I’ve had this mount in my tacoma, on a vertical surface, for about a year now. still holding strong. i deliver food as a part time job so i’m constantly using my GPS to get to people’s houses so i’m placing and removing my phone from the mount constantly for several hours over several days. i apply the metal plates directly on the back of my cases and it holds much better than between the back of the phone and the case. i recently upgraded from an iphone 7 to iphone 8+ and the mount still does a great considering the bigger phone. you can also buy an additional set of 3 metal plates on amazon for about $8. By far, one of the BEST automobile accessories.

Make sure area is level, no uneven surface. Clean area real good, press on well and install in normal temperatures. And wait about 24 hrs before putting phone on it. I liked it enough for my new Altima coupe.

I watched about a dozen reviews for this mount. For most of them, I had to put the speed to 2X and it was still slow and boring. Others had a language barrier. decided to mount on left side of windshield so as to minimize looking away from traffic. made sure i had room for portrait and/or landscape positioning. really like it.

Thanks for the review. I bought one of these and best tip I picked up on was to mount it on a horizontal surface. In my eagerness I set the magic plate on the inside of my phone case, should’ve done it to the outside but the XS Max still holds 🤙🏽
I have one of these that I've been using for years. I have the plate attached to the outside of an OtterBox case instead of inside the case like he shows in the video and I have had no issues.
I love mine. Super strong magnet too, almost so strong it began to peel back my Spigen case every time I removed it from the mount haha! Curious if I can use it for my new iPhone 12pro max tho

i have an iphone 7 with the otterbox defender case. which is the case with the plastic shell and the rubber outside with the plastic built in screen protector. if i were to stick it between the rubber and the plastic shell would it still fit through?
I'm sure it will, but i would probably experiment on metal backing location. Mine is behind the phone case, which weakens the magnetic strength, but holds my Iphone with no issues.
It was hard to not notice the ample girth of that. I wonder if he's left-handed, and is the right one quite a bit smaller? I'm not gay, but I do know Rosey and her four sisters.

@@justaguy4real I've never used the Pro Mount so I can't say, but if you follow how I installed the mount in the video and you don't mount it in a position where the mount will be fighting gravity it should be solid for years. Thanks for subscribing!

@@ExtremeDailyDrivers NO! I just put the large magnet between the rubber piece and plastic piece of the Otter Box case. It doesn't exactly stay in place on its own because it doesn't want to stick to the rubber but carefully put the two pieces of the case together and that hold it in place. Then I put the smaller one on the outside of the plastic piece directly on the back of the phone case giving it two magnets and that seems to be working okay.
sadistic spirit take a piece of dental floss, and work it around an edge. Once you have enough lift, pull it up with a credit card edge. It’s tedious, but at least we know it won’t come off :)
Better to put mount on dash first and check call size to make adjustments. Also that shield you pull off didn't stick to the cell and came off so my fingers totally contaminated both sides. Hate the instructions so poorly written and had to get a magnifying glass to even read it!!! Sucks, all the way around.
The sticker you install before the metal backing piece is removable. So you can remove the backing piece with leaving sticky residue all over your phone. I hope that helps. Thanks for watching!

I would ditch the Otterbox. It's like surrounding a Ferrari with a bunch of tires. If you must keep it, yeah, you need to have the magnet on the outside.

I don't know what that is, but you could always put the magnet on the back of the case or remove the case and stop dropping your phone. 😂
