I usually don't like those open to interpretation endings... And i'm glad it was mentioned in the last scene the hit and run car was officially sold. Most likely how DA got dna proof
I really enjoyed it. The motivation for Juror #2 for redemption of his past alcoholic life was key. He wanted so badly to move on… and some of the interactions with his wife were so telling… he didn’t show up for the baby’s ultrasound… like he hadn’t shown up so many times in the past. The backstory of his past behavior was unspoken but central.
I wasn’t even planning to see this in theatre but after seeing the positive feedback at the start I paused it when you have the spoiler alert, went to go see it, and now I’m back to hear your thoughts! lol 😄 love you guys!
Look like a sanitized version of the Seventh Jury/Septième juré. A french movie from the 60's. Respectable family man rapes and kills a women. The (non respectable) boyfriend is accused. Chosen for the jury and ridden with guilt, he does everything he can to get a non guily verdict without success. Very good movie but depressing as hell.
Had he raped and killed a woman, this would've been a much different film. This movie does a great job of establishing a gray area. The man in Seventh Jury sounds like a monster.
Thank yall for the review! It looks good, and I am excited to see it. I am just curious to why the studio seems to want to bury this movie with the smaller than limited release.
Did this as a double feature with Here. Here really spoke to me deeply about not letting life pass you by without going after your dreams. I thought this was very engaging and pretty much exactly what the trailer said it would be which isn't a bad thing.
Bravo for this review. It is very sad to see so few of those big reviewer talk about, it even move for a studio like WB that won numbers of prizes and money with Clint Eastwood having so few regard for his work they only release his movie in a small number of theaters.
The biggest problem I had with it was that the other jurors nor the defense attorney were asking the right common sense questions. I did think the actors were good, but I was disappointed by it.
Right. The prosecutor only ask the defendant like 3 questions before resting. I've seen a lot of actual court cases and anytime the prosecutor gets a chance to cross examine the defendant, you can bet it's going to be a long grilling. Also I've been called to jury duty a few times and everytime the question "are you or have you been a law enforcement officer or have a family member who is law enforcement?" Has always been on the application they have you fill out before jury selection even begins. No way they wouldn't ask that question.
"Debbie's dad"? Okay, Joseph had me rolling on the floor with that one! Happy Halloween! The Juror was horrifically bad! I thought Runaway Jury was a good film, but I can see what you mean about it, Nick.
As I was watching this I was thinking this could easily have been made by Hitchcock. But Hitchcock's version would have been better and certain moments would have had more dramatic impact. Good movie though.
Looking forward to this. I wanted to like Cry Macho (great poster) but that was a very weak film from the venerable Mr. Eastwood, whose directing career (starting from Bird, especially) is just as inspired and memorable as his remarkable acting one. This drama sounds like a big improvement, not a hero-worship film as several of Eastwood’s recent works have been.
Hey guys I think Zoe’s character and Nicholas’ character had different last names despite being married, so when his wife said her husband Justin it didn’t register with Toni Collette. But when Toni saw the thank you card, the deceased family had multiple last names on the signature and that’s when it dawned on Toni
Nick I wholeheartedly agree with you that Clint Eastwood either makes really excellent movies or really horrible movies. There is no in between with him. However even with his good films I always find some flaws that prevent them from being extraordinary.
I’m curious to hear if while watching Juror#2, if you both saw any comparison with Nicholas Hoult to a 90’s era Tom Cruise from The Firm and A Few Good Men era? While watching the trailer of this film, that’s the first thing that came to mind, when seeing Nicholas and hearing his line delivery in the trailer.
So what’s the justice then if it was an accident???? But I do agree you don’t let an innocent guy who didn’t kill his girlfriend to be in prison without the possibility of parole if you know that you’re the one responsible for killing the victim. It would just haunt me to the rest of my life. It’s a tough one cuz it was clearly an accident but to convince other jury that her boyfriend should go to prison is also fucked.
Never surprises me someone goes to bar always expect trouble in that person life that happens a lot in real life watch cops , , jail ,real police tv every episode someone gets arrested from alcohol and drugs i seeing pattern with alcohol in real world and in movies tv shows
I'm not really getting the high praise this film is getting. The acting and many of the lines are very hammy. I didn't really feel the internal struggle so much and then in the end he's just like "oh fuck it, I got a family to take care of. He was a bad guy anyway." When they found the boyfriend guilty and sentenced him to life in prison without parole I fully expected the main character to just break down and confess everything. But no, he stuck with being a complete asshole.
It was a solid film, but I found the script was uninspired. And the whole thing about the misidentification of the suspect was glossed over - was that sloppiness of the lawyers or a fault in the script?
i love this movie...but this movie feels small. feels like this could've been released on streaming rather than theatre. the ending was predictable cause american audience LOVE a good "happy" ending so to speak instead of it being as it is. it's just not WOW. good cast though.
I don't know why but Nicolas Hoult looks dopey and odd to me. Maybe it's how thin he is, his weird eyebrows, his high hairline, or his weak chin? So it's so hard for me to take him seriously in this.
I always had a problem with Eastwood because I knew he was bashing poor Sondra Locke around and never paid the price for it. His views are hideous. He does make good films, and it was hard to ignore his westerns and Dirty Harry.
Joseph, I found your jawline and mustache far too distracting for this review 😅🥵 however, I would agreed Hoults acting was impressive but it was for sure a B movie, little Lifetime Special-y at times
I usually don't like those open to interpretation endings... And i'm glad it was mentioned in the last scene the hit and run car was officially sold. Most likely how DA got dna proof
I was just thinking I haven't seen a good courtroom drama in a long time. Sounds good 👩🏼⚖️
I really enjoyed it. The motivation for Juror #2 for redemption of his past alcoholic life was key. This immediately reminded me of Jenna Maroney's the "Rural Juror" from 30 Rock
I wasn’t even planning to see this in theatre but after seeing the positive feedback at the start I paused it when you have the spoiler alert, went to go see it, and now I’m back to hear your thoughts! lol 😄 love you guys!
Just saw this tonight, I enjoyed it a good bit. Can’t wait to recommend to my dad. Thank you for the review

Yea I can see that

Thanks for the review ❤😂 My dad is BEST FRIENDS with Abrams and we're so glad people are getting the word out! 😊
Thank yall for the review! It looks good, and I am excited to see it. I am just curious to why the studio seems to want to bury this movie with the smaller than limited release.
1:40 Thank you for the recommendation and the warning. I always watch your reviews, even if I have to come back to finish the video.
I always love both of yall reviews and how diverse you both are with the movies you watch and review
Coming back to finish the review now I’ve seen the movie, thanks for the heads up at 1:40 :)
Good twists and a respect for clever court room drama, this made your day, judging from the kind review😉😊
Glad i found your guys’ channel!
Thank you for the heads-up on the spoiler! Just your pull quotes and body langue have me really excited to see the movie. I really enjoy the channel.

It could easily be an old black and white film like Detour and the main character could be James Stewart. Good flick
Bravo for this review. It is very sad to see so few of those big reviewer talk about, it even move for a studio like WB that won numbers of prizes and money with Clint Eastwood having so few regard for his work they only release his movie in a small number of theaters.
This sounds interesting! I love JK Simmons!! Counterpart is absolutely incredible.
Wait it was supposed to be a twist? The trailer just lays it all out 😅
Apparently not
oh no, just saw it...there's definitely twists. It's great, watch it.
The biggest problem I had with it was that the other jurors nor the defense attorney were asking the right common sense questions. I did think the actors were good, but I was disappointed by it.

Totally agree. The story was weak and not thoroughly thought out.
"Debbie's dad"? Okay, Joseph had me rolling on the floor with that one! Happy Halloween! The Juror was horrifically bad! I thought Runaway Jury was a good film, but I can see what you mean about it, Nick.
I’d love to see in a theater. I’ve heard that it will only be in 50 theaters and very briefly. What is wrong with Warner Brothers?
These days Warner Bros does CLint a favor by distributing his cheap films.
As I was watching this I was thinking this could easily have been made by Hitchcock. But Hitchcock's version would have been better and certain moments would have had more dramatic impact. Good movie though.

I can’t wait for this movie.
irl everybody so incompetent he woulda got away with it
Nick the t-shirt ❤!

Love u two will definitely watch❤
Am I the only one who thought: Why the rails/fence isn't damage when she was hit there and fell down?
Just saw this, Joseph did you not rate this or did I miss it? I was interested to see what your rating would be.
Yall was right this movie sounds soooo good I should've watched the movie 1st
It’s weird this is only getting a limited release (not in my area), someone must have beef with Clint lol
What's your meaning for finale scene, please? :)
Nick I wholeheartedly agree with you that Clint Eastwood either makes really excellent movies or really horrible movies. There is no in between with him. However even with his good films I always find some flaws that prevent them from being extraordinary.

Sorry if I missed something somewhere along the line, but why didn’t Joseph have a pull quote/rating? Love you guys and have for years! ❤
Thank you…because I didn’t watch the movie.
This movie sounds like it was an episode on the Alfred Hitchcock Hour, I'm almost positive lol
💕Love The Alfred Hitchcock Hour!!!!!!!!!!!💕

Basso was also in that show the big c. I kinda liked that show. He’s good in the night agent.
actually it was not the day they lost the twins, it was the due date
Never surprises me someone goes to bar always expect trouble in that person life that happens a lot in real life watch cops , , jail ,real police tv every episode someone gets arrested from alcohol and drugs i seeing pattern with alcohol in real world and in movies tv shows
Can u guys review the interview with a vampire remake amc series? It's really good

So what does the final scene mean? 🤔 😅
It was a solid film, but I found the script was uninspired. And the whole thing about the misidentification of the suspect was glossed over - was that sloppiness of the lawyers or a fault in the script?
I want to be down with this film but everything that the characters are doing are illegal or could not happen so it is a pass for me
i love this movie...but this movie feels small. feels like this could've been released on streaming rather than theatre. the ending was predictable cause american audience LOVE a good "happy" ending so to speak instead of it being as it is. it's just not WOW. good cast though.

😂😂😂😂
I have liked a few of Clint's movies. They kind of took a turn and also some of views turned me off. Anyway I'm glad he has made a better movie!
I always had a problem with Eastwood because I knew he was bashing poor Sondra Locke around and never paid the price for it. His views are hideous. He does make good films, and it was hard to ignore his westerns and Dirty Harry.
Ha ha, Debbie Gibson!!!!
This movie looks so good!
Eastwood daughter is the dead woman
clint still ain't "gone to be with him" yet? .... sigh 😒...
Joseph, I found your jawline and mustache far too distracting for this review 😅🥵 however, I would agreed Hoults acting was impressive but it was for sure a B movie, little Lifetime Special-y at times
No offense to Toni, but that accent is not Georgia-its Hollywood, lol.
👸👸Toni Collette👸👸
Why do you do spoiler alert reviews of newly released films? I'm not watching for that reason.
Why do you comment on videos you don’t watch?
I am very happy that they do spoiler alerts !! That is what makes these guys so up front and cool to watch ❤
