    You're a life- saver bro. I'm trying to create a monk fighter that uses a rope and ball like the girl in the crazy 8's from " Kill Bill" & I believe this will help. Question, should I add a bone to the balls at both ends or just keyframe the object? Which would you suggest?

    • @5MinutesBlender
      @5MinutesBlender  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      We have a rope, a handle at one end and a ball at the other end. We need to keepframe the handle which will in turn control the movement of the rope via cloth physics. The challenge is on the other end, we need the ball to move in tandem with the other end of the rope and this is not an easy task in Blender because it has very limited (or almost no) interaction between cloth and rigid body. Test with bones, if it does not work, we need to take help from drivers (to copy the location of the vertices at the other end of the rope and copy that to the ball).

      @@5MinutesBlender Thx for the advice. Actually she'll have balls at both ends of the rope so that she can do multiple attack's. I'm just trying to figure out how to make multiple parts of the rope pin points for when she grabs it to switch its trajectory. Seem's complicated but your video makes me believe it can be done. Just don't know how. Thx again.

    I am trying something similar to this for a socket. The swing physics works for the cable, but when I want to connect it to the other end of the cable with an object, it does not hold. How can I combine it with another obke at the other end?

    • @5MinutesBlender
      @5MinutesBlender  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That's actually challenging. You can move or deform a rope (cloth physics) using a rigid body because cloth can be deformed in shape. But the other way round is not possible, a rigid body cannot be dragged using cloth physics. You need something else for that and I am not aware of that "something else". Of course we can cheat and create an illusion of such a drag by manual ketframes etc, but a proper physics movement may not be possible as far as I know.

    the pressure figures as in the video do not change anything at all, how to make sure that the cable does not become a flat rag?

    • @5MinutesBlender
      @5MinutesBlender  17 วันที่ผ่านมา

      The pressure is used only for that. Did you try to increase the pressure value? If it does not make any impact with whatever value you set, there might be some problem (maybe with the geometry of the cable - just a blind guess) 🤔🤔 I can suggest better if I can see your blend file, our email ID is 5minblender@gmail.com Thanks!

    Thank you! Another terrific tutorial.
    I have a question, is there an easier and more precise way of placing the cord into the mic, I can't seem to get it centred and moving it around can create some awkward distortions.

    • @5MinutesBlender
      @5MinutesBlender  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you need to do it perfectly: 1) Snap the 3D cursor to the center of the top end of the wire 2) Move the origin point of the mic to the center of its bottom surface 3) Snap the mic to the 3D cursor. Now the wire will be attached to the center of the bottom surface of the mic. If you do not know how to do any of these steps described above, please let me know.

    • @5MinutesBlender
      @5MinutesBlender  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@bobdobs8855 Here you go. 1) Select the wire and go to the Edit mode. Select the vertices at the top end. Under Mesh menu, under Snap, select the option Cursor to Selected. 2) Select the mic in the Object mode. Under Object menu, under Snap, select the option Selection to Cursor. (In case you need to move the origin point, select the object and go to the Edit mode. Now select the face where you want to move the origin point, then under Mesh menu, under Snap, select Cursor to Selected. Now back to the Edit mode, under Object menu, under Set Origin, select the option Origin to 3D cursor).

    When you set the bevel distance to create a 'CABLE' from the spline, the next parameter was the spline resolution, using this instead of the Catmul-Clark subdivision would be a way way faster and more elegant way of doing it. Currently, each polygon is 64 polygons and the 36 division circumference of the cable is now 288 - its geometry you do not need, its wastefull of memory, processing and eats into render time.
    i.e. Its not professional.
