  • This will be the very last time I will be harvesting the Dragon Fruits from my Vietnam White variety. My parents are planning to remodel the property and need the foundation to start it. After this harvest I’ll be cutting it down to its main branch and hope to relocate it to my own home. It’s an emotional last harvest but it has to be done!     It’s a beautiful plant ..loving it and it’s fruits 🇨🇦 dig it up and put it in another spot, I think it’s a better idea 💡 than whack it down after 5yrs

    Hi. Just have to tell u my 4 year old son is obsessed with dragon fruit. He loves watching your videos. This one is his favorite. We are growing some seedlings but we're are in nor cal. I don't know if they will survive. But thanks for your videos.

      If you keep them warm enough they'll survive if you're growing from seeds then it'll take a few years to fruit if you're growing from cuttings then it'll take a few months

    I like how I learned things from your harvest like if you want to pick it but it could use some more ripening then you can cut some more cactus off with it.

    I am a week late. And even if i'm on time and got it right, the fruit will be rotten when it gets here in the Philippines. Hahaha

    Why not just replant in another spot.. you have spent 5 yrs nurturing this beautiful tree. Dont just throw it away

      Thank you Hien. They will grow faster if you fertilize them routinely. It helps them become stronger and have the energy to start producing fruits! Chicken fertilizer is a really good organic way to fertilize them.

    Damn dude i feel you. My grandparents had a mango tree id pick fruits from every year when i was a kid. They planted it when they bought the property back in the day. It had to be really old, was like 25-30 feet tall. Sold the house when my grandfather passed away, & the new owners chopped it down. You should try some vine/potted fruits/veggies if you dont have the floor space.

    I got a White flesh Dragon fruit plants with longer span of branches. It's easy to grow as long as there is a compost to mix with native soil so that it will grow rapidly. Make sure the location is sunny as it won't grow well enough on shaded areas.

    What kind of fertiliser do you use mostly?? Your dragon fruits size massive 😍😍

      Shahriar, I use chicken manure. I add about 2 inches to the top of the soil every 6 months. This keeps the constant organic micro nutrients feeding the plant all year long.

    You must have thick skin. I have to wear garden gloves. Ours is still growing and since we have at least 10 plants it's become a chore every season 🤣 Happy Pitaya Growing!

    You can also try putting a bag of soil over the cactus and it will make roots in a matter of weeks

    Dig the tree right 2feet below the soil and replant it during month of may and June rainy season.i hope the white dragon tree will live and bear fruit for the next year without destroying the tree.

    in Texas weather, I'm lucky to have mine 2/3 of that size. They bloom late in the season and tend to run into the cold weather..

    My friend, gather a dragon fruit is very easy and quick. You just hold the fruit firmly and turn it right and left the fruit beak off the branch at once, no need using the scissors to cut it

    What is the favorable climate or temperature for dragon fruit to grow ? Seems this is a tropical fruit and in my place the maximum temperature is 27 degree celsus during summer.

      They can grow as a houseplant. And dont have them out in 100F weather. Lowest was 37 I believe.
      But the good range was 60 to 80F.

    quick question: is the white-fleshed fruit rare? i tried to find it and all i can get is the red-fleshed ones. the sales people said it's been at least two years they don't get white-fleshed fruits

    Dig it out and replant it to other place. Oh, I did the same to my DATE tree. it's alive....
