Good question. You need all your SwAxe to have the rampage deco "Switcher". Switcher, recover phials every time you morph (it's a small amount but if you know how to play you can make it OP). It's a level 3 deco so not all of them can have it but all the best SwAxe already have a lv 3 rampage deco. However I will be honest, managing your phials on SwAxe depends really on how you play, there is no real way to keep your phials from never decreasing, you need to keep your eyes on your phials at all time.
Use the Switcher Jewel 3. It increases the amount of gauge you get back from the basic morph loop, among other things. The Thanatos Serpent can use it naturally, without any Rampage Slot augments.
I wonder how well a Grinder (S) + Heaven Sent 2 build with the Lucent Narga SA would fare versus this. I know Thanatos Serpent has the better Poison value, but Lucent Narga has purple sharpness and gets +10% extra raw for up to 90 secs every time you hit blue with Grinder (S). Or do Foray and the extra base raw put the Remobra SA over the top?
I haven't really tested but from my perspective I think Thanatos might be better and here is why: Thanatos already has a lv 3 rampage deco so it can be fully qurio augmented for attack whereas the lucent nargacuga can't since it needs to qurio augment for rampage slots so it loses attack. Using grinders S will need you to lose sharpness and gain sharpness continuously which means you still lose damage even with grinder S, that's why people use protective polish so that they can activate grinder S and prevent their sharpness from decreasing afterwards If you use grinder S and heaven-sent it means you shouldn't switch scrolls for while and for every time you wanna activate grinder S, it's gonna be annoying especially if you use dereliction or mail of hellfire or other skills that affect your scrolls. So yeah I think sticking to Thanatos is better
@@Vector_V I guess one shouldn't underestimate the no purple sharpness weapons. After all, last I checked the SA with the best matchup against regular Magnamalo is The Lightning Shredder+.
Yeah the thing is sharpness is big damage modifier but it can put classed by other factors. Another example is the Rathian CB, the Rathian CB is the new meta for CB; it used to be the rakna kadaki. Here is what happened, the rakna kadaki was spending 4 of its qurio augment to get to rampage deco slot lv 3 which meant sacrificing elemental augment, meanwhile the Rathian CB already has a lv 3 rampage deco which means it can be fully qurio augmented for element. At the end, the Rathian CB has 107 fire attack and the Rakna kadaki CB has 104.

Goddamn that build must have a ridiculous amount of raw damage. I'm curious to hear your thoughts on poison build vs exhaust phial build? I'd assume poison benefits more from status trigger and foray. Also, running that much Evade Window on Swaxe makes me nostalgic about my MH:World Swaxe builds xd
Good question. Exhaust SwAxe is trash. Exhaust SwAxe doesn't take advantage of buildup boost if that's what you thought, buildup boost only increases the damage of the explosions on exhaust SwAxe and because if it was increasing the damage of the physical hits, exhaust SwAxe would be too OP (yeah a lot of people thought exhaust SwAxe was good with Buildup Boost, it was a trap). Buildup Boost on SwAxe truly and only works on poison or blast or paralysis SwAxe.
@@Vector_V BuB definitely increases swaxe raw attacks as long as it is amped and it is a sword attack (or a morphing attack with phial switch boost rampage deco). There are videos on youtube showing side by side comparison. BuB is really good with exhaust swaxe because every hit after it is amped applies exhaust, instead of the usual 1/3 probability with other statuses. Exhaust swaxe is definitely a viable raw swaxe option if you don't have top tier qurio augment or are in multiplayer hunts that are difficult to amp up power phials. It is probably still better to run poison swaxe in speedruns tho cuz power phial already gives 15% dmg bonus to sword attacks and with Status Trigger you can apply status 100% of the time, increasing the effectiveness of BuB.
@Haoyu thanks for the feedback but using the same build with BuB, Poison did better than Exhaust and most good SwAxe runners prefer running either Poison or Blast. Whether Exhaust SwAxe works or not with BuB the point is it's still weak AF.
It's a difficult question, I've not been able to answer it myself yet. However I don't think Amatsu SA is that good compared to a Buildup Boost SA, lemme explain. On GS, Amatsu is better because GS playstyle relies solely on the counter, but SA doesn't. Yes you counter but SA has to do a lot more of its regular combo than GS and on those regular combos Amatsu SA is weak compared to a Buildup Boost SA. So I think Buildup Boost SA is better because it increases your damage overall rather than just your silkbind especially that SA doesn't just rely on the counter unlike GS.
Ok ok I think you have it all wrong. Heaven-sent at lv 1 restore sharpness every time you switch scrolls (similar to sharpening but faster) so if you have Grinder S of course it will work because you technically sharpen your weapon but if you don't have Grinder S then it's whatever, heaven-sent is still gonna do it's job. Heaven-sent at lv 3 which I have in the video keeps your sharpness from decreasing altogether (think of it as a permanent protective polish). Also plz read the in-game description of skills before watching videos online.
@Vector_V Dude I was only confused with the protect polish glow from the sharpness since in the build video you weren't using it which left me question why that was glowing all the time. I didn't know Heavensent used the same glow as protect polish. Also one thing I found out for people using this build for elemental switch axe players. While this does offer incredible dps, you are required to play perfect, never get hit never lose downtime from boss. So unless you are confident in being perfect every hunt I would consider a different build.
Well did you see me getting knocked back or loosing the buff from heaven-sent? NO As a speedrunners I have to play perfectly. Also there's multiple ways to counter the problem with heaven-sent like "intrepid heart". Since intrepid heart takes the hit for you, it allows heaven-sent to still stay active even if you got it.
@@Vector_V Not everyone is built to speed run. Though everyone else who sees this build thinks it's amazing. The only caveat is unless everyone else plays perfect, then this build is not for them, because either way to play switch axe efficiently you need some sort of protect polish or that sharpness is going to go down fast
I see, well in this case it depends on the person's own needs and capabilities, heaven-sent is what works for me. I will recommend heaven-sent always because honestly, forget about the whole speedrunner thing, "what is the point of playing if not to get better especially in a game of this genre?"
The counter is called "Elemental Counter Burst". You will unlock it at MR 3 or 4. Also don't get fooled by the name, it has elemental inside of the name but it has nothing to do with element so you can use on any build
Imho this are the most boring type of endgame they can introduce.. Raw HP and DMG buff is just kinda meh since if Anomaly Investigation is not difficult for you, this will change absolutely nothing... Only adding a couple minutes in your hunts... Yes this worked in Old world because naturally monsters therr have Multiplayer HP scaling but not in Rise..
It works for me cause I like making/using ultra meta sets and cramming every skill I can into it because at the end of the day, big number make brain do the goody good chemicals. But then an unfortunate side effect of that is the monster dies in 3 mins. And then the game just feels like monotonous grinding to me. I'm no longer really enjoying it. I don't even get to see or interact with half of the monsters moveset at that point. I know I just made every speedrunner wish death upon my non-existent soul but that's just the way I see it
Yes it is. Special investigation is the new type of quest added in MHRise Sunbreak and monsters there, have insane HP, some have 190 000 and this is for solo... so imagine multiplayer
