deserved Oscar for cage.
Yes, indeed, Cage slayed his role, perfect. I would've also liked to have seen Shue win for best actress.
Pity about the actress though. She was solid
This piece for so reason is so very touching, glad to know many others out there feel the same.
Fantastic acting, amazing soundtrack, so real...it's been one of my favs since it came out 95ish.
Great music from an amazing, well-acted, compelling movie!

You're like some sort of antidote that mixes with the liquor and keeps me in balance.

One of my favourite movies. Also, it revealed a new brilliant actress for me - Elisabeth Shue. I fell for her. My one and only love ...
RIP Yuri
best film of 95 and the best performance by cage.
Krásná melodie ,bohužel krátká asi jak,život sám.
Why can't all Nicolas Cage movies be like this one? Maybe he would get some respect then
Superbe
Lovely romantic movie...... Does anybody know the title of the initial piano theme ?
HOMOBALEARICUS1 I think is Mozart
I don't know why but it reminds me of lara's theme from doctor zhivago
