Hi. How about putting the magnet on the phone case vs the actual phone? Also I use a surface Mount charger-have you seen any interference with the charger??
I am a Scosche owner (I went with the vent mount version) and they truly are everything Jimmy says they are. (Word of caution though - if you have a heavy (thick) phone cover it will decrease the magnet's effectiveness. So, you might be better off sticking the Magic Plate directly to the outside of the cover for direct metal to magnet contact.) Just sayin'.
Hi I have just bought one of these products today and I have put the magnet on the outside of my case which is just a clear through case as I wasn’t quite sure how it would work attach the phone so yes you can attach it to the outside of the case depending on what kind of case you’ve got.
Magnet can't handle the bumps I know that I have one of those I had to get 2 rare earth magnets mount on the back of the phone case so it would stay there and it still came loose once in awhile. I just bought a new mount
I'd like to see you apply this to the dash, to know how well the suction works. I'd prefer not attaching to the window, as it creates another "blind spot"
Why does it say to on the product to rinse under warm water and allow to dry? After its been used or with inital application? No one covers that in their videos.
It’s obvious that the case has reduced the magnetic attraction between phone and holder. From the way the phone was moving around, I wouldn’t trust it is stay on the holder when my car hit a pothole, for instance. I wonder if it occurred to the tester to mount the metal plate onto the outside of the case? If it’s a snug-fitting, lightweight case I don’t see what the downside would be.
Drive it through bumps on the road? Doesn't seem like it would stick if you are ever on rough bumpy roads. Quad Lock would solve that problem. Very similar system, except that it doesn't use a magnet. Uses a male & female locking system instead. Doesn't budge at all, even if you crawl on rocks in a jeep. Great product!
Beware of all the sticky mount in the summer sun, they all fall off. I've thrown atleast 4 of them, they don't even stay for mins in summer sun of New Jersey.
I’ve been using one of these in my car for a couple of years. I put it on the windscreen right in front of me but low down and it’s like a head up display in conjunction with the appropriate app
I just bought one for a iPhone 12 Pro Max and the magnet is barely strong enough with the metal plate inside my leather case. Is that normal? They recommend placing it at the bottom to allow for witless charging but that’s worse than in the middle. I’m disappointed.
Gracias Muchísimas gracias hermano por tus buenos consejos y por tus buenas obras por enseñarnos Cómo acomodar el teléfono en los estuches del teléfono
So when you have the metal plate attached to you phone or inside phone case for the car mount, can you still charge your phone with a wireless charger?
From my experience with a galaxy s7 last year, the answer is no. It affected my wireless charging and my nfc for mobile pay, which is why I gave up on the magnetic mounts although they work very well as a mount. Things can be different now, because as I said that was a galaxy s7 so newer phones may respond differently. Hope this helps.
I have found that using the suction cup lever is a bad idea. It raises the center part of the sticky mount reducing the sticky part surface area by 50%. This gives less sticky surface area to hold the mount and phone. With my phone attached, the mount falls off the surface. Mounting on the window - the Sun will wear out the sticky part and it will loosen after a few months.
yeah, mine falls off. It has to be a really flat surface, no texture (like a dash..). I put it on a side window next to my side mirror and it stays for a while and falls off with the vibrations.
I actually used this mount for my dash cam that had its mount broken. I just stuck the magnetic on the back of the dash cam. Works great!

It's worth a try...

Thanks for your video. Can you put the magnet on the case?

I’m taking back the cd mount version. The phone keeps sliding off the magnet after hitting bumps. But I live in Michigan and our roads suck.
That's what I'm worrying about.
i also live in michigan but use the same version displayed in the video, it holds my phone great over the bumpy roads.
Why didn’t you test It on the dash?

I have been using the Scosche Magnetic mounts for several years they are fantastic.

Thanks. Very helpful video.
Unfortunately when I clicked your link to buy one, I found they don't post to Australia. Great Video though.
Thank you so much, very helpful and thank you for taking the time to do a video! God bless you
I got one two weeks ago and gonna now put it up how yours is
If you are going to use a case, you could just stick the steel plate to the inside of the case.
Thank you very helpful, now I will try.
You CAN attach it to the case. Some cases arent smooth so it will depend on the case.
I have a brand new one In package. How much can I sell it for ?
Very good explanation.
How well does it perform at hot car summer temps?
Its crap.the whole thing keeps falling off the dashboard.

Why are you leaving it out in your hot car?
I wanted to see it tested in the dash as well.
Very helpful😊
Great experience watching I just bought one yesterday & I didn't know how too hook it up thank you!!!! 👍
Very useful. Thanks!!!

Great review!
Thx man, if the phone has wireless charging, will it affect the charging on wireless charging pad?
Yes it will if placed over the charging area.
Will it work with a otter box case or life proof case?
Thank you very helpful!!!!
Can you take it down when you dont need it and then put back on windshield and still work
Good question but I guess he doesn't like to answer any questions.
Once fix to wind screen you can not remove it It is stuck!
Hi, we have an new upgraded Car Cup Phone Mount, do you got any interest to review it?

No you can't charge your phone with the wireless charger with that magnet on the back guaranteed
Can you not attach the case to the magnet?
Thanks for helping me
Wow you are the first guy to say 2 steel pieces .6 videos saying there Magnets lol
Is this item still available?
I agree!!!
This is a good video, i left a like
Probably should put the mount on the case not the phone unless you use no case.
Not helpful. Scoche did a QR code to this and it does NOT give instructions that match my Schoche. I'll be returning it.
Would it work with a wallet type case ?
it most likely depends on how thick the case is but it should and you can also always put the plate on the outside of the case if needed
I've got a case that I can put on a wireless charger. Will the plate on back of the phone prevent the wireless charging?
It’s good but I got a smaller magnet for the phone

the price is much more better or canadian tire walmart or even Cosco its less expansive than Amazone
it going to fall off
Mines on an eSamcore dashboard mounting disc. Its not goin anywhere. In the past. I usually just use silicone. It holds great and can be removed.
Those complaining on the dashboard, press the little knob down to attach to the dash
Could you just stick the plate to the case instead of the phone
I’ll try it
I will use this and set in up at slot machine casino.
The problem is I need to use the back camera, not the front.
I use the back camera with mine and it does not get in the way if you mount it on the dash instead of the windshield
Other than myself, if other people use my car, they won’t be able to use the phone mount…
No. it'll fall with the case. Can see it without even trying.Bad video.
Magnets are not good for smartphones
Is it just me or does it drain the damn battery
Rt
I just threw away mine… useless…
Terrible
