Those Mitas tires look awesome on that bike. I have the Rottweiler intake and filter. I always looked at it and wondered why it couldn't just slide out without removing the tank. I don't have to think about that no more. I guess it's time to shake my penny bank.
This air kit is a game changer for sure. 50k miles in, I can assure you I'd have checked the air filter and cleaned / replaced it WAY More Often if I had this! "Sorry 1190... I Do love you :)"
I wonder how this would compare to the PowerCell pods and pre-filters in the snorkels that I run now? The pre-filters are super easy but I have yet to check the main… coming due for a valve check in a few thousand miles and will check it then. This is a super clean design by Rotty though. Any idea on pricing?
Pricing should be available in the next couple weeks. Just chatted wiht them today and it will be called SOLERA Quick Change Intake System. SOL meaning doable solo or alone and ERA as in new Era of possibilities. Pretty rad. It's coming soon!
Thas a great gear. I remember how to change or clean this filter is not fun. When I change for gs 1200, change the filter is very and other game , more easy.
My only concern is does it seal properly around the base in the long run and I don't like that it sucks hot air in. Great idea though. I have Powercell Pods with snorkel prefilters in mine.
It is accepting all of the cool air from the front of the bike (way more than stock) when moving so I don't see that as an issue. It seems to have a solid seal all the way around. It has been on the bike for a month now. I need to pull it out and look at the foam around the base. Are there any areas that look "less squished" than others. It feet good during the installation though. We shall see.
The product works great! The intake noise is really loud... that is for sure. When cruising it's not bad, but when you give it the beans, it ROARS! Louder than my Yoshimura pipe...
Is there any downward pressure pulling it down ? i can see it slots into a dowel at the end and the thumb screw end seams to just latch across ? surly the magnet cannot be that strong holding it down ? i dont understand how it wont just suck air in around the bottom when it sits on the base plate ?
There are ridges and the filter material is about 1/2 thick all around the base plate. The magnet is pretty strong... that locates it and then there is pressure that is needed to push down so the flipper latch at the end can engage. I'll pull it off so you can see the Indention in the foam / the amount of seal it has.
The velocity stacks are built into this unit. the baseplate bolts to the intake and the velocity stacks are built in to the air filter cage. Pretty neat set-up.
Just talked with them today! Check it out: ETA UPDATE! SOLERA Quick Change Kit @RottweilerPerformance KTM 1090 1190 1290 #youtubeshorts #adv th-cam.com/users/shortszKROKpJlLIQ?feature=share
Yeah, an upgrade on top of an upgrade does not make much sense ... unless you are looking to save time. At least an hour saved every time you want to check or change your air filter. Whew!!!
Yeah, it is a bit higher than I would have expected, BUT... the time and $$ it saves will quickly pay for the unit. Filter checks / cleanings are so easy! Being an 1190 guy since 2017 I think the $650 is worth every penny! 2 minute filter swap vs. a 2 hour filter swap. GOLD.
How I wish I had this a few years back.
I’m almost a pro now getting that tank off, this will definitely makes things much easier.
Way Way easier!

Great product 👌 can't wait for them to come out
Such a great design. Makes me wonder why the OEM's make it so difficult!
the difficult maintanance issues are the primary reason I did not get a 1290, makes me wish this came out earlier.
Yeah. I used to only check it when I do my oil changes. Now, I'll check and clean after every dirty ride!
As the guy with the map and or mostly solo I rarely ate dust but this with be added to my 8 year old 1190 lickety-split.
Ha! Ha! Yeah, I have eaten a far amount of your dust... Can't wait for our meet-up at the Buffalo Chip for some South Dakota Off Road Riding!

@@manybikes thanks for the tip!

Yeah, trade offs ;)

I'm looking into this as well but I'm very concerned about the noise of the new intake... Is it that much louder than stock?😮

@@manybikes thank you, I think I'll pass because of the noise... I've done twin air filter on the 690 and it was so loud my ears were pinging 🤣

@manybikes epically under hard throttle when it's breathing deep, I can't help but think it would suck dirt around the bottom..
Hopefully this will be compatible with the Rottweiler velocity stacks? (TVS80)

Thanks Kyle!
Yes Sir!
I'm not looking to this one because i have the old version 😂

Have mercy they want $650.00 USD for this!!??!! I was expecting more like $350.00 tops!
