    Very nice demo and yes, the fingers of flame were awesome.
    I’m one of the flameworking glass instructors at the Workhouse Arts Center in Lorton, Va. I would add that if you’re condensing a failed bubble to try again; to go VERY SLOWLY starting at the outer end of the ball (furthest from hand). If you go too quickly the bubble will collapse on itself in uneven lines around its circumference and leave you with worse uneven walls to try to even out on the next blow. The key is condensing back SLOWLY.
    I love watching your videos for tips to pass on to my students as well. I also cite your channel as one of my Resource Channels for the students. (If you look me up, don’t judge by my very outdated website and TOTAL lack of social media presence. ) LOLOL

      Hi Linda! Thanks so much for your kind comment, it made my day. Yes, good point on how to properly condense a bubble back down. Glad that you're finding my videos helpful. I did find your site and I love those ornaments! Fused pieces are awesome as well. Hope you have a great night! All the best! Sim

    Awesome video and dad joke lol. Here is one for you if you haven't heard it. How do you make a tissue dance? You put a little boogie in it. HAHHAHA My 7yr old son came home from school and told me that. I said where did you learn that? He said his teacher.

      @FusingShop I'd like to get pretty much what you have there a bubble with a small hole Air flow, and it should have a shoulder from the bowl to the stem just as you have it in the video. And the stem itself should be about 10 in. Pretty much exactly what you have in the video if you can price me on that

    How do you get glass to not shatter or crack when heating?

    • @FusingShop
      @FusingShop  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi! Heat the glass slowly in a more propane rich flame until it starts to get some heat into it. The dramatic temperature shifts is what makes the glass crack. Also any twists, bends, or distortions can be stress points in the glass and cause cracking or shattering. Hope this helps! Sim

    I love glass, there's too much plastic and even toxic wood products in the world today. Seems glass tends to be less toxic, and it's so pretty. For decor, for dinnerware eyc

    I honestly don't understand why you keep on representing yourself as a 'glass blower', or a 'lampworker'. This isn't glassblowing, as we have discussed before - and you're not using 104 glass to make beads, so not a lampworker either
    You're a torchworker, and a pretty good one judging by this vid - so why not represent as a torchworker? This is NOT a glassblowing technique, it's a good demo on how to blow out boro tubing, on a torch. There are no puntys, pipes, glory holes or furnaces in your vid.Just because you heat and blow a bubble doesn't make that 'glassblowing'!
    Go check out someone like Bill Gudenrath - he's a glassblower. Or check out some of the other Corning Museum vids for actual glassblowing techniques.
    Anyway, unsubscribing. As good as your torch work techniques are, your whole title/presentation just sets my teeth on edge.
    I wish you all the best, but hope you understand that you''re not only being disrespectful to several different schools of glass working, which all have thier own unique techniques and skillsets, which take time and dedication to master - you're also underestimating your own skill as a torchworker.

      Hi Eric! Thanks for your comment on this video. It's funny that you're asking about the hoody because my kids were just asking me yesterday if I planned on getting Fusing Shop merch made. So the story behind the hoody is my wife got it made for me as a birthday present last year. I'm going to reach out to some vendors to get pricing and I'll for sure let you know. Sending good thoughts and prayers to you from Central NJ. All the best! Sim
