Nothing as satisfying as watching an artisan at work. Beautiful. I wonder how many attempts at creating something like this there were until you mastered this? Is that a steel wire you use to burn those lines in the final vase.
Nice project as always .2 questions is it a thick piece of copper wire your using to burn the black lines in , and the little yellow round sanding block you use hows that made please ,what is it ?
@@indianatone218 Thanks! I use 2 types of wire. The thicker wire is standard bailing wire and I use mig welder wire for thinner lines. These are the yellow sanding pads I use. amzn.to/3Z4A77t
Well I went and bought a new lathe today after watching your videos for a while .i want to start doing craft shows again if you don’t mind me asking how much do you charge for them.thanks tony
@@tonyzola9396 That's great! Glad to hear it! This project I usually sell for around 10 bucks. In my current situation I try to make $60.00 per hour so I see how many I can make in an hour and divide it by 60. It's not written in stone but That's how I do it.
@@thomlindgren6253 Happy labor day to you as well. It's funny that you say that because it's something I've been thinking about lately. I've been experimenting with food coloring and it looks promising. I'll try something soon to post. Thanks for watching!
@@RcWoodturningI did it on some small Christmas ornaments and I used the cheap permanent marks for the Dollar Tree. Worked pretty well and after finishing not color bleed.
@@RcWoodturning...I watched a british female woodturner paint on a thin film of adhesive, let it get tacky, then dry-brush an iridescent powder into it...the result looked amazing...I gotta go back to try to get the product...if interested... In any case, another cool project...👍 Matt
I can't tell you how much I appreciate you sharing your recipe for the shine juice. It has taken my projects to a whole new level.
@@wesleyowens2460 That's great to here! I was glad to share it! I'm glad it's working for you!
Thanks for the feedback!
I must have missed the wood polish formula, I would appreciate it if you could send me the details.

Well done
Thank you!

Thank you! This one is pretty easy but I've had my share of throw aways.
I liked the sanding close up. (Holder/grit change)
What kind of rags do you use for the polishing?
@@seanpaula8924 Thank you! These are the rags I use.

Gotcha. Im familiar with them 👍✌️
What size drill are you using for the hole in the center.
@@patbeatty7116 I use a 1/2 drill bit. That is the size of the test tubes.

@@RcWoodturning Thanks ,that was quick lol ,
I'm novice Turner so forgive my ignorance, what is the "lace" that makes the black inlay, and what is the finish, is it just shellac
I use bailing wire to burn the lines.
This is a video about my finish.

I kept thinking “how many times is he going to stick his finger in that hole?”
How many was it?
