I use the left lower analogue paddle for my clutch (amputee, can't use foot clutch) and that's starting to spike after years of constant use, hoping a strip and clean will do the trick. Still, a good wheel considering how long I've used it now.
after many years on this actual rim I'd suggest going for the full leather variant over the alcantara model, no matter how much you try to preserve the material it's dilapidation is inevitable, that's the only gripe I have with my purchase, the wheel itself is expensive but awesome, it's got weight to it when fully built, feels quite solid like a real life wheel, rim is a little thin, I changed recently to a R300 rim, slightly bigger and doesn't allow for the button plate as the rim design is slightly different, the sticks get in the way of the rim so it won't sit flush, rim is slightly bigger and much fatter, don't mind losing the button box as I've a pretty substantial dash with all that all built in...
@@projectkurvz9424 hehe I did actually have to do that just to fit this rim, I don't mind it tbh and I can always revert back if need be, like Seth, I don't care much for the flat bottom rim either as I like a round wheel with being more of a rally fan then track racer.
I had this wheel with the leather rim and the podium hub / APM shifters to use also on my DD2, to be honest I was disappointed with the overall quality of the button plate, it creaked and sounded very plasticy with some flex, I own two cube controls wheels, and they are made to a much higher standard, the APM shifters are pretty good no complaints there, I had several button caps crack, the buttons feel cheap, and I agree the Oled screen is too small to be much using in race, I ended up swapping the shifters to club sport version and put the APM on my formula rim. Being a podium, rim I was very disappointed sold it after about a year of it sitting on a shelf, I still have the Fanatec McLaren and the BMW GT2, I really think Fanatec have some awesome kit, but this isn't one of the IMO.
I never had any issues with the button box creaking or flex myself. The buttons do feel cheap but they’re tactile. Somewhere Fanatec could definitely improve. I never cared for the button caps so I never used them myself but I’ve heard they’re pretty terrible. I agree if you’re willing to go out of the ecosystem, there’s definitely better options.
Maybe I had a bad one, I have owned many Fanatec products and I always keep the hardware that does the job for me, and my DD2 has always performed above and beyond, and will be in use for many years I'm sure. Great channel keep up the good work @@AeroVeloce
If I was in the fanatec ecosystem yea, but like I said I’d go for the non Porsche round wheel instead. I’m not a fan of the fanatec wheels that have rev lights in the top of the handle and I prefer the button box much more than the Clubsport options.
Fanatec have some great hardware and some not so great I have many Fanatec items, but I'm not a Fanboy, I think they may have lost their edge and become complacent with the susses and really need to keep an eye on the ball before they become more insignificant in the sim world
Great review keep them coming 🏁

Maybe you could put a few spacers to avoid the rim impeding your sticks ?

Have you tried the QR2 yet?
I have not but I hear it’s great
Not sure if I believe your final recommendation. You really would buy it again? If seems like the fit and finish is suspect.

Then why do you have the Advanced Paddle Module if you say that you dont use it?
Fanatec spend shit tons on advertising and fuck all on R&D or fixing known issues with their junk. I would advise spending your money elsewhere.
