Oh my gosh, thank you both. I am a 73 year old quilter living in Middle, TN, USA. I started watching you because my Grandparents, Johan Erik Nordblom and Aina immigrated from Aland, Sweden, early 1900s to MA, USA. I wanted to learn something about their life/homeland in Scandinavia. They had 13 children, two died and lived in a converted barn, no running water or electricity for ever. And a lot of snow. My grandfather worked in home construction but I always wondered was he just homesick or hardy/tough? He came from a fishing family. It is easy to see the beauty but hardships and winter hunger were first. A teacher friend of mine warned me about "romanticizing" the past. Thank you for all the effort you both put into your channel, it always brightens my day.

Hi Barbara! This is Barbara from Vacaville. Last year, we were the devastating wildfire locale. This year, I am in tears every time I see our majestic trees turning into torches. I’m a 50-year resident of Northern California, and Lake Tahoe was the first place I visited after arriving in 1972. Until recently, camping at Tahoe was an annual event: Fallen Leaf Lake, Sugar Pine Point, and D. L. Bliss are my favorite locations. I could go on and on! You are in my prayers for safety and comfort

I have to tell a little story. McCalls Needlework and Crafts Fall and
Winter 1967 and 1968 published (and put on the cover) a black and white stranded colorwork tunic with embroidery on the neckline, cuffs, and hemline. It made this Swedish-American girl's heart go pitty-pat. I never forgot it. Two years ago I started looking for
The magazine. A big thank you to someone who took care of it for 54 years before they decided to part with it. Now,I am stunned!!!
The embroidery on Arne's sweater is EXACTLY like the 1967 magazine's tunic.
Thank you for your wonderful video. i now know the tunic design is from SETESDAL! And at last i am going to knit it.

It's so exciting to hunt for your ancestors. I recently began my genealogical background to find out when and where they came from in Europe, I'm in the USA and grew up in Pennsylvania. I'd done my DNA test a couple years ago so I had a general idea of location. So far, Switzerland and Germany are the countries. One ancestor was actually buried in the Atlantic on the way here. I'd traced both grandmother's families, next the grandfather's. 🥰🥰🥰

I bought the pattern book for the Norwegian Olympic ski team’s sweaters of the past 50 years. Ok…I bought it 15 years ago and have moved it all over the world with me. Maybe this series will inspire me to finally knit one. Or even better…maybe Arne & Carlos have designed a pattern to launch with their new wool and kits will be for sale…hint hint! Loving this look into Norway and it’s culture. Thank you.

Hi Arne and Carlos, this journey is going to be good. I cannot wait for the next video. Thanks for taking us along with you. The sweaters are beautiful. The craftsmanship that went in creating them are a work of art.

Gasoline is expensive and we are staying inside to avoid the heat and also avoiding contact to keep Co vid and other diseases from spreading. And we get to travel with you. Our family still owns land that was first lived on by our ancestors. The house is gone, but the younger ones have taken a bumpy tide on a truck to see the spot where the house once was. I am glad we have those memories.

Wow, you guys really outdid yourselves! Oh this is going to be so exciting, I can't wait! The scenery is just spectacular. What a privilege to be introduced to Arne's roots.
Congratulations on your new line with Rowan! Also, the sweaters are simply stunning. They give the right "flavour", shall we say, to all the lovely things we will see, hear, and learn.
Thank you so much for having this idea and for bringing us along. Also a big thank you to Eric for his great photography and filming.

This series is so exciting! Learning more about Setesdal and it’s folk traditions will greatly enhance an in-person visit. A Norwegian vacation is #1 my bucket list; knitting a Setesdal jacket is #2. Thank you for sharing your Setesdal roots with us. It’s such a beautiful place. And I adore your new yarn!

My mom still watches The Bold and The Beautiful... she's watched it since the 80s when I was a kid.
You guys look great in your sweaters! I love the embroidery, it's beautiful. That skirt is beautiful too 🥰

Arne and Carlos. Thank you for teaching us about the area and the customs. I love this series. I can’t wait for each episode, and am saving all of them to rewatch. The Sedestal is one of my favorite designs.

Enjoyed this episode! And I chuckled at needing room for a pony comment! Can’t wait to see more about all of the traditions.
