I actually saw a comment on another video about how the two forms of Urshifu could have been hinting at the two battle styles in Pokémon Legends Arceus: Rapid Strike Urshifu->Agile style/Single Strike Urshifu->Strong style. It’s not my theory, but it does make sense, especially since Mustard, the trainer who gives you Kubfu in the Isle of Armor bears a striking resemblance to Iscan, one of the wardens in Pokémon Legends Arceus. Plus the Shield Pokédex entry for Single Strike Urshifu talks about it “inhabiting the mountains of a distant region,” which could be a reference to Hisui/Sinnoh.
Calyrex’s battle theme from Crown Tundra has a few snippets of the trainer battle theme for Generation 4, being Diamond & Pearl obviously, although a bit slower. Another cool hint. Perhaps deeper than I thought? Maybe they will tie in Calyrex to the Sinnoh lore somehow… Probably not. Lol
I think the next region being Italian makes sense, since Galar being based off of England, has Circhester, based off of Bath, which was a Roman town. Falinks also appears to be based on Roman helmets and fighting strategies. This could easily mean that the Italian Region had influence and had possibly occupied Galar at some point

Need to look at the official Japanese name - Daioudou may be a combination of 大王 daiō (great king), 王道 ōdō (kingship), and 銅 dō (copper) or 黄銅 ōdō (brass). It doesn't mention Rajah in its official name and Great King is broad, since it was used in many countries in the past (Including England) to differ a King who has amazing stuff with other Kings (For example Alfred the Great).
for the copperajah theory, its similar to gumshoos' pokedex entry, where it was brought from another region to take care of the alolan raticate infestation. i was hoping to get gumshoos in swsh to have my theory be right, but i think theyll just do it for gen 9
Iirc, yungoose/gumshoo is based on the small Asian mongoose, which are native to India and eat snakes. I can totally see an India-based region using gumshoo, seviper, and zangoose variants.
I'm surprised that Hoops here didnt mention the hat hanging on the wall in the player's home in SwSh, which looks oddly similar to Lucas's hat in dppt, which could have been another potential hint towards BDSP, all the way when you first start your game.
While Regions based on India and Italy would be great, it still blows my mind that we haven't gotten a region based on an African Country or a South American country yet: There's just so much potential when it comes to new Pokemon in Regions like that.
2 months later and GF has revealed gen 9 to be in a Spanish based region, Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, which has a strong connection to Oranges and Grapes. there is a curtain in the Circhester hotel in SWSH with an Orange and Grapes pattern on it. So far that's all I got.
There's also a line of dialogue in USUM, I think by the Ultra Recon squad, which says something like "your pokemon are shining brilliantly". Only noticed it since I played it after BDSP came out. It seems awful early, but I could see TPC/GF/CI already knowing what the Sinnoh remake titles would be
Considering all the potential hints, Copperajah's home region, the painting, and Masuda saying Ciao, we could see a region based on a combo of Italy, India, and Rome all at once. Plus if Rome, which is in Italy, is included it could mean the pokemon equivalent of the leaning tower of Pisa and the Roman Colosseum which could bring a new colosseum game. Just saying Gen 8 was based on Scotland, Ireland, and Britain it's a possibility.
We're probably never getting another Orre title, sad as it may seem. Collo/XD served a very specific purpose (making Gen 2 species that were technically stuck in the GB/GBC era due to the lack of Gen 2>3 transferability available in Gen 3) that, between Dexit and GameFreak clearly being hesitant to break the transferability daisy chain ever again, will almost certainly never be needed again in the series. And since PoGo's adaptation of Shadow Pokémon failed to reintroduce XD001, there's a decent chance that there's a rights/licensing issue to contend with even if one were to be made for shiggles.
Minor correction here, but you should’ve said Scotland, Ireland, and *England* , or simply the UK. Britain is the island that Scotland, England and Wales are on
I feel like I'm the only one who noticed this, but Gen 6 didn't just hint about Gen 7, it even gave away the main mechanic of Gen 8. Gen 6 introduced Super Training, a method of EV training where you fight GIANT Pokemon balloons, in a SOCCER FIELD like stadium, while you yourself are small. Gen 6 also talked about the great war of the Kalos region, and we know that England and France have had their fair share of wars long ago. It's fair to say that Kalos and Galar have warred with each other, and Dynamaxing may have been the primary way they survived. Dynamaxing is then left referenced during the super training events, where you fight giant versions of Pokemon.
actually they didn't plan on going farther than Gen 1 until they saw how popular the games were which led them to gen 2 and so on. they never expected pokemon to be such a huge hit.
@GemsOfLilyheart-WSP, and the picture has a building reminiscent of the Sydney opera house. And I’ve seen others saying that the stars overhead look like the Southern Cross, and looking at a picture I’ve got to say I can see that as well. Honestly, ignore the building, the constellation alone should be enough. If he says ciao in the original games, and the only other “evidence” of Italy is the picture, G’day, mates!
You're video has inspired me to start over my Sword version gameplay again, this time I'm going to go through every detail hopefully finding any sort of clue of what's to come in the 9th region
I also found it really curious how Honey from Island of Armor, when you donate ~3m watts, just randomly says that she wanted to invite all champions to a battle on the island, but wasn't able to get them there due to this event not being eunogh of a reason to get them there. At first, I thought it hinted to some "PWT-like event happening at the end of the crown tundra DLC, but maybe it's a hint to gen 9 instead?
I wish they actually went through with it I would've loved fighting Cynthia/Steven/Red and all the others up to that point. I paid all the Watts she wanted and thought the ending of it was a bit disappointing.
it can also be black and white since that did have the PWT, also in addition to that, the bike lady in front of that same dojo can change your bike into "Glistening Black" and "Sparkiling White" Colors
The Pixie Plate was included in Sword and Shield because no other, non-plate type booster (in the vein of Charcoal or Silk Scarf) hold item yet exists for the Fairy Type. And before you ask "What about Steel?" the Metal Coat actually pulls double duty as both an evolution item and the Steel type booster, ever since Gen 4.
iirc there was a map in one of the recent games that looked like australia.also the italian one, wasnt it mentioned at some point that there was a mysterious region next to kalos? considering kalos is based on france it would make sense
One thing in Gen 1: After you exit the Rock Tunnel above Lavender Town, one NPC talks about wanting a pink and pudgy Pokemon with a floral pattern. Come Gen 5, we get Munna.
If you think a little deeper thats kinda sad. Pokémon has became so big that, even when working in one game/generation, the developers need to be working on the next one at the same time to don't delay the other parts of the company
In gen 8 there is an Npc you can battle that speaks Spanish and talks about her home region, being Paldea, and in the final hotel in the game you can see wallpaper depicting oranges and grapes the symbols of the schools in scarlet and violet
Both Italian and Indian pokemon regions sound great and although the last real world country/region I wanted didn't turned out as I wished those could do better.
The reason the Pixie Plate is the only Arceus Plate found within Sword and Shield is because it's the only item that boosts the power of Fairy-type moves. (Charcoal and Flame Plate, Soft Sand and Earth Plate, Twisted Spoon and Mind Plate, etc.) All the Plates' counterparts are available in Sword and Shield, but since there is no counterpart to Pixie Plate, it was left in so Fairy-types could have a boosting item.
Fantina speaks English in the Japanese versions of gen 4, possibly hinting that Gen 5 would take place in an English speaking region (New York). She speaks French in other versions, which was the region that appeared right after Unova. Although it could be coincidental, I believe that Fantina was hinting Kalos and Unova.
I'd also like to point out that there was a good bit of French things in Gen 5, especially the anime. Like in the Victini movies, the treats that make an appearance throughout the movies are macarons, which are actually a French treat. Heck, in the main anime, one of the characters, Burgundy, actually has some French words sprinkled into her dialogue, even Japanese.
Fun fact: in 2019. (Before isle of Amor and Crown Tundra) there are hints of a future dlc. The train tracks. I noticed these in 2019 on the map. And at one point tried to follow them. But got no where. In 2020 Isle of Amor and Crown Tundra those train Tracks are used as away to fly to the Isle of Amor and Crown Tundra.
A hint for Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl from Sword and Shield are the three dragons Dracovish, Duraludon, and Dragapult, that have the same types as Palkia, Dialga, and Giratina
The next region for gen 9 is based off of Spain. But the Italy and India possibilities could come later down the line like how an npc in either gen 1 or 2 made mention of Munna way before it was introduced to us in gen 5.
People don't seem to mention that Sword and Shield had a trainer that says they're from another region and speaks in Spanish. I mean... they can't be more obvious than that.
Several past games had different-language-speaking NPCs, including Black/White and X/Y. There's Spanish, as you said, and also German and Italian. I believe there was also French in Black/White, which then hinted at Kalos.
I moved to a different country a while back, and misplaced an old copy of my Pokémon moon. Just recently, I found it then went to see all my progress after 6-7 years. While in the game directors office, I didn’t notice the g-max toxicitry, but after talking to the guy in the light blue shirt on the far right, he also says “Ciao!” Followed by “I just finished an awesome song!” I don’t know if it was a reference or hint or what, but I thought it was pretty cool and noticed you didn’t mention it
I really like the Alolan music. I poured a lot of hours into that game mostly because it was my first Pokémon game completed, I live in the state, and because trading didn’t require subscriptions.
Copperajah comically could also support the hint at Italy being the next setting. Not only do you have the paintings and ciao, Italy was also famously invaded by elephants once...
Loved the video, another hint is that in the back of the usum box it says “let’s go” and then has the pikachu trailer from pikachu valley right next to it
Following Lockstin's theory about the mythicals, the interview where Masuda says redwood as a hint, and Copperajah's pokedex entry, I believe the next region will be based off of India.
The mysterious painting looks more like it resembles Australia to me. Zooming in what I see are whale tails coming out of a large harbor with a large lit city in the distance. This immediately makes me think Sidney and the waters where the opera house is located However my personal theory is the next region is gonna be India due to little hints I’ve been seeing. It also would be a great choice in historical context to tie it to Galar

@@GPrinceps Oddish tulip regional variant. They can make it Grass/Ice type, based on the original White Tulip. There is also the thing that the Dutch have made CD's, so you can even make the TM's/TR's/HM's have Dutch region origins. You can potentially even make more Flabebe colours based on the Tulip colors. Like, this is a thing. Tulip flowers come in a wide variety of colours, except pure blue (several tulips with "blue" in the name have a faint violet hue). So you can potentially switch out the Blue Flower Flabebe. While tulips can be bred to display a wide variety of colours, black tulips have historically been difficult to achieve. The Queen of the Night tulip is as close to black as a flower gets, though it is, in fact, a dark and glossy maroonish purple - nonetheless, an effect prized by the Dutch. Then there is also this: The first truly black tulip was bred in 1986 by a Dutch flower grower in Bovenkarspel, Netherlands. The specimen was created by cross-breeding two deep purple tulips, the Queen of the Night and Wienerwald tulips. So maybe to achieve the rare Black Flower Florges, you need to have 2 Purple Flower Floette's in your team. So you can have Regional Forms/Variants for Floette as well, which can only be obtained in this region.
In ORAS you can find Looker who has lost all of his memories. I think that that was a hint to what would have happened in Sun and Moon with him and Anabel
Watching this knowing that Gen 9 will be in Spain makes the hints you mentioned for Gen 9 a little... confusing... Ciao is especially confusing, considering....
i think gamefreak realized we were all thirsty for new gen hints so they gave us "hints" to an Italian region so we wouldn't notice the real hints until its released

How did you forget to mention the dude in black and white who used to be a former team rocket member who spoke about his region and how he talked with a french accent?

It makes a lot more sense that the hints would become more obvious in later games considering how much shorter the development times were getting. Earlier games had no items nor direct statements towards another region.
Finding a hint for Gen 10 in S&V gets me very excited, 'cause Gen 10 will probably be a huge deal as it will likely coincide with the 30th anniversary (from Japanese release date of RBY) of the series.

Well anime generally tends to move from one region to another quite smoothly, so such things happened often (Ho-oh, being at the very beginning of the anime is the only actual exception here).
I’d absolutely love a Italian region. The more of the world we see adapted to Pokémon the batter. And I think a Ravioli Pokémon or something would be hilarious.

I felt the mystery surrounding the figure as I already knew the 151 pkmn thanks to a game guide, and as the anime advanced in its plot and the golden bird was still not mentioned I knew at some point it was to be revealed as a new species and of course they would reveal not one but a whole bunch of new creatures. Then came 2 gen and it was beautiful to finally meet the legendary bird, I never felt like this again about a pkmn mystery.
I don't think that Corsola was a hint towards the next game. At that point there was the plan that the 2nd gen games were the last ones to be released. Only after Pokemon then became such a success throughout different parts of the world they decided to kept going. So it was less foreshadowing and more like, "Hey remember that Pokedex entry from the last game? Yeah, let's make a town based on that."

I'm actually a little thrown off after the Gen9 reveal now. I think Copperajah's dex entry is not just an empty phrase and India seems very plausible as a new region inspiration for a future gen; even though now we know that it's Gen10 at the earliest. But these hints towards Italy are what really confuses me. We now know that we'll be in Spain/Portugal, which are at least in South Europe, but certainly not Italy. And they wouldn't hint towards a game that comes out, at least, six years from now, would they? Although: If Copperajah's dex entry was a hint towards Gen10, they would've done that way in advance too. Sooo was all of that just a coincidence or what were these hints for...?
usually speculation videos are a lot more... strange, and get too into the details without much knowledge. the way you explain it is more interesting, and you lay out all the evidence before truly judging. Great video!!!
So for the amount of comments I've seen im surprised that no one references the scientists from devoncorp in emerald that states hes working on being able to explore Pokémon and people's dreams... a gen 5 reference all the way back in gen 3

At the end of the Isle of Armor storyline, Mustard tells the player: “Just so we're ready for when the time comes..." "Heh heh! Oh, don't worry! You'll find out what I'm talking about eventually!” I always figured this would relate to Crown Tundra, but Mustard doesn’t show up. Ruling out DLC3, I think Mustard and Honey might appear in Gen 9.

they could just make a new fairy boosting item, but they chose to make it an arceus plate even though arceus do not exist in sw/sh. definitely a hint bro
It doesn’t sound like you’ve played B2W2 recently, Colress’s comment sets up an in-game storyline which is resolved when the player beats him in the final battle, proving that the best way to bring out the power of your Pokémon is to create a strong bond with them
Nope, SWSH doesn't gave a Pokemon that hint at and Indian region. When do people start to realize Copperajah is just the localization name and not the official Japanese name Daioudou. Daioudou may be a combination of 大王 daiō (great king), 王道 ōdō (kingship), and 銅 dō (copper) or 黄銅 ōdō (brass). The official name has nothing to do with India whatsoever.
@@nickdentoom1173 Brass is extremely popular in India, in fact most metals are including Copper, so even its Japanese name points to India, as well as the Pokemon's appearance: a Painted elephant with short ears, just like an Asian Elephant, as well as its backstory, it says it came from another region, hmm lemme think..Galar is based off the UK and the UK colonised India and bought elephants to the UK.. so really it does point to India in ALL ways

If Game Freak is going to make a region based on Italy, maybe there's a hint in SW/SH: Zacian and Zamazenta are wolves and twin brothers... and in Roman mythology, Romulus and Remus are twin brothers that supposedly were fed by a she-wolf.
Zacian and zamazenta aren't twin brothers because the pokedex calls zacian zamazenta's older sister
But you might be right
@@Minish4rk360 well they could still be twin siblings (non identical twins can be different gender and unless theyre conjoined theres still a twin that comes out first, thats usually called the older)
That would be such a cool hint!
Also the Pokemon that are a group of little Roman soldiers!
well in Romulus and Remus doesn't Romulus murder Remus? So does that mean Zacian is going to murder Zamazenta?
Lol
Also, it has a little Bit of Black/White Kyruem's Battle Theme.
I saw the lord form as somehow a link to Calyrex and sovereign
i heard of that before and no matter how much i listen to the theme, i cant hear it out. imo its bs
Calyrex looks like a shmuck, so me and my Palkia would love to sort him out and throw him in a pc box
Well Calyrex has two new forms in Legends Arceus, which takes place in Hisui, which is the ancient name of Sinnoh.
Nice one, dude!
According to all the leaks we got till now, gen 9 will be either Italy or India , so maybe u r kinda correct. Also it's supposed to be announced on Pokemon day this year

The thing is tho that Copperrajah, rajah is the hindi word for king
@@nathangovender3386 Regional variant is likely
@@nathangovender3386 Is only its localization name, so Copperajah isn't relevant here.
@@nickdentoom1173 but its hindi, it comes from India and it means king
for the copperajah theory, its similar to gumshoos' pokedex entry, where it was brought from another region to take care of the alolan raticate infestation. i was hoping to get gumshoos in swsh to have my theory be right, but i think theyll just do it for gen 9
Iirc, yungoose/gumshoo is based on the small Asian mongoose, which are native to India and eat snakes. I can totally see an India-based region using gumshoo, seviper, and zangoose variants.
we still haven't seen Corphish's home region either lol
@@Ben-wu3or Oooh, I forgot about that. Good one!
100% agreed
Yes
Africa and Australia should be priorities for them to make 😮💨
Mew comes from South America or Guyana that should be a region Brazil has a huge Pokemon fan base
India is technically the most biodiverse country in the world, so it does have a lot of potential, Brazil would be a very fun choice too
2 months later and GF has revealed gen 9 to be in a Spanish based region, Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, which has a strong connection to Oranges and Grapes. there is a curtain in the Circhester hotel in SWSH with an Orange and Grapes pattern on it. So far that's all I got.
There's also a line of dialogue in USUM, I think by the Ultra Recon squad, which says something like "your pokemon are shining brilliantly". Only noticed it since I played it after BDSP came out. It seems awful early, but I could see TPC/GF/CI already knowing what the Sinnoh remake titles would be
Not really. That's reaching.
It’s odd that your called it brilliant diamond shinning pearl though and the ultra recon squad said that.
Just saying Gen 8 was based on Scotland, Ireland, and Britain it's a possibility.
just wanna say, masuda's equivilant said ciao in the original DPPT
Or maybe it's a Roman Empire region that includes north Africa where the regional variants of copperajah come frome
Only one starter Pokemon in the Roman empire.
Falinks.
That seems pretty farfetchd
Makes me wonder... Who would win, a dynamax or a mega?
I don’t know if anyone else has noticed this, but in gen 7 totem Pokémon being bigger stronger versions or regular Pokémon seems like a big hint.
To the current idea of legends is an improvement on totem totally agree
Yeah I guess but they're not nearly big enough to be a hint to dynamax
I think that corsola dex entry wasnot a hint to pacifilog because GS were the final games planned
Yeah, probably less of a hint and more of an 'oh, we can make this here'.

If they included that on top of the battle dojo... MWAH!
It could also refer to the Pokémon Masters EX App?
tbh, i think that was just for the Galarian Star Tournament.
10:15 fun fact: in Gen 5 there’s actually another hint for X/Y
If you go to the Pokéstar studio, there’s an NPC that makes a reference to Diantha
Gen 8 might of been hinting Legends Arceus Anicent Fossils, Gen 4, Possibly the WildAreas, and the Crown Tundra
Mr. Masuda has said "ciao" for the longest time IRL. I can't count that as a clue.
Fun fact: Ciao means both hello and good bye.
I think it's the globe in the Isle of armor dojo
That could be referencing galar
either Germany or Spain
Well It's kinga obvious there are some region next to Kalos, as it is not an island... but it can be not only Italian but also Spain or Germany based.
One hint from gen 7 to gen 8 is Magearna...it definitely feels out of place in Alola but feels right at home in Galar.
There was also Jasmine in Sunyshore that was a throwback to Johto and then a couple years later, HGSS were released.
There is that one globe inside the players house in SwSh that shows Australia's landmass which could yet still hont at an Australia based region.
15:53 this aged greatly
Most likely, because they thought gen 2 was going to be the end of the games, they based pacifidog town on corosola's dex entry
GameFreak really just said "Get Spain'd" with that whole Ciao thing
A hint for Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl from Sword and Shield are the three dragons Dracovish, Duraludon, and Dragapult, that have the same types as Palkia, Dialga, and Giratina
That's a very good hint
The next region for gen 9 is based off of Spain. But the Italy and India possibilities could come later down the line like how an npc in either gen 1 or 2 made mention of Munna way before it was introduced to us in gen 5.
People don't seem to mention that Sword and Shield had a trainer that says they're from another region and speaks in Spanish. I mean... they can't be more obvious than that.
Several past games had different-language-speaking NPCs, including Black/White and X/Y. There's Spanish, as you said, and also German and Italian. I believe there was also French in Black/White, which then hinted at Kalos.
I mean, that a character speaks a certain language doesn't mean much as a hint to a next game. Looker spoke German in the Alola games.
@@nickdentoom1173 it was more the fact that they specified the fact that they had travelled from another region.
I moved to a different country a while back, and misplaced an old copy of my Pokémon moon. Just recently, I found it then went to see all my progress after 6-7 years. While in the game directors office, I didn’t notice the g-max toxicitry, but after talking to the guy in the light blue shirt on the far right, he also says “Ciao!” Followed by “I just finished an awesome song!”

This immediately makes me think Sidney and the waters where the opera house is located
However my personal theory is the next region is gonna be India due to little hints I’ve been seeing. It also would be a great choice in historical context to tie it to Galar
I thought it looked pretty obviously like a Van Gogh Starry Night painting and was surprised he didn’t mention that aspect of it.
@@MerkhVision It did. Van Gogh is a Dutch Painter and Masuda has tweeted a picture with 2 Pikachu that obviously resembled the Netherlands (There was a Pikachu in Orange, the Dutch National Colors and a Pikachu wearing old Dutch attire, there is even merch for this one).

And some sort of windmill Pokemon? hehehe. My best friend is from the Netherlands and we both love Pokemon. Such a game region would be fantastic.

Finding a hint for Gen 10 in S&V gets me very excited, 'cause Gen 10 will probably be a huge deal as it will likely coincide with the 30th anniversary (from Japanese release date of RBY) of the series.

At the end of the Isle of Armor storyline, Mustard tells the player:

I always figured this would relate to Crown Tundra, but Mustard doesn’t show up. Ruling out DLC3, I think Mustard and Honey might appear in Gen 9.
They had actually just Built Pacifilog town after the Pokédex entry because Gen 2 was meant to be the end of the series which is why they let us go back to Kanto and face red
cynthia saying that her home is a secret is rly interesting now that we know about the ancient retreat in legends arceus, which was hidden/is a secret. it's a stretch but i like thinking about it lol

@@nickdentoom1173 Brass is extremely popular in India, in fact most metals are including Copper, so even its Japanese name points to India, as well as the Pokemon's appearance: a Painted elephant with short ears, just like an Asian Elephant, as well as its backstory, it says it came from another region, hmm lemme think..Galar is based off the UK and the UK colonised India and bought elephants to the UK.. so really it does point to India in ALL ways
there's also grimsley's quote from usum i believe? "you took a stab like some kind of prophet, right now your pokemon are shining brilliantly" or something along those lines, but with the direct brilliant/shining namedrop.
I think Colress bringing out the power of Pokémon also involves Z moves which is why he was in gen 7 too and not gen 6
This is really cool. Another thing, I don't remember if it was sun and moon or it was ultra sun and ultra moon, but a building inside one of those games had a map of the UK, which is what Galar is based on. I saw this in CandyEvie's video.
