I don’t think they had standardized spelling in the 1500s, though I’m not sure about the 1600s. It was also the time of the great vowel shift. So maybe that’s why Maysie has many different ways of spelling Maisy. 😂

The parallels are STAGGERING. Literally how they go against their supposed church. But because this brings in money, the Mormon church pushes for more and more of their women to become social media influencers, even if they become ridiculed and no longer even Mormon.
They actually push it? I thought it happened for the same reasons MLMs are common -- women aren't supposed to work outside the household, but they need the extra income.
@@BlackCanary87 Hi! Actual member here. The Church does not push anyone to become influencers. What OP might be confusing is that we are encouraged to share our beliefs online, but mostly just with a personal friends and family. This is largely in part to combat misinformation spread by shows like SLOMW and has nothing to do with generating revenue for the church. Some women might choose to try to become influencers, to make extra money or for the attention, but that is their choices 😊
I was reading just yesterday that a historian has only recently started looking into the story of Mary Barnard, the wife of Roger Williams, who's famous for telling the puritans where they could stick their witch burning traditions and buggered off to found the colony of Rhode Island. It seems Mary did a lot to advance the colony, including positive liaison with the area's indigenous people, so I hope she ended up with many oxen for her efforts, and minimal syphilis.
My favorite part of the Puritan story is when they were all welcomed into Holland, because the Dutch were so open to other cultures, and then decided they must flee to America, many of them to die of starvation, because their children were becoming infected with that damned Dutch liberalism. 🤣🤣🤣
I am disappointed that the names have a profound lack of 'Constance Abstinence Virtue Purity Chastity '. But then again, I guess just saying the average puritan name would take up 1/3 of a TH-cam short, so there's that.

Tune in for season two of “Keeping up with the puritans”.
I'd watch a whole series of this show. It really churns my butter!
I can't wait for the dancing plague episode.
Talk about churning some butter!
It's always dunking on witches, though.
Oh man, I completely forgot you were Scottish for a minute there. Well done!

Thank you Eleanor. As always, education and pulchritude.
