Victor is great, and so are Marcus and Stanley. Love Marcus's tone too, but Melvin Davis not only is a killer bassist but has a ridiculous, solid, great tone. Got the the tight low end and push around 150hz, but that sheen and crispness on the top for definition. Glad I got to hang out and talk with Melvin when he was with Lee Ritenour and the band at Blue Alley in DC a few years ago. Cool dude and a great musician! A big inspiration for my playing over the years.
@@matiasfranciscoponceramire1871 great list, great tastes. i add Pastorius of course but i know, it' s another style and it was the Godfather of almost all bass players in the history
I'm probably going to get negative comments but, I'm I the only one who thinks less is more sometimes? Too much tink tink(Look what I can do), and this is coming from a Bass player!! I totally understand if you're soloing! I'm not bashing Melvin, He a phenomenal player but I just prefer Jimmy Johnson myself!!
So great that Patrice didn't forget her not the solo.
Melvin Lee Davis is one of the most skilled bassists on the planet with MONSTER TONE!!!!!

I have to say that I admire Lee Ritenour's willingness to step back and let his musicians shine. Very cool.

Masterpiece! Lee Ritenour g, Patrice Rushen keys, Will Kennedy dr, and Melvin Lee Davis bass

Abraham Laboriel pls
Anthony Jackson PLEASE
@@matiasfranciscoponceramire1871 Or Jimmy Johnson!
i can't
Haha that right :(
Mr Davis has great Funk, he is up there with Marcus Miller
Wooten, Laboriel, Jackson, Clarke, Collins, the Olympus of BASS!
Not my cup of tea. Very skilled, no doubt. But when I hear bass I want to hear bottom, not a heap of clicks, high-pitched sounds, metallic dings, etc.

Well…Jimmy sure is fabulous from Flim to JT and countless others…but he is certainly not your funky bass player who is needed here…my 5 cts
No Carlos, no Abraham, no Dave. But still amazing.
For me it's not amazing without them.
@@solecaring1230 Amazing LEE, powerful ABRAHAM, graceful CARLOS, and beautiful DAVE,,,
