    Finally ! A useful video on the DJI Action 2 remote control. I was waiting the 30 seconds for the remote controller to connect to the camera. LOL Ah just pressure the red dot. Thanks!

    I agree, a motorcycle, bicycle etc handlebar mount for the remote can be an invaluable accessory when it comes to controlling 2 or more cameras. It would be very cool to sync recording for front, rear and POV cameras. Thanks for the meticulous review!

      Got both the Action 3 and the Remote Control. Both arrived today but found it did not have the magnetic quick connector, so have ordered that. Was amazed at how quickly it connected and how far away I could still control the camera.

      It's a handy bit of kit! I'm waiting for the DJI Mic, which will also start/stop capture via a button on the transmitter.....

    Excellent review--thanks! Very disappointed the remote is not IP65. An action cam not designed to be used in the rain?

    Nice review - tells you everything you need to know. I have the remote control extension rod. To prevent losing the tiny remote control pad I have tried connecting a wrist attachment - with the thinnest loop I could find. However, it was then impossible to get the remote controller to fit back into the handle because of the very snug fit. Shame because I can see me dropping the little pad accidentally and never finding it again. Perhaps I should paint the remote a bright yellow!

      Have you lost it yet?
      A little bit of double sided sticky tape on the rod. you can get clear tape that will make it look better.

    if you use a Hand Wrist Strap Lanyard on the small control you can't push it back into the Extension Rod as the Lanyard is in the way.

    they missed the boat with this if you were using it over the crowds heads you no way of seeing what on the screen, yet we can use your mobile, the pocket style extensions with the ability to hold your mobile near the handle so you can see whats going on.
    The PGYTECH Action Camera Extension Pole Tripod Plus,makes a better blogging and general tripod holding your mobile for control.

    • @iftibashir
      @iftibashir  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It would be good if DJI made an extension cable of sorts - so you can mount the display module a length away from the main camera module. I cant see this being too difficult to produce either!.....

    so You say'ing One Remote can control up to 8 CAMERAS ???? also it will be able to change settings over 8 cameras ? P.s. well I am planing to use 2 cameras with one remote

    • @iftibashir
      @iftibashir  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes it can be used with up to 8 cameras, but not to change settings etc, just to start and stop capture. In effect your are synchronising the recordings across cameras by starting and stopping capture at the same time across all units.

    Why could DJI provide firmware for webcam functionality on the DJI Osmo Action 2 but not the FIRST DJI Osmo Action? What about the consumers who already have the first DJI Osmo Action? I believe it would be possible since they already managed to put the webcam function in the Action 2. Come on DJI, why you gotta do your consumers dirty! We’ve been waiting 2 WHOLE YEARS.

    Insta360 Go2 or Action 2 which one you suggest to go for?

    • @iftibashir
      @iftibashir  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Personally I always pick up the GO2, but it really depends on what you want to use the camera for.....

  • @dirkbaumann9398
    @dirkbaumann9398 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Nice review. I can not see the positive aspect of the DJI action 2 because the module to view what you are filming is facing
    the front. To see what I am filming I would want the screen facing me and the camera facing the front. Am I missing
    something ? I don't have a cell phone either.

    • @iftibashir
      @iftibashir  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      The camera module has a screen behind it, so with the module attached you have two screens - one facing back as normal, and one facing forwards for selfie shooting.

    Bez sensu że górny przycisk sugeruje tzw. możliwości np. zoom. To mógłby być zwykły przycisk bo nic nie daje! Tylko przełączenie pomiędzy trybami nagrywania. W goopro można włączyć i wyłączyć kamerę a tu tylko sam pilot : ( chociaż jest zdalny (ale to mamy w aplikacji) to jednak "kijek" nie ładuje kamery jak Volta z GoPro : (

    Mine has arrived - and I love it - but...
    - It's a great pity a cold shoe wasn't moulded into the side of it to accept accessories such as a mic.
    - When attaching a 3rd party cold shoe between the tripod and the camera, the little locking pins get in the way of the cold shoe (which of course doesn't have the necessary sockets). It's a pity the pins don't retract. I'll have to improvise some kind of pad between the cold shoe and the tripod into which those pins can push.
    - The remote control is designed to handle up to 8 cameras, but I suspect the number of users who will use that will be miniscule. However, when you turn on the remote, it starts hunting for extra cameras every time. When it finds the first one, a figure 1 appears on the display, and unless you then press the red button to stop the hunt, it will continue for 30 seconds. No big deal, but perhaps the button on the side should have been devoted to multi-camera use, rather than the device defaulting to expect multi cameras, which as I said will almost never be present.
    - The lanyard attachment holes are so placed that you can't put the remote into the tripod if you have a lanyard attached.
    Plus point - I could imagine using a bit of sticky putty to attach the remote to a car steering wheel, and then you attach the camera in the car out of reach somewhere, and you could control the camera from the steering wheel as desired. I'm sure many other such scenarios could be dreamed up. Given that many users are finding that the Mimo app no longer works with the Action 2, this way of having at least a degree of remote control is very welcome.
    Wish list - I wonder whether a firmware upgrade could enable the remote to work with the Pocket 2 as well? Yes, I tried it and no, it doesn't pair.

      your have the hot shoes if your action is in a cage.

    • @Ozpeter
      @Ozpeter 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@jnrmack For a mike with a dead cat attached, cage shoes are too close to the camera - the mic gets in the picture. Something lower down is required - which can be improvised but it's not very neat, usually.

    • @jnrmack
      @jnrmack 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Ozpeter will depend on the cage you buy. ,but i don'understand why they not brought out a receiver and battery unit and the pocket 2 mic.

    • @Ozpeter
      @Ozpeter 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@jnrmack Probably because they want to sell their dual mic / receiver system which has a USB-C output for the Action 2 and fits onto the side of it. But it's not cheap.

    They could have made grip as a power bank. DJI intentionally not doing that while the GoPro does.

    • @burnhard.
      @burnhard. 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Me too. And low battery life. Combined with not being waterproof, and also the failed option to have the cameras on in a low power consumption state.
