RC is a gem all the way up to Lake Needwood but in general the DMV offers alot from Fresh to Saltwater! Largemouth, Smallmouth, Snakehead, Gar, Rockfish, Walleye, White and Yellow Perch, Pickerel...i even caught a Trout in RC on a spinning rod with just a hook no bait (no lure). Not too mention bluegills, schellcrackers, chubbs, carp, cats. Paint Branch, Northwest Branch, Patuxents, Patapscos...The Chesapeak Bay Watershed is serious business. We haven't even begun to talk about salt.
Did you get any smallmouth bass? In addition to lots of panfish, you can hook up with some surprisingly nice smallies in the 12-15 inch range in the boulder strewn section above Pierce Mills and below Military Road. I have never seen anyone fishing for them.
@@jimmerfishingtv4330 There is some ambiguity about the fishing regs-I have seen written that you are not supposed to fish above Porter street, but I called the ranger station and they had never heard of that rule.
What do you get them on? I fish that water occasionally but I only ever catch bluegill up there. I think I need to rethink how I fish small steam bass tho. Do you use a long leader?

Not in this video but I caught my first smallmouth in that area! I’m surprised by how little pressure I’ve seen on rock creek, great fishery
