    Glad you got a 40kWh pack. Love to see you implementing a cooling system. Perhaps the existing Leafers can adapt it for daily use to improve battery longevity.

    Aha! There it is! Quite logical that you chose Leaf batteries, I guess. And very exciting that you were able to get a 40kWh! 👏👍🏼
    Good luck!

      Thanks. I hadn't even considered this pack before as I hadn't seen one for sale in the time I had been looking, so I had to jump on it when I saw the as.

    Do you think you could give us some rough dimensions of the packs mounting points where it attaches to the body of the nissan leaf? Thank you for making these videos

    Hey fella - looks great. We use a reciprocating saw to break the seal on the case lids. That way the lip doesn’t get bent out of shape. What kind of cost was the 40kwh pack?

    • @PerformanceEV
      @PerformanceEV  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks. Yeah, more and more I am getting the impression I need to add a reciprocating saw to my tool box. I ended up paying £125 per kWh, which is pretty much in line with best price for used batteries that I can get my hands on here in the UK. I know some people seem to be able to get them cheaper, but I've never been able to find them for less, and definitely not in this condition.

    Where did you buy old battery? I also need one for my Leaf to upgrade...

    • @PerformanceEV
      @PerformanceEV  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I got it on eBay, it actually came from the same vehicle dismantlers that I got the leaf drive unit from 12 months earlier. I've only seen one come up on eBay since then, so they are still a bit rare unfortunately.

    Anyone have or know where to get 40kwh cells or a whole pack in the US?

    I am sure you are aware that the battery packs from some Nissan e-NV200 are connected to the aircon pipes and blow cooled air mostly towards the electronics. I want to replace all the pouches in my e-NV200 with 60Ah pouches in a 96S4P configuration, so 90kwh! Same electronics but in a new box, with new pouches! Will sourcing a 40 kWh BMS give me an advantage, and how do you circumvent the BMS change disabling the car due to serial no mismatch fault code P3102? Has anyone done this kind of scheme, and if so, any links would be great

    How expensive are a 40 Kwh used Leaf pack ?
    Can think alot of 2012-2014 Leaf owners want one to upgrade it to a bigger one if its possible to switch it out.

    Looks like a big heavy lump to have all at the back of the car but I guess the engine weighed a fair bit.

    • @PerformanceEV
      @PerformanceEV  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah, I would love to locate it elsewhere, but it's the logical space. And the engine was pretty heavy, so I don't think it will screw up the weight distribution too much.

  • @Jh0nnY2k
    @Jh0nnY2k 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    You'll have to think of the weight distribution. Don't think you will be able to put them all in the back.

    • @PerformanceEV

      Yeah, it's going to be an interesting game of Tetris to try to fit the pack in the best suitable place(s)

      😄 yeah, I would love it if this type of project became the LS Swap for the '20s.
