I’ve been busy to say the least. You could call what I do an extracurricular activity and I’m very dedicated to it. I don’t believe you should get involved with an extracurricular activity if you’re always looking at your watch to see what time it is during the activity, but when I do this I look at my watch to make sure that I don’t miss a train.
The elimination of all grade crossings between Floral Park and Hicksville is a great safety improvement. They need to do the same in the vicinity of Farmingdale station, and anywhere else on the system where they can eliminate superfluous crossings.
I was at Woodside recording that I saw the train go by but was texting so I only got a last second shot. This was at 4:58 PM when it passes on Track 4.
Another excellent video and narration....thank you. I do have a question: Is the train speed determined by the engineer or schedule or some other factor when all things are equal (straight track and clear signals)? I was watching two of your other videos - one from Long Beach to Penn and the other from Penn to Ronkonkoma and in that straight track between Jamaica and Woodside these two operators were going significantly slower compared to this engineer despite having clear signals and straight stretch of track in all cases. I think in the Long Beach video you said you zoomed out with the camera and the perception was a slower speed but, it didn't look like that. Thanks!!!
6:45 first rfw over that new section of track! Looks good and quiet compared to 7:17 when you pass over the older switches in Harold hopefully that bypass is completed sometime next year
Thanks for the video, I moved from Carle Place back to Philly in 2018, so glad to see everything completed. Didn't know about the new Islanders station. Is that like Belmont Race Track station and only used for games?
Thank you for another, fantastic video! I noticed the noise at the train went faster (sounds like the old subway cars). I also noticed recently a similar sound on the newer cars. My office is opposite LIRR tracks. Did the LIRR add a noise to the trains so that they could be heard by workers more easily (or something like that)?
If it’s blinking, then train orders are to be picked up but since the tower is closed, you shouldn’t be seeing that flashing anymore unless due to an emergency
That was me at Pinelawn
Tim,
Great head end video again! You are so right about autumn being such a fleeting season.
That's The Headlights I Need awesome 💯😎

If you like traction motor sound, you will love my recent Montreal Metro video
@@3985uprr I'll make sure to check it out. Been busy with over time work. Plan to take a holiday vacation.
Funny, the horn on the M3 sounds very similar to the Silverliner IV's!!
To me they don’t sound the same. They are stronger sounding
I literally thought they were having some kind of 24 car equipment move at 22:38!
It freaked me out for a few seconds

Fascinating ride. The triple track speedway is amazing. Thanks Tim👌💚
My favorite part is pulling into Ronkonkoma in the evening after a long day!!!

Farmingdale has a lot
unfortunately I missed this train at Mineola so I had to take a different train, which ended up getting stuck for 2 hours at Deer Park

Have the platforms at Forest Hills and Kew Gardens been lengthened? They certainly look longer than they used to be.
They were a few years ago

Mainly a draft thru the door
Thanks for the ride! What's with the red side-arm signal at Hicksville?

So much more interesting then the dreary Caltrain run. 😁
Caltrain wasn’t so bad. I did 5 trips. It was fun!!!!!
@@3985uprrdidn’t say bad. Said dreary. Which scenery do you prefer? 😂
@@jrbergsten Well, palm trees were a nice change of pace for me. That’s scenery I’m not used to 😀😀
