One of the greatest nights of my life was in Mexico City when I saw Lee Ritenour in concert with Alex Acuña, Abraham Laboriel and Patrice Rushen. He autographied my CDs and my DVDs and we took pictures together!
Same here, years ago had a ticket scalper in Houston who would include backstage passes with your tickets! Lee signed for me, asking where I got the album slip sheet, I told him I had pulled if out of the back of the CD case, and he commented how clever that was! Great years in music.
Lee such a splendid Guitar... Am from Central América El Salvador. I had the pleasure knowing his unforgetable compositions when in the 80's live 5 years in LA California.... Great song....
2023 …and Still sounds AMAZING! I share with everyone! ❤ Been loving on our Peeps for a lifetime! Lee, Melvin, Eric & youngblood on the drums! ❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉 BRAVO BROTHERS!!!
I seriously cannot finish studying for my finals listening to this song. The bass is making me get my Marcus Miller bass out and learn this song. Every note he plays makes me want to jump outta my seat....I love it!!!!!!! His groove is awesome!!! Lee is that guy man....his groove is sweet too!! 5 stars for the whole band!!!!
too few comments about this fantastic drummer. first time I saw and listened this dvd years ago, I thought the guy sounded amazing and unique, and now I still do think this. fantastic kit, tight pocket, and the timing of some fills here are very out of the common! ladies and gentlemen, OSCAR SEATON!!!
¡!Me sorprendió😮 !!
If you have not seen this entire DVD, you are missing out. It is 2 hours + of musical perfection. I watched it three times the first night I had it. Freaking musical genious!
What a beautiful tone Lee Ritenour gets - I've always loved his music since the "Is it you?" days in the early 80s. Truly, a wonderful musician who gets together with other great musicians in a noticeably ego-free environment to deliver a really special kind of music. I love this guy!!!
This is music. Yes, few audience, few people that give applause. But that is the wonder of music, it is for the FEW who understand what it really means.
got to see lee bACK IN 1982, IN THE TINY CELLAR DOOR CLUB In DC, just knew this guy was special, and have followed his career since, love all of his music ,, very soothing. go LEE..
Amazing musicians! I felt a bit sorry for Lee because somebody seems to have stolen half his guitar just before they went on stage, but he still made it sound fantastic. Respect!
Have seen him in concert 3 times and met him in Seattle a few years back, Not only one of the most incredible musicians of our times but a true gentleman. Six String theory cd is crazy good.
As for me, this is the video that made me into saxophonist. Saw it when I was 9 y/o, now I live by playing at weddings e.g. at 23. Still adore Marienthal with every fiber of my soul!
This is my favorite track ever on youtube by one of my favorite artists Lee Ritenour. I keep watching it over and over again. In my opinion it's a close to perfect sync between artists. The drummer keeps up on the changes, and the bass, wow, it's just floating right through the whole time. But it is a clip you need to watch, not just listen to without video. Not that the soundtrack doesn't sound good by itself, but the video makes it even better.
Oh my goodness!!!! wow!!!! everyone brings in such sweet talent - Can't get any better than this !!! Thank You. Looking forward to see you in West Palm Beach, FL -
im like watching this over and over again, its like an inspiration for me, to play with a band this tight is not easy, the drummer is good! definitely a band player
I'm so glad to find such good video with no 100+ top comment. Good music digs real people. Lee's the best Jazz guitarist same with the rest of the band.
Got to know Lee Ritenour after i bought george benson's album and listened to the song ONE LIKE YOU. Searched for Lee Ritenour, Clicked this video... And realised i've been missing out on many great legends.
@@paulbentley2709lol no way....emulating someone doesn't make u better than them ...Melvin is clearly influenced by Marcus not the other way around....lost count how many bass players from amateurs to pros try and emulate Marcus ...Marcus is on another level ...far more to his style than just tone and slap

Phenomenal musicians with phenomenal musicianship!!! Melvin Lee Davis is a MONSTER BASSIST!!!!!

LOVE the drummer in this rendition. Just owns the pocket!
Who is the drummer? His pocket is solid!
Lee such a splendid Guitar... Am from Central América El Salvador. I had the pleasure knowing his unforgetable compositions when in the 80's live 5 years in LA California.... Great song....
How can 187 people dislike this melody, it's got everything!
The drummer isn’t precise, the keyboard is leveling low and the mix work is not the best… but Lee and the music are spectacular.
It never ceases to amaze me how jazz never ever ever vets old.❤
I luv this jam.

He's immediately ready for any changes, just look at him adapting. It's a pleasure.

This is the video that inspired me to pick up the bass back in 2009. Thank you Melvin Davis!
Yeah, thank you Melvin Davis and thank you Marcus Miller, the creator of the original groove of this song. Two masters!

Brilliant!!! One of my favourite smooth jazz artists.
Bassist is killin, tone out of this world. Jazz tone is most intense. (Melvin Davis)
Melvin has always been a superstar on bass, but I do like Marcus Miller and Stanley Clarke, and Travis Carlton, Larry's son is also outstanding
