Kelly definitely brought her own clothes and wigs to set. She wasn't going to let Tyler make her look all crazy.

Jack of all trades usually alludes to the fact that said person can actually do the many jobs they lay claim to, not a Master maybe but they can get the job done well enough. I am sure there were one or two of his works that showcased that he was the Jack of All Trades at one time. He cannot lay claim to that moniker any longer! If he improved at all, it seems his work would still be barely palatable.

Just weird and unnecessary
This movie made absolutely no sense from beginning to end. Rowland's character should have been a fashion designer (because of her clothes). Her character could have just started an affair with him and could have been his next possible victim. She did not have to be married. The district attorney did not have to be crooked and damn sure did not have to lie about his mom having Cancer to get voted in as mayor. Did he frame the artist because he had an affair with his wife? Divorce anyone? Tyler Perry has a habit of having his female characters have affairs. Why would his mom agree to this? And brother? Is no one in that family a voice of reason?
They lost me in the beginning when Rowland's character was because her husband wants to be around his mom who has Cancer (before we find out the truth) she is angry. I think I would be worried if my husband wasn't visiting his sick mom. She mentions an old female friend of her husband's that we see one time and never mentioned again. Rowland's character has no integrity as she is supposed to be an attorney and easily has an affair with this guy, who she even believes committed the murder. She also stayed in the place where everyone was obviously having sex behind sheets. She was with her client. This was not professional in any way. I feel she should have dropped the case a long time ago. How many people has she had an affair with?
The husband's reasons for being fired make no sense. If he were an anesthesiologist and was using the drugs, I would think he would be falling asleep on the job as the drugs used are for sedation before operations. If he was mixing this with alcohol, he should not wake up eventually. That could have been part of the plot. Her husband could have overdosed. She could have been grieving and this made her vulnerable to fall for the artist and possibly become his next victim.
Don't forget Rowland's character lets the lady know she knows who she is and that she is not dead, instead of just calling her PI. If this lady was hired by the DA to frame the artist shouldn't she have been paid good for that. I mean if caught she will go to jail a loooooooooooong time. So, why is she a maid?
Did the sister-in-law survive?
Tyler Perry is a great example of why you need schooling for your craft.

The best part of the movie was Kelly wearing that black suit and stylish overcoat. I fell asleep after that, woke up and had to rewind back.

This film was incredibly unbelievable. Kelly did look great, but she wasn’t having TP make her look a mess and we appreciate it. Still, there were so many foolish moments that made it difficult to believe the plot. I broke out in laughter several times when something ridiculous happened. It was a scorching, boiling, molten mess! The scene where she happens upon the woman who was "murdered" in D.R., made me weak with laughter.

My sentiments exactly! There’s no way a woman of Mea’s stature would tolerate being treated so poorly. Her husband was WORTHLESS!! Even the sex was awful. Why would she marry him? Is she an orphan? Was she abused/neglected and the husband was her only childhood friend?
I couldn't bring myself to watch the entire film, 30 minutes into watching, and fast-forwarded to the last 20 minutes. Writing one-dimensional characters, cartoonist villains. The beginning of the film was extra for no reason. An ice cream out on the streets in the middle of winter in Chicago. Who's walking down the streets eating ice cream? Also, watching Chicago local news from the DR. Nothing in the movie. made sense, nor did the 2-hour running time. All the characters could have blown up in an explosion. I didn't care about them or this film.
The woman character who keeps his paintings even though she hates him and refers to him as a snake. Nothing made sense except for the ending. I'm glad she ghosted Zayiar because his character is a Big RED FLAG!!
The sheer amount of non-self awareness needed for this movie to have been approved by so many parties including Netflix leads me to believe this is some form of Emporers New Clothes situation where everyone knows it's bad but no one wanted to say anything
To be fair, all of Tyler Perry's movies are bad. At this point, everybody watches them to see HOW bad.

Thank you for mentioning the score.. It didn't synchronise the scenes or provide the mood needed for each scene! Music plays a big part and his usual score seeps through and makes me annoyed more than anything.
The movie could have been so much better but there was alot of holes in the story. Is jimmy really in love with Mea?. How did he miss the family all being in the hotel if he is the best private inventigator? What is Mea's story?. Why did she become an defense attorney?. Where is her family? Whos body was at Zhairs loft?. Why didnt Mea didnt step foot in a courtroom?. Where did the medical bill money go since the cancer story was a lie?. How did Mea's sister in law meet Zhair?. Why did Mea called the brother in law about seeing meghan?.

Cause where is the money
One of the many things that doesn’t make sense is earlier in the movie she mentioned that she was paying his mother’s medical bills cause she didn’t have medical insurance. How? The lady doesn’t have cancer so what bills? Also why isn’t her other son who is very successful paying the bills? Cancer treatment is extremely expensive so there’s no way Mea’s just footing the bill like that unless she’s a millionaire and in that case why would it matter if her anesthesiologist husband is out of work?
I just kept watching to see what Kelly was wearing.

I admire that Tyler Perry writes, produces, directs, and often stars in all his movies, but he needs someone to help him write his scripts, or just have someone write the entire script themselves. His dialogue especially in his dramas is so cringy. Like a bad soap opera. Mea has to be the dumbest lawyer ever. The convenience of her running into the girlfriend in the DR who was supposed to be dead had me rolling my eyes. The entire movie had me rolling my eyes. The gallery owner trolling the protestors was probably the best part. This was the most unintentionally funniest movie of the year. Also, having sex covered entirely in paint feels unsanitary, especially for your naughty bits. Great review as always!

I love you guys !! I literally see myself in both of your shade . It really felt like they were doing a spoof but didn’t know they were in one . Kelly was trying to give dramatic actress .. Trevante looked bored 🥱 and like he was wondering when the check would clear .. only time I saw any passion from him is when her was stroking his brushes 🎨and her 🐱.. honestly production may have made the movie so outlandish just so it would go viral .

The only Tyler Perry's movie that I think was pretty good was The Family that preys and it was freaking good but this movie sounds like a rip off version of Jagged Edge. I think that Tyler Perry should maybe invest in getting another writer to make his scripts ten times better and also gets a better director and he can just be a producer.
