The 3 position selector switch on the 845 is EXTREMELY useful for... position 1- light touch fastening that would normally be done by hand, position 2 - re-installing HVAC covers without stripping out the holes, position 3- turning anything large with the most torque and speed possible.
Actually no, torque isn't that important at all....most people use these for driving screws/lags, so how quickly it can do that is more important than maximum torque levels. I don't care if one has 50ft-lbs and the other 300ft-lbs if the 300ft-lbs one takes five times longer than the lower torque one to do the job I'm trying to do. LoL I also don't have any way of measuring torque accurately for these :)
@@SomeGuysGarage these impact drivers are more and more used as drills as well. So drilling holes as well screwing is part of their job. I want a tool that'll carry out the work for me not me using my muscles. I'm not that strong thus torque is more important for me. I can sacrifice a nano second for more torque. The tool should be doing the work (heavy lifting), not me.
@@Do_not_assume both with drilling and driving screws, torque isn't that important with these. For nuts/bolts that's where it would be, but as mentioned, I don't have the equipment to measure that.... @torquetestchannel here on youtube has that info though :) they're the best!
How can you afford to get so many dewalt Impact drivers. Also, it's crazy that they make so many models I would much prefer it if it was straightforward With only a couple models. I feel they should easily be able to get away with only three or four models total.
I'm good at shopping the sales and the little bit of youtube money helps lol I agree, there's a lot of models, and they don't seem to discontinue models quickly, you can still buy 887's which have been out for like 10 years lol

You can do the same with trigger control, but it does make it slightly easier in some cases.
Great and informative review. Nice job.
Thanks again :)
What's the difference in torque?
one of the most important specs, don't you think?

@@SomeGuysGarage Torque is actually very very important.
