    Last time I did this trip it was on pushbike. Now while I slowed significantly to climb the ridge with big Hill, this train hardly slowed at all. And let me assure you it took a lot longer than 20 minutes for my trip. But at least I never broke any speed limits.

      That would be interesting on a push bike. 👍😊

    Golden square station (former). Site in one of the old station buildings (right hand side) of my favourite radio station: KLFM - a community station but plays very good usually pre-2000’s music.

      Shit station that’s mostly for anyone nearing 90 years of age. But at least they’re not full of Hardly Normal ads.

    Still can't understand why the twin tracks where taken out in-some parts, did hear that it was the high speed trains would rock too much and collide.

    • @xr6lad
      @xr6lad ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Totally agree. It was a cheap cost cutting exercise that we will regret for decades and will cost billions to fix. Supposedly for high speeds envisage on certain sections where there were
      Bends, cuttings and older overhead bridges it would cost to much to widen (in their opinion) and they needed a wider circumference at speed as the trains leaned into corners etc. You can see the problem with the single track in this video: where he mets the on coming Vlocity at Ravenswood. He is flying through where as the other train is either sitting there or ambling slowly waiting on the loop for the oncoming train to clear the single track. Not impressive on what is meant to be a high speed run.

      Ask Jacinta Allen. The lack of brains behind it all.

      You never know, we might see the other track back again some day 👍😊

    I'm enjoying theses videos and as a Ex Western suburbs Victorian know the areas well..(so far)... There Somewhat relaxing, even though a lot of the same which is typical of the area. 😊

    Something I keep wondering.
    I wonder if people live at some of these disused stations, and if they ever have a chance to ask the train to stop at their stations if they need to?

    • @driver667
      @driver667  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Some of the old stations are leased out to people. Some are lived in and others probably holiday homes. I doubt they would be able to get a regular train to make a stop for them though. 🤔👍😀

    I noticed the 130 sign corresponds with a sign beside the track. Can you tell me what that means please? Speed?
    Thanks. 🚂

    • @driver667
      @driver667  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's a curve board. Tells the driver the speed around the curve 👍😊

    You have two gauges from what I have observed: what are they and is it wide and standard gauge or is it standard and narrow gauge? Enjoying your videos. Thanks.

    • @driver667
      @driver667  ปีที่แล้ว

      In Victoria we have broad gauge (5'3") and the national standard gauge (4'8.5"). Glad to hear you enjoy the videos 👍😊

    What does the "H" mean on the speed boards ?

    • @driver667
      @driver667  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's the speed for vlocity railcars around that curve. 👍😊
