    I recently tried Incredible Suds, I really like it. I do agree, it is really thick and requires some rinsing of the mixing cup to get all the product out. But it is a great product, awesome suds and slick on the paint. I like all the DIY Detail products, Yvan and Nick have really knocked it out of the park with all their products. Their Rinseless is awesome too, and I've even foamed it 😀

    Brother, honestly speaking, I've used both of these along with Mr. Pink and they foam really well, but they do not clean very well and do not lubricate very well in my honest opinion as compared to the soap I'll be mentioning next. Out of all the shampoos/soaps I've tried, the cheap Meguiar's Gold Glass does the best by far. It foams well enough, but when I move on to do my contact wash after foaming, it feels the smoothest/slickest by far meaning it lubricates the most and the cleaning power is ages above these soaps. I don't know why, but it just leaves my cars/trucks looking their best too. There's way more than just how much a soap foams. Stay up brotha! 🤘🏽🤙🏽

    I just washed my 2011 Tacoma with the Ego Power Washer I recently got this weekend. That Adams Mega Foam is some awesome stuff mayne! I used a ounce per foam cannon fill, just as you seem to do in the video here and it smells great too! I'm not a fast person with the power washer, so I used a ounce per side of my truck. Sweet Jesus, bonus ASMR content on the video!
    Hahaha, let me clarify my stance on foaming …
    Yes, I believe foaming is nonsense. I have stood by that since it was introduced and became popular. That does NOT mean I don’t use it. No, not professionally, but at home for sure. Yes, I use APC in the foam each time … because it IS silly without it imo.
    More clarification; My experience has been that coated or waxed vehicles benefit more from a foam bath. But you can literally get the same results by a quick rinse off without adding that extra step. Thus, it’s nonsense because I mostly do maintenance washes. Foaming is not needed, adds time and cost to the detail.
    I do not think foam thickness or dwell time makes any difference to the overall cleaning capability of any soap unless it’s a decon soap. I mean, maybe if you let the soap soak on the paint for an hour or so … maybe. But then, if you do, the soap dries on the paint and it’s a mess.
    I am NOT advocating to stop using foam. Not at all. It has no place in my professional arsenal, but that’s me and my opinion. If it’s working for you, great! The point is to enjoy what you’re doing, right?
    EDIT: I will be trying a few DIY Detail products in the near future. Because … why not?
    EDIT: If you want to know what soap I use professionally, it’s PDP M91 Cherry Suds. It’s roughly $80 for 5 gallons (dilution = 1 ounce per gallon). Yeah, nobody has ever heard of it. For rinseless, I still use OnR.
    😊😊😊

      Thanks for sharing skull. What I meant with working time is I like to foam the car and make my way around with the wash mitt. The longer it hangs on the longer I have to get around the car with the mitt before it starts drying. It’s all just technique and we all have plenty of them. Hahahaha. I agree with you foam is a luxury. It one of the things that I enjoy when it makes sense. Thanks for always giving you perspective.

    I just got the incredible suds. It's too thick of a formula in my opinion. I wish that Nick and Ivan would have made something that pours into the cannon resevior with not too much residue in the measuring cup. Even though it's not a big deal to pour more water into the measuring cup and swishing it around to thin out the product and pour the remainder into the cannon, it's still a user experience issue. The thinner soaps that perform to this level are a better option for me personally, but hey, you can't argue that Incredible Suds is a solid performer in the cannon itself, especially when you use a quality foam cannon like the Griot's BOSS or their Brilliant Finish Foam Cannon (another exceptional foam cannon that doesn't get recognized as much as their more famous BOSS cannon). If they could revamp the foam density of the soap and thin it out considerably to allow for an easy pour, DIY would be at the top of the heap for sure. It performs well. Of course, Adams goes without saying. It's always been at the top of the foam game since it's release. Although even the Adam's soap is too thick in my opinion. This is why the new Pan The Organizer soap may be a future contender for a great soap. I haven't tried it personally YET, but I will be soon. From what I have seen on reviews so far, it's a really thin and very pourable concentrated soap. Of course it's brand new so we'll see how it performs over time and against some of the other recognized brands. I know Carbon Collective has a really good one (or at least they did a couple of years ago) which is very thin, very easy to pour into the measuring cup, leaving almost nothing left behind which is a big plus for me, and it foams great too. I don't know why these companies make a soap that is so thick it barely pours. That doesn't make a good user experience for anyone using it. Even if it does perform well. The problem with soaps that are too thick is that on the handheld foamers that you get on Amazon, they aren't going to perform all that well. The soap will get too thick in the cannon reservoir/bottle, and it will just sputter out the end of the foam sprayer you are using. Trust me, I have tried countless foam soaps in a hand held foam sprayer and you really need to have the correct chemical, or they just won't perform. I personally have found that using a very thin consistency soap works far better in the HAND HELD foam sprayers that are so popular now days. In addition, only one or two of them give you the performance that I would consider even to an "acceptable" level for most users at home. I have thrown away countless foam sprayers after just a couple of uses, either because they break (which is a LOT of them off of Amazon which mostly sells junk sprayers) or they simply don't perform that well at all and the solutions just sputters out the end with hardly any real foam, they are far too watery and don't produce hardly any foam, or the foam is so gosh darned thick, again, it just sputters out the end of the foam sprayer. Again, other people might be getting great results, but I have tried a bunch of the handheld foamers and you really don't want to skimp on buying a handheld foamer. Spend a few extra bucks (wait and save up if you have to) and get something like the IK. I know they are pricey, but really, it's only $10 more than the cheapo ones on Amazon. If you want something that is going to perform, even with these thicker types of foam soaps, the IK line of handheld foamers is your best bet. In fact, I am surprised that IK hasn't released their own version of a pressure washer foam cannon to compete against something like the MJJC V3, the MTM line, or the Griot's BOSS foam cannons which are three of the best performing foam cannons for pressure washers on the market today. They have dominated the handheld sprayer and pump up sprayer markets (at least in the detailing world) for years now. To be honest, I don't really care about the super thick shaving cream foam. Sometimes, it's far too aerated and just sits on the paint without really getting to the paintwork because it's mostly AIR. It looks fantastic for sure, but is it really performing the way it should be. You want the soap to loosen and get underneath of the grit and grime on the paint and then pull that contamination down to the ground and off the paint BEFORE you touch it with a wash mitt. I think a good balance of very thick foam, but enough water in the foam to sit there a second or two, loosen up the junk, and then pull that down is far better than super thick shaving cream foam that just sits there but never really PENETRATES the dirt and grime. By having it just a little more watery, it loosens and penetrates better in my opinion. Again, these are just my experiences over the many years I have been using a hand held foam sprayer, and/or foam cannon. Currently my two favorite cannons for the pressure washer are the Griot's BOSS, and the Griot's Brilliant Finish Foam Cannons. Both give exceptional foam. The BOSS is my favorite because of the metering tips which is a great innovation. I love just being able to hook up my product bottle right to the cannon using the metering tips and it draws whatever amount of chemical I need to foam up. It saves you so much wasted product. Why overmix up product only to pour it out or just use it up by spraying way more than you need onto the paint and just wasting it. I know the product makers love when you do that, but why do it if you don't have to. The metering tips are a game changer for sure. Griot's must have a patent on that system. If not, every other foam cannon maker would be doing it, which they should, because it's a great system. As far as a handheld foamer. Solo makes a really unique foamer with a variable wheel on it which allows you to adjust the amount of air mixing into the system when the foam is spraying giving you the ability to adjust the foam density coming out. It's a great feature and really allows you to adjust it so you get the best spray pattern coming out. And they are reasonably priced too. IK is still one of the best ones. I am excited they just released the new BATTERY POWERED handheld foamer with a small battery on the bottom of the sprayer. From the videos I have seen at SEMA, those things look incredible. Very thick foam with a really wide dispersal pattern which can cover a rim and tire in just one swipe across. They aren't cheap, but again, as they say "You get what you pay for". I'm not a guy who is brand loyal to anything. I just want the most efficient way to do whatever I am doing, and additionally, want a QUALITY product that will give me years of service. I am willing to pay for a quality product if it's built like a tank and will give me uncompromised performance throughout its service life. I am the same way with my chemicals. I don't care what they cost or what name brand it is, just give me something that works, and works exceptionally well, whether its cheap or expensive. Polishangel is a brand I use as an example. CRAZY expensive, but their products just work so gosh darned good, I am willing to pay for it. Swissvax is the same way, stupid expensive, but I still love their products. I am old school. I've been detailing my vehicles for about 45 years and I still love waxing my vehicles. I get people every day coming up to me asking what product I used to get my paint so brilliant and glossy with a mirror reflection. Most are shocked when I tell them it's a simple car wax I have been using for well over 30 years. Granted, I do keep my car garage kept, never drive it in bad weather if I can avoid it, and keep it in pristine condition. You don't need all these fancy ceramic coatings if you like to take care of your car. Just a great wax or sealant is plenty. Especially if you wash your vehicle weekly. Waxes and sealants perform exceptionally well, yes, even in 2024 when the world "CERAMIC" is all the rage. I do think a ceramic coating is a great idea for a daily driver. But for me, it's wax all the way. I'm also not a big fan of all this "touchless" washing as most of the chemicals used in a touchless game is stripping your waxes, sealants, and even some ceramic coatings right off your paint! They are very high PH or low PH soaps that strip off not only the dirt and grime (which they do well for sure) but they are also stripping the wax or sealant off your paint too. I told a friend of mine this the other day and he had no idea that he was stripping the wax he worked so hard to apply to the paint right off the paint the first wash he did with a touchless wash. Happy detailing ya'll. 🤪

    In the UK we're not fussed about how the foam looks - we only care about the net result, how much dirt has it taken off when it's rinsed. Less dirt left behind, less chances of swirls and marring. If anyone has ever used Bilt Hamber touch-less snow foam, you know how it punches anything on the market, nothing can touch it in performance and the amount of dirt it realises. It's not a thick foam and it doesn't need to be. It's a bit alkaline so it breaks down encrusted dirt like it's nothing. Adam's, P&S, Carpro, Gyeon, has nothing on Bilt Hamber touch-less snow foam! Prove me wrong.

    The amount of foam does not tell you how well it cleans. The Incredible Suds has a slightly higher PH value at about 8.5, which is great for a pre-wash foam as it cleans a little better, while the Mega Foam has a somewhat lower PH but is designed to cling more. It depends on what you want from your foam cannon wash; the amount of foam alone is not what matters.

    • @HawaiiDetailing
      @HawaiiDetailing  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I agree mostly except with a higher PH pre wash scenario thin runny foam sheets off fast minimizing dwell time. Thick foam hangs on longer and dries slower allowing a much longer dwell time. This longer dwell time allows the product to work longer and be more effective. With a PH neutral soap - pre contact wash foam a thicker foam/longer dwell time = more time to make your way around the vehicle while washing without drying. A thin foam runs off fast and reduces your working time. If its too thin you will not make it all the way around the whole car before the drying/spotting starts. In a warm/hot climate this few extra minutes can make all the difference. Thats my thoughts.

    I've been doing mobile detailing for a few months and efficiency is something I really focus on. Sure it looks cool to do the whole snow foam thing, but I think it's a waste of time and I'm curious how you feel about it. The reason I say it's a waste of time is because when it comes to preventing scratches, foam isn't what's required, lubrication is! Foam is something you see in carpet and upholstery cleaners. It does that to get around the fibers to be able to lift dirt. It's also in our shampoos. But it's purely there because people like to lather up when washing their hair. It serves no cleaning purpose. And I imagine snow foam was introduced as a way to get more soap on the car when doing a 2-bucket method wash. Which, cool, but also, how very 1980s of us to still be washing a car that way, right?
    It's been my experience that I can wash a car faster, with no scratches, and in the hot sun, spotless using a rinseless wash. I still use a pressure washer for the tires but I'm not prewashing the car with it. Not unless the vehicle is caked in dirt and grime.
    So I would suggest that the soaps that you recommend are the best soaps for that particular wash method. But that the wash method itself is old fashioned, in the same way that applying paste wax is old fashioned. The actual best soap of the year, in my opinion, is WOLFGANG CONCOURS SERIES WG-1650 Uber SiO2 Rinseless Wash. The cleanliness and shininess that product produces literally stuns all of my customers. They can't stop looking at their vehicle it's so good.
    But you tell me? Would you rather wash a car with 1 bucket with 2 gallons of distilled water + 1 oz of Wolfgang along with half a dozen microfiber towels (doing a version of the Gary Dean Method), where you wipe down and then immediately dry the vehicle one panel at a time, or do you want to have to rinse the car down first. Then foam the car. Then hand wash the car. Then rinse the car. Then apply some kind of wax/sealant/top coat? I mean, I know which one I'm picking.
    As a business owner, I'm looking for the best, most efficient ways to get vehicles clean. From that perspective, is there ever a reason to use the older, slower method?

    • @Reaper-Jim
      @Reaper-Jim 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Coming from someone who’s been doing it since the 80’s I can tell you a few things …
      Rinseless washing is NOT faster than traditional washing. I’m sorry TH-camrs, it’s just not. People with ignorant techniques often get confused with people who have smarter techniques. The one glaring “pro” that rinseless has over traditional is the cost per wash. Nothing beats rinseless for value. It’s not even close. More advantages over traditional is that rinseless wash can be used as interior cleaning solutions, including glass. Traditional soap? No. Please don’t try it.
      Why use traditional? Well, like rinseless, it has its advantages. Like, for example, you get around the vehicles quicker if you’re not pre-rinsing, pre-foaming, rinsing, foaming again and … nonsense. The point I’m making, foam is NOT part of traditional washing. Never has been. Another “pro” for traditional is that it is a much better cleaner than ANY rinseless wash even if you use rinseless straight with no dilution, it’s just not as effective. This means you can clean wheels and tires fairly well with traditional soaps.
      Super dirty vehicles. I’m sorry but rinseless washing a super dirty vehicle is just a bad time all around. Traditional washing is the way to go.
      Which one is better, though? If you’re such a smart guy, tell us Skull … okay … neither. Each technique for washing vehicles have their place except for waterless washing, which I find absolutely pointless. Opinions. I reckon we all have them.

Smell? That means nothing to me. I think if you really want value, you don't use either of these super expensive products. As a pro you should be shopping at a place that fills gallon containers from 50 gallon drums at a discount. Brand your own bottles so the customer see a consistent professional look. These bulk products work hard and produce results in the right hands. For most car enthusiasts and home owners a high quality product that checks every single box with a top tier user experience is a better bet. No risk and Guaranteed results. Also a gallon of great product @ 1oz per cannon would last most non pro users a year at least so the price is far less of an issue.
