- Glad to have gotten a ride with this engineer on the T as he has moved on in his railroading career. I wish him well in his endeavors. (As an important disclaimer, I wouldn’t recommend doing these type of rides and talking to the engineer. It can be distracting. He didn’t object but, needless to say, I won’t do this again!! )

Thankyou for your time sir.
I live in brockton I teak the train to Boston once a month on a Saturday.
I like to go shopping 🛍 at downtown crossing Boston.
Thankyou Thankyou your time today And have a wonderful weekend 😊
Hy my stop ✋
Always a pleasure.
Like ham and eggs.
Thanks for the up-front ride video! This is one of the Commuter lines I ride often, and it serves one of my previous towns of Holbrook. Ive also seen out the RFW on that same line and on the Kingston and Providence Lines
Wow you are like the energizer bunny. The great videos never stop.🐰
This was awhile ago that I reuploaded
I live on this line which just makes this video even better.

Nice Ride. I'm looking forward to riding this line a lot when they finally open the New Bedford extension. Then the long wait (65 years!) and many delays will be forgiven.
I felt like this looked familiar but then I remember the fact that you took it down I don't remember why I recall you not wanting to talk about it but I'm happy that you re-uploaded it as I love this format (to a point where this is top five favorite videos) I'm happy to know that you made it back to the east coast ok (assuming your posting this from LI) I can't wait to see your next video 😊
Loving the front view videos
I get what I can get when I can get it.
Great video, sir!!! My favorite part is from 56:23 when you're riding into South Station with the Downtown Boston skyline as a backdrop. Just a beautiful view. 😊
titicut st is my personal favorite railfanning spot! happy you came down on my line :)
also nice video as always!
Great. ride! Thanks Tim👌💚
thank you for posting this. I always wanted to get a cab ride by my house.
Think this was a reupload from a few months back lol. Remember watching it. Great video though!
Love front view
Welcome to my occasional commuting. Thanks for the video!
1702!, i rode on this engineer's last train!
Great uploads.... Your videos are also very educational
Thanks a lot
I do remember this video I think I watched it before you took it down You also had another one but I did not see that one
Welcome back to mass! Hope u enjoyed it!
That was awhile ago
Best cab ride yet!
Brandon Simon Great Engineer I’ve also moved on From Keolis to Amtrak, But hey catch him on LIRR and me On the corrider!
Wish you the best of luck at Amtrak
Can I ask why you made the switch? I heard from some guys in the yard of people who went from Amtrak to Keolis. Also, did they make you go to Delaware even though you were already certified?
@@acelakid94 I can’t speak for him.
@@acelakid94 Hey man so to answer your questions, I made the Switch because believe it or not I lived all the way in CT at the time Keolis was the only railroad that hired me on as an Assistant Condcutor so I took the opportunity, at the same time I drove two hours (4 in total) to and from work everyday with Keolis as I lived in CT. So the last few months amtrak hired me and I made the switch for the better I now am out of the new york crew base. and to answer your second question Yes I still did go to Delaware but I am not certified not as an AC cause your just an AC, but as a Conductor you need to be Certified and qualified for whichever territory or segment you train on that's a whole different story. in my personal opinion I was very lucky to start off passenger and end with a better passenger agency ass opposed to doing freight than doing passenger but everyone starts off somewhere haha.
@@JoseRamirez-mg4pn Holy crap, that’s a hell of a commute! Good for you for finding a different gig and avoiding the freight companies. I’m in mechanical at Amtrak trying to make my way over to transportation. How do you like the AC job?
Also enjoyed all your videos of San Francisco caltrains. Down here in Orlando we have a commuter rail called SunRail they look a lot like the MP36s I think their MP32s I was reading about them they were actually converted freight locomotives from Marc. Look up types of locomotives for SunRail
My kinda horn! Nice and quiet. Can go deaf with the 5 chimers.
Hey Tim I thought this was the one you previously posted and took down You told me it was a long story I wondered what happened to him reading the comments sounds like he went back to Long Island railroad That's a good thing enjoyed this video
He’s no longer with mbta. He moved on to other railroad ventures.
The red line trains you passed coming to JFK/UMASS were 1800's from 93-94. The oldest in service are the 1500's from 69
I rode on those when they were fairly new in 1970
It’s ironic how you mention NYA and Coastal as you pass the garbage cars. Those very cars operate on NYA also. I can tell by the graffiti from the local vandals that spray in Fresh Pond yard.
Those cars get around
U should do Hyannis cape cod to Boston
You must have been on the double decker cab car
07:23 "not much out here" - you are passing the ground of the MCI (Mass. Correctional Institutional Complex) Prison. aka the "Other College" in Bridgewater, MA.
Hey Horn Guy? What are the different beeps and bells in the cab mean?
Safety warnings. Speed restrictions
I wonder if you can do the Kingston line
The oldest Red Line cars are the # 01500 and # 01600 series built by Pullman Standard in Chicago the # 01700 series were built by UDTC of Canada the # 01800 series were built by Bombardier of Canada which brought the UDTC of Canada the # 01900 are the newest cars they were built by CRRC of China
Yes, and ironically enough, as this train was rolling through the Red Line ROW, there were nothing but 01800s which were made fom 1992-94, 015/01600s made in 1969-71 and the 01700s made from 1986 through 1988 and the CRRC 01900s started construction in 2019 and still ongoing
Train moves a lot faster if you play the video at twice the speed. Now if that train moved that fast in real life ...
We did 70 in spots
@@3985uprr for a commuter service that top speed is pretty good.
How you doing retired rail guide you're back in the neck of the woods with two blockbusters running the Boston train in the Long Island also like your teaching the engineer you just have just a having fun question why you never got into the railroad I know you was with the airlines before you officially retired
Not meant to be I guess
Do you have a Worcester one?
Sounds like someone has a square wheel
MBTX 1702
Is that a dead man switch that keeps going off?
I believe so
Does that train have square wheels?
I would bet that this track did not look this good in the 1960's?
Under NH ownership, I’m sure it was a basket case. Deferred maintenance and they were in bankruptcy.
Here they grow our smarts on trees?
seems youve learned that the HSP isnt all that bad aha
It has more virtues than a Silverliner 4. Powerfully sounding startup and a good K5LA horn. The SV4’s have none of this. Their strong suit is their durability. I still think the HSP‘s look ugly.
@@3985uprr i mean hell you can think it looks ugly but its a rocket nbs
4.6k HP is way better compared to 3k thats equipped with the 3c
@@NortheastCorridorFilms It is what it is 🤷
@@3985uprr 😂 God bless you bro love ur videos
I am guessing you were in 1702. It sounds like it
Don’t recall
Oh that’s alright@@3985uprr
At the end of the video you can see the 1702 numberboard from the exterior.
I didn’t notice that. Thanks@@MbtaVideoClips
@@MbtaVideoClips stinky horn
Video is great, but that horn is pathetic!
Agreed!!!!!
Tim, I wouldn't talk to the engineer while the train is moving, wHEN i WAS AN ENGINEER ON THE muS i NEVER HAD ANYBODY INCLUDING MY BOSS THE RFof E TALK TO ME WHILE I WAS MOVING..You may be held responsible with the engineer if something happens especially a crossing accident or a station accident I am a retired Road foreman of Engines on one of the roads you travel on. On an accident that I investigated, passengers were brough in to the trial and the engineer was given 90 days on the street and the company paid a price for the accident. I reminded you a year or so before. BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU DO, YOU COULD PAY A PRICE FOR THIS.....
He’s not on this railroad anymore. He’s moved on the engineers.
You know we talk in the cab all the time right?😂 Especially us freight guys😆
