    it's seriously necessary to keep each loop separate? it won't work if they're merged into one long chain object? god that's horrendous... thank you for the video lol i was losing my mind trying to get it to work

    • @5MinutesBlender
      @5MinutesBlender  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yes, we need to keep each loop or each piece separate. That's how a real chain is made, and that's how we must do it here. If we join all those loops together as a single object, it will react to external objects but you won't get the collisions and the movements among them, it will just look like a stiff rod, not like a chain.

      For the demo video of this tutorial, I think it was 15-20 minutes, using Eevee.

    • @5MinutesBlender
      @5MinutesBlender  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      We are using rigid body physics here. Rigid body physics can be baked from the Scene tab in the properties editor.

    mine just explodes when i do it dunno what the problem is

    • @5MinutesBlender
      @5MinutesBlender  2 วันที่ผ่านมา

      It explodes if somehow you have overlapping objects (or objects that are too close) and you enable rigid body physics for them. Please inspect the chain and ensure that all the joints are sufficiently spaces apart from each other. Or increase the accuracy and iterations of the rigid body physics.

    Brother, which laptop do you use for blender? I also wanted to buy a laptop but I don't know which would be the best laptop for blender.

    • @5MinutesBlender
      @5MinutesBlender  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi, I have a couple of machines, right now using is a Dell Inspiron laptop. When it comes to laptop, Dell has an unparallel quality, and NVIDIA graphics cards are simply the best. Check the official guideline here: www.blender.org/download/requirements/

      We have a tutorial on greetings card animation 👉 th-cam.com/video/e01b971_gdY/w-d-xo.html This uses flipping, maybe you can reuse that technique for flipping pages from a book. I am anyway taking a note of this and I will try to make a tutorial on flipping book. Thanks for the suggestion 👍

      You can run Blender even on CPU, without a supported graphics card, but it will run slow - specially the rendering will be slow. Please check the compatibility of all AMD graphic cards from here en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_AMD_graphics_processing_units

      @5MinutesBlender  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@Crazytv-tu9sg Not instantly, otherwise the laptop chip-makers will get jobless 😂 It will render fast, within hours instead of days or weeks. There was a time when people literally spent weeks just to render a video (or hours for a single frame). That is now reduced by 80 to 90 percent.

    I want to wrap up hands of character of chains so they don`t fall, any tips?

    • @5MinutesBlender
      @5MinutesBlender  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I am not sure if I understood it correctly, but if you want to fix the two ends of the chain, set both of them as Passive rigid body. They will take take part in the rigid body animation but they themselves won't fall, so the entire chain will hang from the two ends like a garland, it won't free fall.

    • @insertanynameyouwant5311
      @insertanynameyouwant5311 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@5MinutesBlender I mean I just want to wrap up arms of character with chains (2 different chains for each arm), like if it was a mummy, but chains instead of bandage, don`t know if it became more understandable lol. Something like Ghost rider if you`ve seen

    • @5MinutesBlender
      @5MinutesBlender  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@insertanynameyouwant5311 Something like the thumbnail of this video? I did that my manipulating the gravity. I let the chain fall on the cube under gravity. Then I reversed the gravity, so the loose ends of the chain wrapped the box and started "hanging upward". Then I again reversed the gravity, so the loose ends again came down. Doing it several times created that wrap effect. There are other ways to do this as well without manipulating gravity. Keep one end of the chain fixed, and use another rigid body (maybe a pin) to move the other end of the chain around the target object to wrap it. This needs more effort but the result will be more realistic in this case.

    • @TURURURU1992
      @TURURURU1992 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@insertanynameyouwant5311 It occurs to me that you should wrap chains around his arms just as you would in real life, then linking the ends of the chain would be a single circular object that would prevent him from falling off his arms.
      Otherwise, if the model is in motion so that it does not move, you will have to link some additional chains to the body but invisible to the visible one or in case you animate this frame by frame

    • @TURURURU1992
      @TURURURU1992 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Another idea is to create rings on the same arm that are thick enough in the wrist area and they will allow creating the space where the chain goes. There should be 2 of them, leaving a separation where the chain will move. The bracelets or rings would be invisible and the chain would be moving in the entire middle, which would prevent it from moving to the end of the hand or towards the armpit in case you are raising your arms.@@insertanynameyouwant5311
