When it comes to Pros, this is the only product that won’t change the look of your iPhone’s camera area.
When it comes to Cons, these Glassfusion protectors will scratch between 2-3...a far cry from the 8-9 found on the iPhone.
You can easily take your finger and move the protectors around and photos taken with these movable protectors are terrible.
Ringke Camera Style
The Ringke Camera Styling has is that it changes the way the camera area looks. Instead of the nice frosted, glass, you can slap on a piece of metal. Just be careful, it doesn’t take much to pop it off.
When it comes to the cons, this isn’t going to offer much protection for the actual camera lens. There’s something to be said about adding a lip to the camera lens BUT that’s a moot point if you’re using a case.
The cutout around the flash is going to reduce the effectiveness of the flash along the edges of your photographs.
Spigen GlasTr 9H Camera Lens Protector
If you’re completely paranoid about shattering your camera lenses, Spigen GlasTr Slim camera protectors would be the one I’d recommend. There’s two in each package which is handy so when you drop your iPhone and break the protector, you can dwell in that false sense of security that the product actually did something.
When it comes to cons, your camera flash will be reduced and your photos of things taken with a direct light source will result in noticeable artifacts.
The tempered glass found in the Spigen GlasTr Slim camera protector scratches at a soft 6 so again, this product is going to scratch much quicker than the camera lens by itself.
Rhinoshield 9H Tempered Glass Lens Protector
If you really want to change the look of your camera lens, go with the Rhinoshield. The have a small multitude of different colors and the aluminum ring around the glass is larger than Shellrus’s product so it really draws your eyes to the protectors.
Now a pseudo pro for this product is that it scratches at 7 in stead of 6. Not great but better than average.
The last thing I don’t like about this product is that they come off quite easily. The adhesive on the product needs to be stronger.
Shellrus Sapphire Camera Lens Protector
So out of all these products, the Shellrus Sapphire Lens Protector is the only product that add’s MORE scratch protection to your len’s. My Moh’s 9 Pic does nothing to the protector whereas the 9 pic will leave tiny scratches on the iPhone 11’s camera lens.
The adhesive on the protectors is quite aggressive as we didn’t lose any during our testing period.
The only con I have with this product is that light artifacts are quite apparent when dealing with photos shot against direct light sources.

For me the camera lense protector are for preventing micro-scratches. This way, if you decide to sell your phone you can sell it at top dollar because of its good condition.

I’ve found it useful to use one of those fully flat lens protectors that covers the whole module so you can CLEAN everything at once and never get dust anywhere near the camera module area / between the cameras, etc.

The metal part of my lenses somehow got scratched and I couldn’t find anything to hide it. This looks absolutely perfect and I just ordered the Shellrus. 😁
I had the same thing less than 4 months of having my iPhone 13. Looked around, and found out it’s an issue since iPhone with no official statement/acknowledgment from Apple. So frustrated. (That’s why I’m looking at lens protectors too.)

@@AKDomingo it's not a scratch. the paint simply chipped. i chipped mine with my nail. i thought the they use the same material as the body, but it seems they cut corner for this part.

Great review, I only found out after I had bought a so called decent lens cover that the main issue was ghosting from using the flash. Why nobody has not designed a phone case where you have a simple sliding cover built on the right hand side of the cover is beyond me.

Monty really liked the Zagg one, and you threw it away. He is so funny and cute!!! I don't think I will buy a camera lens protector for my iPhone. I ended up swapping out my Rhinoshield lens protectors for the Shellrus ones within the past week and a half and I couldn't be happier. I was getting tired of the Rhinoshield lens protectors falling off and the inside of the lens that make contact with the actual camera lens smudging up really badly when trying to put the lens protector back on. And I do agree that changing the look of the iPhone with these protectors does give the phone a cool, new look to it. Again I love the Shellrus lens protectors, and I give thanks to you for the full review of that product before this video came out.
If I have a skin on the camera module could the shellrus lens protector still fit
Nicholas Cano Unfortunately it won’t fit. The lens protectors need something to hold onto as a foundational base (aka the camera lens modules). I too have a camera module skin from Rhinoshield that I haven’t been able to use since I received my first pair of lens protectors because the skin, after applied, creates an equal height to the lens modules, in which the lens protectors wouldn’t be able to latch onto the lens modules if the skin is on. You got to choose one or the other for the module.

Thank you! I was considering buying lens protection for my phone, but seeing the glare and other kind of artifacts on those photos, I won't spend my money on these.
Right? I removed mine after 3 days because when I tried it with flash on, the glare was bad
Get Ringke Camera Styling, it wont disturb anything like the lens, the flash, and easy to pluck it off
Does the Shellrus leave a residue from the adhesive? Did the rim on the camera scratch where you placed the Shellrus?
With the shelruss lens protectors installed, you cant even tell they’re on.

Oh the iPhone 12 Pro Max lens just broke lol. Only 2 weeks in. I changed my phone case to one that is only flush to the lenses. My mistake. So some how the lens cracked. (So get a case that lens protector sticks out further than the lens) and definitely a cover. I will get it replaced and whatever my friend days is the best. 😂
I'm not so sure your statement that an air gap between a lens protector and the lens will lead to distortion is optically valid. It was standard practice with 35 mm film cameras to use a clear UV or skylight filter to act as protection to the primary lens with an obvious large air gap between the UV or skylight filter and primary lens and this prudent practice would not lead to any distortion or artifacts - only protection. It is more likely protectors that you review that don't necessarily have an adhesive that adheres directly to the camera lens but rather has an air gap, is causing distortion or artifacts not from the air gap, but from lack of an AR coating.

Just because it doesn't protect as well as the actual lens does not mean it is useless - it provides an additional layer of protection which can help resale value for the phone.

just got a new iphone 13 pro, and I'm looking into camera lens protectors. My question that your videos on this subject don't seem to answer is: after you've scratched or cracked the protector through your testing, was there damage to the actual lenses? If no, then haven't the products done their job? The point of them is to prevent having to replace the more expensive lenses, no?
the point was to show that not all of them are *good* protective lenses. if you purchase one that scratches easily, then you'll have to keep replacing them probably every month or so. if you purchase one that has more or less the same scratch resistance, you don't need to replace them as often

I have the Tozo6 earbuds, and I like them. I have had them for 2 months. They have a nice sound quality, and work seemlessly. I have accidentally put one in the opposite ear, and it tells you to reverse it. Even if you try to put it in your ear wrong, it will tell you how to adjust it. Battery and charging are good. They charge wirelessly! For a modest price on Amazon, these are really good! Also, Amazon rates all products by sales in a numerical list, and will show you how they rate. There are so many Airpods knock offs. The Tozo6 case is bigger than Apple airpods so those cases won't fit. With ios14 update real air pods will be the best experience of all.

I'm not scared that I will BREAK my lens, I'm scared that I'll scratch my lens...If the lens protector gets scratched at a hard 7, i'll feel better at least thinking that it scratched the protector before the lens, even IF the lens on the iphone are harder than a 7/8....
