Quality vs. quantity . I agree 19 is steep, but if a Bodega is 9 bux, that sandwich is worth at least 12 to 15. The Bodega isn't using imported meats or homemade fresh mozzarella. There's nothing like a real Italian sandwich.
@@hydroggz 😂 Im probably older than you and definitely wiser for not to be paying that sort of money on a bit a bread, meat & sauce. If that is the going rate in NYC at a back street sandwich gaff. Then I dread to think what an evening meal for 2 costs. Right now some of the best foods are created at my home grown town in London at a more palatable price.
@Danny Ward because you guys can even comprehend what it's like here. Your the size of and smaller than some state as a country. Everything about NYC is expensive im not gunna go into detail why u should know that by now. If your planning yo go to NYC and be cheap your already too dumb to go
@@hydroggz 😂😂 we got pubs older than your country fella 😆 and they do cheaper better priced food & you get a beer 😉 we’re definitely not dumb over here but if your paying that kind of money for a sarni then there’s only one lot who are ? Anyways good chatting to you and thanks for the geography lesson 😂😂👏🏼
@Danny Ward and? your literally so oblivious to the point it's insane. You can get that high quality good meal for cheap here but that cost is because of the cost of living of that specific city. It's not nation wide. Funny how you guys always wanna clown on us but it's insane how uncultured you lot are. Google cost of living and why NYC is so high and maybe you can make sense of the rest.
.. and look at that beautiful vessel of bread... My favorite sandwich will always and forever be the Italian mix of *what's going on. The best 🤌💚🤍❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️💞 Ps, in hot sandwich form I'll go with the eggplant parm every day, so good. 😋
Go up to Anthony's in Mammaroneck and get the Godfather...I can eat on that sandwich for 2 days and it was 8.99 when I lived there...of course that was in 2010 prices
Okay, yes the are expensive but heres the move.... You? Buy the sandwich right? But then you get a couple more roles for like 70 cents apiece. And? A couple side things of toppings like hot peppers, etc. Then what you do is you take out like 3 slices of chicken, put them to the side, make your own separate sandwiches with the rolls you bought and the condiments you bought and you've turned a $21 investment into like 3 or 4 meals. That's my pro tip to you sir
I don’t think Italians stack the meat and cheese like this, it’s hard to bite. Just came back from Venice, the sandwich there was fantastic. The meat was rather laid curved, and the cheese was malted, the bread was toasted crispy and easily crumbled when between teeth. Are the sandwiches different from city to city this much?
I don't care how good they are.... they look small so definitely not worth $19-21 probably almost $50 for 2 sandwiches chips and sodas I could get 2 meals at Texas roadhouse for that
@Shawnthefoodsheep looks are deceiving then. I'm good tho not for that kind of money. I'd rather hit reading terminal market and hit Hershels $10 and get a 2lb pastrami or corned beef sandwich
$15 for a sub is about my limit and that's in California. I go to a local shop that gives you more meat than this, not trying to say these don't look amazing. My point is it's a tad overpriced, and they are making money off their legacy than actual value to the customer. As I said, I can get a bigger sandwich at Joes Buffet in the incredibly expensive Bay Area for about $11-12 after tax. This is twice that
The sandwiches are priced for New York so they’re gonna be outrageously priced. I’m from So-Cal and do not find the sandwiches here that great, but the pricing isn’t terrible, however, when I visited Nor-Cal, I was impressed with the food quality. You definitely got what you paid for at most of the places I got food from.
More random ingredients do not means good taste...we italians don't eat sandwich like those. Just few high quality ingredients. It is better to call them "american sandwiches"
I mean, you would be arrested for trying to sell those sandwiches in Italy, but yeah, whatever.... plus, pickles in a sandwich? That is about as Italian as borscht.
19$ its criminal!!! as a NYC native, this is why delis/bodegas took over. Sandwiches may not be as good but for 7-9$ they definitely hit.
Quality vs. quantity .
I agree 19 is steep, but if a Bodega is 9 bux, that sandwich is worth at least 12 to 15. The Bodega isn't using imported meats or homemade fresh mozzarella.
There's nothing like a real Italian sandwich.
These delis in NY (and Philly too) are why I can NEVER EVER eat at a Subway.
1000%
NYC maybe has 1 or 2 delis like this. NJ/Philly is far superior for sub sttyle
Sandwhiches
@miker6840 No. You should try: "The Bomb" over by Sal,Cris and Charlies in Astoria,Queens. The best sandwiches hands down!!
They looked good especially the italian special. Love the peppers on them.
as a species, sandwiches are our greatest accomplishment
I say this all the time
Chicken 🐔 Parm.... All Day (Dizzle) Long😊😅😊😅😊😅😊😅😊!....
$19 😳 that’s about £16/£17 a sandwich in the UK. Wow that is lumpy I’d never pay that way too much. Don’t even come with a drink & side.
Awh he's new to the world

I walked a mile just to get there after school. It was THE classic Italian sandwich
Those look delicious but $20 bucks USD for a sammy is the most insane thing I have seen this week.
it actually makes sense
Those prices are ridiculous!
Nyc son!
.. and look at that beautiful vessel of bread... My favorite sandwich will always and forever be the Italian mix of *what's going on. The best
🤌💚🤍❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️💞

20$ wtf thanks for showing places i’ll never go to 😂
@@JamesMeszaros-m3i 100% you're broke too
Absolutely 💯 Yummmies
I’m not even surprised at prices anymore.
I’m by a Jersey Mike’s. Their Italian is great but damn these look great. Prices are nuts but it’s New York so.
They wildin with them prices
Nothing beats NY Italian subs. People tripping bout the prices never been to Manhattan. You're gonna pay $5 for a Gatorade so🤷♂️
I want the Italian special sandwich 😋😋🤤🤤🤤🤤
"crunchy sesame seed bread", brother, where are you from? That looks like typical and delicious "semolina" bread.
Go to Lionis in Brooklyn!
The chicken looked a bit dry.. was it? Cuz at those prices it better be topnotch.
I love chicken parmigiana! ❤❤
Its SANGWEESH! how ya doin!?
Go to defontes Brooklyn!
Does the second best place have better prices?
The best Italian Sandwich is at the best sandwich shop in Italy itself. Al Antico Vinaio.
none of that cheese on that chicken parm looked melted. and I aint paying no 20 dollars for a damn sandwich...Im a NYer and approve of this message
Go up to Anthony's in Mammaroneck and get the Godfather...I can eat on that sandwich for 2 days and it was 8.99 when I lived there...of course that was in 2010 prices

I was born in NYC, but the best Italian deli sandwiches in America are New Orleans style muffaletta.
"melted mozzarella" brother that was still raw.
This is bad publicity for this place when people see the prices. You can get the equivalent for half the price.

This is a overrated NY style sandwich, same goes for the pizza here. It’s irritating when they call it Italian. That sandwich looked gray and nasty.
I don't care how good they are.... they look small so definitely not worth $19-21 probably almost $50 for 2 sandwiches chips and sodas
I could get 2 meals at Texas roadhouse for that
They were massive, it was basically 2 days of meals
@Shawnthefoodsheep looks are deceiving then. I'm good tho not for that kind of money. I'd rather hit reading terminal market and hit Hershels $10 and get a 2lb pastrami or corned beef sandwich
If you need chips and a soda with a sandwich this big then you’re probably obese
20 bucks??? hell naw catch me at jersey mikes instead for the same exact thing 😂
Go to the 1 in brooklyn..its better and a bit cheaper...get the sausage and rice balls with spinach
Thats what she said
Who named it the best in New York?
That is everything but Italian

20 dollar Italian deli sandwiches is totally insane. We have equally as good or better sandwiches in chicago and people would laugh at those prices
I-talian
Blowin up the spot
Yeah no.
Johns Deli: black roast beef
Mission Sanwich: Big Lucca
Sal, Kris, and Charlie’s deli.
We’re not going to talk about this again. Okay?
40$ for deli sandwiches be fr, shit is a joke, a million other delis in nyc
None as good as this one cheapskate
$20 “Ge the fug outta ere” 🤌🏽
come ahhhn
Lol that's not a chicken parm, it's veal parm (baby cow) still really good tho
I would never pay $21 for anything wrapped in grease paper
19 dollhores for a sandwich! NY is out of pocket.
If u see more than 2 type of “ham” in a sandwich or pizza or etc u can’t call it “Italian style”. Pleaaaaase stoooop it!!!
More random ingredients do not means good taste...we italians don't eat sandwich like those. Just few high quality ingredients. It is better to call them "american sandwiches"
£20 for a sandwich?!?!?
$20 for a sandwich!?
$40 for 2 sandwhichs…..that’s a hard pass
It's pronounced Fah-Chi-Oh's lol
Ahm. That mozzarella doesn’t look a little bit melted. Meh.
It’s not Frankos it’s Nutts cycles it’s Faicco
lol SAMwich
never say that name again
Shein c
Parisi's >>>>>>> Faicco
Not even close
You should been denied service after trying to pronounce the name!!!
Fah e co

Killer
That was NOT melted mozzarella …
No thanks
