You always make your rides more enjoyable with the information you provide along the way. You must be a very analytical guy to gather, organize, and present all those facts. It adds a lot to your videos.
Very enjoyable: Well done!I No need to apologize for it being at night. It was so good it stands on it's own as if you preferred to ride at night, plus no risk of washout from sun glare from uncooperative lighting angles.
When I went to college in White Plains, I'd always ride the M3s if I could, or I'd ride at the back of the shore-liner cars with the P32AC-DMs. I loved the RFW spots.
Great video, great ride on the M3 and you got an assist from the conductor! All the times I have gone to NYC I never rode Metro North. I need to do a joyride one of these days.
ive taken this train at all times of day and its always nice when looking to take some time to yourself, next thing to happen down the line is heading to danbury or take a nice long walk on the rail train with all its history.
Local trains used to skip the Bronx stations south of fordham road and Wakefield most of the time. I don’t know about current stops but it was very few trains that stopped in the southern Bronx stations. Wakefield had more trains than those but still most skipped it.
@@3985uprr All good. I believe Dynamite was the storage company used for the I-684 construction and City Water is where the local municipality DPW prob checks the water.

Thanks for the ride and History lesson...JP

Good thing theyre staying for a few years while LIRR's M3s are almost gone
It was fantastic to see metro north front view! I also loved your commentary. Thank you very, very much!
I like riding on the train at night. Love seeing the lights coming into the city .
Nice job Guys 💯
Nice night time ride on Metro North Harlem Line. Thanks Tim 💚👌
Nice nightime video of the Metro North, thanks very much.

Great job, interesting perspective with the darkness!!
Nice Head Lights 😺✨😉
Awesome Ride 😎😺✨
I Like This Tunnel Very Well Lit
Excellent video! I hope you will make these night-time RFWs something of a regular occurrence.
Whatever Irish luck I encounter
All aboard...the night train!

1:08:26 Melrose. The right side where it leads you to Yankee Stadium.
I want to Get a Motor Man's License 😂😄
Great video
The first private crossing is Dynamite. The second dirt road crossing is City Water.
I was looking on a map and I didn’t see any names to those roads

Why are the platforms in the USA always so short and the trains so long? What sense does that make? Why don't they rebuild it?
Wondering who was calling out the switch linings on the apptoach tracks and why.
Conductor. They have to do that when coming into a stub end terminal.
What, no Fordham Road?😪
Narrow platforms and short trains compared to the LIRR..... They also don't seem to have peak speeds of 80mph either ! So different from Penn !
Wonder why there was a station in a cemetery? Was it for ghost trains? (Sorry, couldn't resist)
Anyone knows if and when MNR is getting M9s?
I think they recent set up an agreement to get them
@@3985uprr metro north are usually always late getting new stuff
see no lineside signals from Southeast. Is it cab signal territory or TWC or Absolute Block or CBTC or Moving Block?
Cab signals. Signals mainly at interlockings
What does the RFW stand for?
Railfanning window
Did they move GCT over to Penn Station?
First! This is amazing! 👍😊👍
Did you arrive on the upper or lower level of Grand Central?
Upper. Track I goes to UL
Love the MNR, but can I ask what your favorite place on the island for egg and cheese and/or bagel?
I don’t eat those.
@@3985uprr :0 apologies, not pizza/pasta recs either I suppose?
Curious, with Danbury CT being so close, was there or is there any plans to extend the Harlem line to Danbury?
No plans
Whats the max speed on the Harlem line and the fastest sections?
75 I think
i can notice this is a 6-car train
That tunnel after 96th Street is a bit creepy.
What is a loop track?
Track loops around and goes back north again. They used them years ago so they didn’t have to turn locomotives
@@3985uprr like the 6 train at City Hall station?
Dilatory and slothful? Sounds like the MBTA.
😂😂😂😂
Enjoyed the trip as usual. What trains use the lower level at GCT ?
Mainly weekday and rush hour trains
Awesome scenery and video
How do you do RFW videos
Like are you friends with the MTA operators or something?
I just asked.
@@3985uprr Wouldn't the cab be occupied though since the workers are inside it or something?
@@NS1221Productions it has a railfan window that’s not in the cab.
@@3985uprr Ah gotcha
Okay thank you for telling me that
whats relacing there M3's?
In the future Metro north will be getting M9A's to replace their fleet of M3A's
