As a jungle main, it can be frustrating to have the enemy team rotate every time the enemy jungle spots you, and yours are just farming. I don't think farm, don't roam was the lesson here. There is certainly a time to roam, and there are certainly exceptions to the crash your wave first rule. You're most likely not a challenger player, and sometimes it makes sense to when in Rome do as the Romans do.
Hector feels like a hitman for league. "We are sending you in again. Gold Elo. We know you wanted the quiet life...but the pay is good. In and out. Leave no witnesses."
They are literally so much better than someone saying "do this, do that". They do test us to see if we are really correct at decision making/macro during the game. Since I've started watching Skill Cap, my performance in game was way better than before! For real, these guys know what they are doing. Thanks Skill Cap. I would like to see more of these types of vids so then I can improve my performance!
@@solomonkahn713 I Only played 1 ranked since I started watching them. I recommend trying out a lot of draft modes first before going into climbing. Test your skills, learn from your teammates how the game progresses. As I kept playing, I noticed that on average, 7 to 10 games I get at least 1 teammate who's really bad, has no mechanic, or ints/blames the others for his own mistake. So when that happens, you can't rely on that exact teammate since the beggining. Train a lot depending on which lane you are, if you are on sides, test your minion wave control and on jungle, which in my opinion, is the hardest role of the game, you have to pay a lot of attention to how your teammates behave and the timers of your jungle monsters' respawn after killing them. Anyways, train hard, my objective is to get at least 200 hundred games on normals, then study for a little bit what I did well and what I did wrong, and finally, after all that, get to ranked.
This is definitely one of the better videos that I've seen from educational content creators. Very upfront and honest. "There is no secret trick to win when you are behind. All you can do is play off your opponents mistakes." You guys don't seem to be selling anything that ism't going to be true, and I respect that deeply.

Honestly, skillcapped people are my heroes. When i played WoW these guys are the ones that thaught me how to play properly and managed to be high ranked in arena (private server but oh well) and now they are once again carrying me in LoL hahaha. Damn you guys are awesome

This guy does the same kind of chalenge and, on this video he kind of does (he didn't give kill in this one though but manage to be creative in a stuck situation). To have an idea of the situation, you can see the state of his mates at 18:24.
Hector has both summs and the enemy jungler is Trundle. The only place he could die is after he flashes under tower, in which case it's a 1 for 1. On the second kill when he has summs on cooldown, he's level 6 while vlad (and presumably Trundle) is 5, so he can easily 1v2 if Trundle shows up. He doesn't even have to use ult to kill vlad and is still high HP after the kill.

I watch all 3 big league TH-cam channels, Proguides, Mobalytics, and Skill Capped. I definitely learn the most from Skill Capped. They break down gameplay so well. I will definitely sub in the future when I can afford it!
You can't image how good your content is!! I watch EVERY. SINGLE. VIDEO. And every time I find out something new. Despite the fact, that I'm playing League since season 3. My elo is p2 at the moment and everytime you reveal some trick, I amaze how blind I was.
Dear Skill Capped, This is not a request. This is a letter of gratitude for even the limited content put out here on TH-cam. These occasional test videos are definitely helpful and interactive and give a little pause to think, reflect, or sometimes simply admit that you don't know, preparing yourself for the answer. After multiple 0/2s from Hector, especially in the Cass vs Vlad game, you asked us, "what should Hector do next?" The lesson that came is one I will surely hold on to, because how can one carry when already behind like this? I didn't know the answer. The lesson is, you don't. I used to be hard stuck low gold but after watching their video on wave management I made it to plat, helping my ADC to manage his wave as a support. This kind of content is really 11/10.

Skill cap is an angel in disguise for those people who wants to climb. Giving lessons for free is such a huge help for people like me who used to be stuck in low elo. I went from gold IV to plat 1 in a month and a half from these videos

Ive noticed that i do tent to get emotionally invested in games when im behind, like "i HAVE to come back" or "i HAVE to prove that im not bad" or something, but that just usually leads to me feeding more and making the game even harder. One or two deaths does not equal game over in most elos. Many deaths over the course of many minutes does.

Just to add my grain of salt, vladimir is a champion that is really easy to bully on lower elo. He might seem scary due to his constante healing but the fact is that you exactly know his Q cooldown by watching the bar under his hp. In this case(first kill) just wait for him to waste his 'critical' transfusion on a minion and all in. You either get the kill or shred his hp so much he will recall. If he doesnt recall, he is dead/cant farm because the wave is frozen on cassio's side and you close the gold gap that way, if he comes close to the wave, fuck him up. Playing around cooldowns is key, which wasnt said at the start of this video it seems (i'm just halfway through, i'm not blaming or anything, just saying what i think, correct me if i am wrong, i'm not a robot). That said, I find your videos really interresting to watch just to broaden one's gamesense even tho midlane might not be my mainrole, and I recommend them to one of my friends I finally convinced to play the game. Thanks for the work.

These channel and listening to what LS said thought me that this game is just about being smart and tilt proof rather than being a 1v9 mechanical God. Some champions will get you that slight edge in some games, but to get over the 50% wr is to actually be smart and understand the game. And that is just insane if you think about it... Its like playing chess (especially if you are a jungler)
3:15 Shouldn't Vladimir shove the wave under turret before recalling? If yes, how could he do it since he was threatened by the Cassiopeia and did get killed? Because if he doesn't shove under turret, Cassio could still freeze, right?
There's a thing in this video abot shoving waves (you don't assess the difficulty to do so): _Indeed Sylas should have done it since he still had lots of mana (not always the case with Sylas); _However, I'm pretty sure Vlad tried it but failed (due to him being Vlad) and got stuck in lane with 1st item. That made me think. Finding the answer to your quizz is ok, but it took me less time to find why I would have done the same misstake at time, and more time to find when I shouldn't.
There is one more thing on the last game actually. It all changes if you are playing against a 5 premade team. That sylas gets behind but now you no longer have a bot lane and that bot lane dominates the game by destroying bot tower then roaming to mid. So it is not as simple as saying push before you roam. Sometimes you have a less carrying potential than your teammates so you sacrifice yourself in order to make them fed. I play flex and I experience this so often. (Diamond 2 elo)
For me the lessons are: Even if you roam after shoving the wave, don't spend too much time. Spam pings so people may notice it. Mute everyone from the start if you play lower than your real elo, especially if you have better game knowledge than your teammates. Keep learning/practicing.
for sure... in low elo on adc i just freeze and let the enemies int. if they dont int they roam and then you shove and base. after a few minutes youre a full item up on their adc and the games just over

7:05 HERE! HERE! **Raises Hand** I have a question!! I have a question here! When Graves freezes lane here, does he just recall immediately instead of getting the cs in the freeze? Wouldn't the lane push back due to that rule where if minions are closer to one side, it'll push to the other? Meaning, the wave would push back from that frozen state back towards Hector's tower, giving Hector control again by the time Graves gets back? Edit: Now that I think about it, since the minion waves only just got there, that's what gives Graves the time to recall. Meaning even if there's another minion wave to spawn, it'll be late enough that the freeze will continue? My question is basically, does Graves just recall immediately as the minion waves crash into each other at the freeze? Or does he cs at all? Just a little step-by-step elaboration so I don't misunderstand anything in that scenario would be godsend.
If he cs the wave he will either break the freeze or waste time so when he recalls the enemy is already near the lane and can easily break your freeze, I might be wrong tho.
What the Graves should do is tank/pull the wave so it freezes then immediately recall. The wave will stay in the same spot for that entire time because the enemy minion advantage isn't large enough at that point, and when he comes back to it he'll have a ton more minions to farm and will have denied a ton more. Even minion rule is even minion rule, if there's 3 more casters for the opponent it's not even.
I'm not too good at wave control, but I think this: First we freeze to denial a bunch of cs and xp to ryze , graves can do others things in this state this like deep warding , or cs, in the recall option graves lost a little cs but come back with item advantage because he is already ahead of ryze and when the two come back the lane will be in a state of freeze(probably they will be back with the second wave because a wave is already there), after that different things can happen again, graves can collect all cs and make and slow push or set a gank but if no one touch the wave probably it will apply the rule that you say or the wave will crash under graves tower , but this scenario it's not gonna happen probably never. Sorry if my English is bad
@@ijuka Ah right, those 3 extra minions makes it take longer for Graves' minions to kill the opposing wave. This lets the freeze stay in place despite Graves' next wave of minions arriving first.
playing nasus actually paid off,all of situations i knew what should be done and to say what should be done,ill give answer: 1st game vlad did not punish that minion with empowered Q and let himself get punished for minion,while having bad positioning and he did not acess his goals at all because if he knew cass needs good all-in to win trades,he would play entirely diffrent game of poking with Q's and warding pixel bushes so he can escape ganks quickly while scaling and making sure keep distance when he has no Q up 2nd game really went bad for graves because guy did not know wave and vision managment at all,and ovbiously way way too agressive in 1st place and one note is if you can force graves fight in wave and run around,you will make guy do 0 damage because his shotgun works that way 3rd game sylas went to a game of poker with his lead,did not prep wave by shoving it before roaming every single time which as we know,will cost him fortune because MINIONS ARE RELIABLE SOURCE OF GOLD AND XP REGARDLESS YOU WERE AHEAD OR NOT AND HE DID NOT ACCOUNT FOR THAT!!! throwing game by his own hand consistently
I didn’t even need to know the lane state during the Sylas game to know he wasn’t shoving before roaming. 29 cs to 60 when he supposed to be ahead is a no no
when the sylas roamed in 10:45 around what I think is, sylas didn't pushed completely the wave in order fizz to lose xp and when he comes (sylas) back to lane he will had a decent wave to farm himself idk I am gold 1 player xd correct me higher elo players ty :D (no ironically)
I played a game today as twisted fate and my game joined late and i was against katarina(im bronze) and i died 2 times in the begging and my team wanted to ff but i didnt and i played smart and won the game in the end just because i knew that kat was not really good at kat
I think the biggest problem is that 0-2 isn’t the kind of behind low elo has. It’s 0-8 or so to the point where there’s a massive level gap so even if they make a mistake, they’re too ahead to punish. People don’t know how to stop dying, they know they’re getting camped by the jg but keep pushing the lane without vision.
Play in a lower elo detach when losing and wait for a mistake that if you are in a high elo you could punish. So what should you do if you aren't in high elo playing in low elo?
Dear Skill Capped, in that scenario with Ryze, would he not be able to break the freeze easily? Ryze's waveclear is pretty good, and if Graves continued to try to maintain the freeze, he would have to stand in his own minion wave in order to damage Hector's, opening him up for easy Ryze E+Q's.
The sad thing is, in another game, someone on Hectors team could have started inting or gone afk, based on the fact that he wasn't following roams. Happened plenty of times to me.
he would carry anyway... the skill difference between challenger and gold is astronomical. when these guys make smurfs they rarely lose before diamond mmr. afks or inters dont bother them
Yeah, he should've just gone afk. But for real he needed to break the freeze and crash the wave, there are a few ways he could've done that the safest would've been to bait out Cassio q and then try to hard shove the wave or try to get his jungler to help him or just trade with Cassio without dying before she can tank/stack the minions thereby denying the freeze before it even starts. Those are all suboptimal options but better than just dying and being frozen on.

Bruh, this guy explained the mindset I mean he NAILED IT, you need to think that the game is no longer in your hands, but your oponent's. and because from platinum 1 and below people are mostly like that, its actually a healthy way to think about it because you dish out your anger and play the game with another approach that still doesnt involve being too emotional, and that's my fucking problem. Anyways great vid, i completely agree about emotionally detaching yourself from a game when youre behind. Ive noticed that i do tent to get emotionally invested in games when im behind, like "i HAVE to come back" or "i HAVE to prove that im not bad" or something, but that just usually leads to me feeding more and making the game even harder. One or two deaths does not equal game over in most elos. Many deaths over the course of many minutes does.

Just to add my grain of salt, vladimir is a champion that is really easy to bully on lower elo. He might seem scary due to his constante healing but the fact is that you exactly know his Q cooldown by watching the bar under his hp. In this case(first kill) just wait for him to waste his 'critical' transfusion on a minion and all in. You either get the kill or shred his hp so much he will recall. If he doesnt recall, he is dead/cant farm because the wave is frozen on cassio's side and you close the gold gap that way, if he comes close to the wave, fuck him up. Playing around cooldowns is key, which wasnt said at the start of this video it seems (i'm just halfway through, i'm not blaming or anything, just saying what i think, correct me if i am wrong, i'm not a robot). That said, I find your videos really interresting to watch just to broaden one's gamesense even tho midlane might not be my mainrole, and I recommend them to one of my friends I finally convinced to play the game. Thanks for the work.

These channel and listening to what LS said thought me that this game is just about being smart and tilt proof rather than being a 1v9 mechanical God. Some champions will get you that slight edge in some games, but to get over the 50% wr is to actually be smart and understand the game. And that is just insane if you think about it... Its like playing chess (especially if you are a jungler)

3:15 Shouldn't Vladimir shove the wave under turret before recalling? If yes, how could he do it since he was threatened by the Cassiopeia and did get killed? Because if he doesn't shove under turret, Cassio could still freeze, right?
No. Look at the wave at 1:00 it already was shoved into Hector's turret perfectly. He could easily have recalled then.

There's a thing in this video abot shoving waves (you don't assess the difficulty to do so):
_Indeed Sylas should have done it since he still had lots of mana (not always the case with Sylas);
_However, I'm pretty sure Vlad tried it but failed (due to him being Vlad) and got stuck in lane with 1st item.
That made me think. Finding the answer to your quizz is ok, but it took me less time to find why I would have done the same misstake at time, and more time to find when I shouldn't.

There is one more thing on the last game actually.
It all changes if you are playing against a 5 premade team. That sylas gets behind but now you no longer have a bot lane and that bot lane dominates the game by destroying bot tower then roaming to mid. So it is not as simple as saying push before you roam. Sometimes you have a less carrying potential than your teammates so you sacrifice yourself in order to make them fed. I play flex and I experience this so often. (Diamond 2 elo)
I really enjoyed the Hector commentary on trying to int without being super obvious about it
For me the lessons are:
Even if you roam after shoving the wave, don't spend too much time.
Spam pings so people may notice it.
Mute everyone from the start if you play lower than your real elo, especially if you have better game knowledge than your teammates.
Keep learning/practicing.
I cant stress out how important this wave management thing is!! My adc average kda went from 12/10 to 9/1. It's a HUGE advantage in low elo I swear
for sure... in low elo on adc i just freeze and let the enemies int. if they dont int they roam and then you shove and base. after a few minutes youre a full item up on their adc and the games just over

I have a question here! When Graves freezes lane here, does he just recall immediately instead of getting the cs in the freeze? Wouldn't the lane push back due to that rule where if minions are closer to one side, it'll push to the other? Meaning, the wave would push back from that frozen state back towards Hector's tower, giving Hector control again by the time Graves gets back?
Edit: Now that I think about it, since the minion waves only just got there, that's what gives Graves the time to recall. Meaning even if there's another minion wave to spawn, it'll be late enough that the freeze will continue?
My question is basically, does Graves just recall immediately as the minion waves crash into each other at the freeze? Or does he cs at all? Just a little step-by-step elaboration so I don't misunderstand anything in that scenario would be godsend.
If he cs the wave he will either break the freeze or waste time so when he recalls the enemy is already near the lane and can easily break your freeze, I might be wrong tho.
What the Graves should do is tank/pull the wave so it freezes then immediately recall. The wave will stay in the same spot for that entire time because the enemy minion advantage isn't large enough at that point, and when he comes back to it he'll have a ton more minions to farm and will have denied a ton more.
Even minion rule is even minion rule, if there's 3 more casters for the opponent it's not even.
I'm not too good at wave control, but I think this:
First we freeze to denial a bunch of cs and xp to ryze , graves can do others things in this state this like deep warding , or cs, in the recall option graves lost a little cs but come back with item advantage because he is already ahead of ryze and when the two come back the lane will be in a state of freeze(probably they will be back with the second wave because a wave is already there), after that different things can happen again, graves can collect all cs and make and slow push or set a gank but if no one touch the wave probably it will apply the rule that you say or the wave will crash under graves tower , but this scenario it's not gonna happen probably never. Sorry if my English is bad
@@ijuka Ah right, those 3 extra minions makes it take longer for Graves' minions to kill the opposing wave. This lets the freeze stay in place despite Graves' next wave of minions arriving first.
playing nasus actually paid off,all of situations i knew what should be done and to say what should be done,ill give answer:
1st game vlad did not punish that minion with empowered Q and let himself get punished for minion,while having bad positioning and he did not acess his goals at all because if he knew cass needs good all-in to win trades,he would play entirely diffrent game of poking with Q's and warding pixel bushes so he can escape ganks quickly while scaling and making sure keep distance when he has no Q up
2nd game really went bad for graves because guy did not know wave and vision managment at all,and ovbiously way way too agressive in 1st place and one note is if you can force graves fight in wave and run around,you will make guy do 0 damage because his shotgun works that way
3rd game sylas went to a game of poker with his lead,did not prep wave by shoving it before roaming every single time which as we know,will cost him fortune because MINIONS ARE RELIABLE SOURCE OF GOLD AND XP REGARDLESS YOU WERE AHEAD OR NOT AND HE DID NOT ACCOUNT FOR THAT!!! throwing game by his own hand consistently

when the sylas roamed in 10:45 around what I think is, sylas didn't pushed completely the wave in order fizz to lose xp and when he comes (sylas) back to lane he will had a decent wave to farm himself idk I am gold 1 player xd correct me higher elo players ty :D (no ironically)

I played a game today as twisted fate and my game joined late and i was against katarina(im bronze) and i died 2 times in the begging and my team wanted to ff but i didnt and i played smart and won the game in the end just because i knew that kat was not really good at kat
I think the biggest problem is that 0-2 isn’t the kind of behind low elo has. It’s 0-8 or so to the point where there’s a massive level gap so even if they make a mistake, they’re too ahead to punish. People don’t know how to stop dying, they know they’re getting camped by the jg but keep pushing the lane without vision.
Play in a lower elo detach when losing and wait for a mistake that if you are in a high elo you could punish. So what should you do if you aren't in high elo playing in low elo?
Dear Skill Capped, in that scenario with Ryze, would he not be able to break the freeze easily?
Ryze's waveclear is pretty good, and if Graves continued to try to maintain the freeze, he would have to stand in his own minion wave in order to damage Hector's, opening him up for easy Ryze E+Q's.
ryze couldnt walk up against graves when he recalled. By the time he is back he is behind in Exp and its not about about the waveclear itself.
About always pushing the wave before roaming doinb just prouved the oposite by sacrificing cs to make more roam and more kill potentiel

The sad thing is, in another game, someone on Hectors team could have started inting or gone afk, based on the fact that he wasn't following roams. Happened plenty of times to me.
he would carry anyway... the skill difference between challenger and gold is astronomical. when these guys make smurfs they rarely lose before diamond mmr. afks or inters dont bother them

Yeah, he should've just gone afk. But for real he needed to break the freeze and crash the wave, there are a few ways he could've done that the safest would've been to bait out Cassio q and then try to hard shove the wave or try to get his jungler to help him or just trade with Cassio without dying before she can tank/stack the minions thereby denying the freeze before it even starts. Those are all suboptimal options but better than just dying and being frozen on.
