Last year I was given a Kohler Pro 3.7 for free, because it didn't run. I did the normal maintenance, cleaned the carb, changed the air filter, and it runs like new. Only had 92 hours on the clock. The MSRP for those machines were $1,500 back in 2015, because they produce >5% THD. Interesting enough, even though it's a Honda clone and you can use generic parts, the Kohler OEM parts are of way higher quality than generic. They do go for a premium.
That's true. I ruined a go kart engine because I didn't think the foam filter needed oil. After a few weeks of my brother and I riding it all over our place it started to smoke. Dust and sand had scored the cylinder wall.
Nice refurb. Personally I've had bad experiences when using aftermarket carbs for small engine equipment. However, I've never used Hipa parts. Are they better quality than the junk from China?
@@troyyarbrough I’ve never had an issue with them, I buy diaphram carbs from them all the time for handheld 2 stroke equipment. Couldn’t be more satisfied
Not bad. Need to watch James Condon. Master at generators. Thanks
That is a volt meter i would reckon
I like your video 100% And you explain. On your generator. 100% : ))))

I'm pretty sure you meant
@@troyyarbrough Yes, you are correct. I noticed the error after I commented, but left it as is, since when you know, you know.
Chinese Honda clone generator easy carb replacement, wish all generator repairs were that easy.
Yeah this smaller ones have easy ones, all the big name whole house generators are a pain in the bottom to do
You need to put a light film of oil on the foam air filter or they don't work!!!!!!!!!!

Only power wash a generator if it is absolutely necessary, and if you do cover the stator and rotor with plastic, lost my share of stators that way.
Nice refurb.
