When a woman is worried of having this type of husband my advice is get him involved in his daily life : bringing the kids to their activities (sport), to school, helping with the homeworks. Also in Islam it is haram ( forbidden ) to have multiple wives if you CANNOT love them or provide for them equally. Most muslims only choose to have one wife but you do get others that prefer more when they can do so.

No believer father would like his son-in-law to marry a second, third or fourth woman along with his daughter. The jealous nature of the woman and the affection of the father for his daughter disapproves this. As a matter of fact, the daughter of our beloved Prophet, Sayyidah Fatima, objected to her husband, Ali’s marrying of a second woman. If it weren’t permissible to object, Sayyidah Fatima, who was brought up by our Prophet, would not have objected. The Messenger of Allah would have warned her and ordered her to consent to her husband’s wish. However, it did not take place like that. On the contrary, the Messenger of Allah, who saw that his daughter was worried, asked Ali to give up his wish and told him that if he did not give it up, he could marry another woman after divorcing Sayyidah Fatima. He did not consent to Ali’s second marriage to depress his daughter. By considering that act of the Messenger of Allah, it can be stated that Muslim daughters and fathers may object to the second marriage of their husband or son-in-law.

On the contrary, the Messenger of Allah, who saw that his daughter was worried, asked Ali to give up his wish and told him that if he did not give it up, he could marry another woman after divorcing Sayyidah Fatima. He did not consent to Ali’s second marriage to depress his daughter.
By considering that act of the Messenger of Allah, it can be stated that Muslim daughters and fathers may object to the second marriage of their husband or son-in-law.

He did not consent to Ali’s second marriage to depress his daughter.

In that case, Islam did not introduce the possibility and practice of marrying more than one woman; it continued the existing practice by improving it; Islam laid certain conditions and legal rules for it.
When Islam continued it, it seems to have separated the two states:
Men who are afraid of not being able to act justly between their wives are advised to be content with one woman in verse 3 of the chapter of an-Nisa.
It is clearly and definitely stated in verse 129 of the chapter of an-Nisa that it is not possible to act justly between more than one wife in all aspects, no matter how much one wants and tries.

b) Men who are married to more than one woman as a result of some necessities need to do the following except for the states and differences that are beyond the control of human beings such as the relationship of the heart, love and devotion:
- They need to be objective in material issues,
- They need to treat their women equally in measurable rights and benefits; when a man leads the life of marriage with one of them, he must not leave the other one suspended and alone; he must not exclude her from care and relationship; he must not ignore her needs or make her materially inferior to others.

The main reason why Bedouins living in the villages and on the mountains in the region where Islam emerged married many women was protection against the enemy; besides, dominance over the environment necessitated a strong and belligerent population.

If this is true we must realize that our time can only be spread so thin, and the quality of this “love” will not be the same as a man/woman who commits all of their heart to one spouse. A woman does not consent to share her husband with another woman under normal circumstances, and no woman would like to marry a married man unless she has to.
It is a necessity of belief that polygamy is right. However, to believe it does not necessarily mean for a woman to consent to the second wife and approve it.
No believer father would like his son-in-law to marry a second, third or fourth woman along with his daughter. The jealous nature of the woman and the affection of the father for his daughter disapproves this. As a matter of fact, the daughter of our beloved Prophet, Sayyidah Fatima, objected to her husband, Ali’s marrying of a second woman. If it weren’t permissible to object, Sayyidah Fatima, who was brought up by our Prophet, would not have objected. The Messenger of Allah would have warned her and ordered her to consent to her husband’s wish. However, it did not take place like that. On the contrary, the Messenger of Allah, who saw that his daughter was worried, asked Ali to give up his wish and told him that if he did not give it up, he could marry another woman after divorcing Sayyidah Fatima. He did not consent to Ali’s second marriage to depress his daughter.
By considering that act of the Messenger of Allah, it can be stated that Muslim daughters and fathers may object to the second marriage of their husband or son-in-law.

So in that contract, the woman has the right to say, as long as he is still married to her, the husband do not have the right to marry a second time, unless they get divorced
