This game is awesome.
Hear me out: When I bought my playstation 2, this was my first game.
I spent all day playing it after buying, but I didn't have a memory card back then.
I had to shut it down.
A couple days later, with my memory card ready, when I reached the same part where I was before a little surprise: I was like 20 min near the ending of the game.
I'll never forget this, this game is just THAT good.
We NEED an Onimusha 5 and 6 already! And a live action movie for good measure.

Onimusha 2 was better in EVERY aspect

i playing this on 2005 with my childhood friends ,acting sleep on the night and sneak to turn on the game just made me speechless watching how good this game graphics back in the day

Don’t know how this was in my recommendation on here but I’m all for it. Onimusha 3’s my favorite of the series. Really wished they would remaster this game. Absolutely loved this series.

All the sword fighting I did in these Onimusha games,prepared me later on for all the sword fighting I would later be doing in the Dark Souls games.
Things happen for a reason.I was prepared when I begin Dark souls,and Demon Souls.And also got good training , by Tenchu,as well.

He actually did, i was amaze as a kid to play a game that i loved with a french actor i already knew at the time
In Europe, the game was released with subtitles in 5 languages, but keeping the same dub.
As far as I know, Reno was also going to dub the parts where the character speaks in English ( the biggest part of the fame). He couldn't do it though, due to schedule problems.
If they remake this like RE2 I will fork out whatever they tell me to pay for the preorder

They sure do love repeating names a lot. I hear so many Samanosuke's and Heri's over and over again.
Onimusha 3 is the best because it has the best music, best controls and best gameplay and it beats oni 2 in every way and this game doesn't require to use the directional pads to move the character which is really annoying and btw my opinion and i don't care about people saying that oni 2 is "better" than oni 3
Onimusha 3 had the better Gameplay, I simply liked the whole alternative Story-Route thing in Onimusha 2 a lot better.
It looks so easy at times.

Hope there'll be an Onimusha 5 in the near future, with the lead protagonist being Samanosuke's (and maybe Ako's) child or maybe descendant (an Onimusha in the modern world)

Ranmaru the first boss seams to be a playable character tbh it's fun to play it normal with normal sword vs normal sword

Nioh doesn’t suck nor does sekiro both games are different and unique sekiro is more difficult out of the souls games while nioh has its own difficulty spike and it’s more related to onimusha than the souls games . Both games are good it depends who is playing it

I still dont know what happened to Ako in Dawn of dreams.
She stayed with Samanosuke, and he changed his name to Tenkai.. but when we meet him again in Dawn of dreams, Ako is not with him in the temple. Does someone know about this? Why is she gone?
Luna Silver Ako changed her name to Arin, just like Samanosuke did with Tenkai, so the girl that it's in the temple with the white robe is Ako. Both changed their names.
Arin is ako. At the end jubei says when they two are alone he calls her ako and she calls him samanosuke

yes. they featured his character model and a few lines of dialogue as a selling point. but it ended up as let down as the few lines he had were in french and quickly replaced by some generic english voice actor.

The true ending is that if you collect all hidden cloth for Ako, then she will become a real human girl in the end as you see and be Samanoske's BXXCH~ ;)

This is one of the first games on my PC back in 2007, but this game hard as hell. I can't beat it then, and i can't now. And they say that Devil May Cry is hard. Hell nah! Devil May Cry is a child's play compare to this game!

I played it using my ACME gamepad, and i could not beat it.
At first i was playing it on keyboard too, but i buyed myself a gamepad few years after that, and played it on gamepad, and even then i could not beat it. I even cheated, and even then i could not beat it, cause sometimes you just don't know where to go in that game and what to do, so i'm stuck almost at the end, on the level with that guard dog boss battle. But i didn't get to that boss, cause i stuck in the middle of that level.
Now i'm 24 years old, and i still can't beat it :D

I have never played any of the Onimusha original trilogy, so I have to ask....Does it control like the Resident Evil 1 Original or Remake?....Because if it plays like the remake I would say "PUT THIS IN MY FUCKING PS4 ALREADY CAPCOM!"...The reason why I say that because the remake gave me what I always wanted in the original....NO FUCKING TANK CONTROLS!

i really cant accept the fact that Tenkai and Samanosuke are the same person...wish they made Tenkai a new character instead of Samanosuke...and kept Samanosuke as youthful as he is in Oni 3 to DoD...i just hate when he became second to Soki...for me Samanosuke is still the most powerful Onimusha
I never really understand why he suddenly became old (and in the same time not because he still looks like he is in his fourties) while Hideyoshi looks always the same...
@@TheMetastasia well theres no complete explanation in the game but if you buy the two manga of DOD youll probably know what exactly happened after the events of Onimusha 3..those two manga revolves around Samanosuke and Ako’s journey after defeating Nobunaga... the two mangas were entitled “ ONIMUSHA TWILIGHT OF DESIRE & ONIMUSHA NIGHT OF GENESIS

Really? the first time I play it on easy I was get rekt so bad because weapon under level. The 2nd time I struggle a little bit because I try to master critical. The 3rd time I clear the game on devilish difficulty and get critical rank LOL.

This is probably the better ending for the series. Dawn of Dreams was... Too experimental. This was wild. Seeing Reno in this was completely out of sync but it worked.
Only downside was the kid. Annoyed the crap out of me when I played this when I was younger.

At first I didn't like it either, but I went and gave it a shot, I meant the new characters (I miss his old partner who died in a war) especially Roberto, he's cool and eventually Onimusha 4 grew on me. But today I wish they could make Onimusha 5 & 6 already! And a live action movie for good measure!!
