Exploring The Blue City With My Favourite Lens… Chefchaouen, Morocco

  • I spent two days photographing the wonderful 'Blue City' of Chefchaouen in northern Morocco. In my street photography style I attempt to capture and convey the beauty of this place while trying to avoid cliche shots, or repeating the same idea over and over again (a person walking down a blue alley!).
    Sit back and enjoy this calming POV street photography video.

    In the first few seconds, there was a scene of an open front door and a curtain used instead. I remember this method when I was a child, it provides privacy and allows air to flow in the house (you'll need a window or a door open at the other side).. What a lovely memory you just triggered 🙂 Stray cat feel so safe & relaxed, treating the city as one home.

      Thanks so much, Ronaldo! Like so many other beautiful locations it can be pretty overwhelming on first arrival not knowing where to go or what to capture, but taking it slow and with a bit of patience the overwhelm dissipates a bit and it’s easier to focus on making nice shots :). I hope you get to visit some day, it’s truly beautiful!

      Oh boy yeah that would have been hottt. It’s great being from England but I love travel - especially Asia. I spent many years travelling and living abroad in my 20s and I’d love to do that again but need a steady income… maybe, just maybe if the ol’ TH-cam takes off one day… 😅

  • @macjim
    @macjim ปีที่แล้ว +1

    While the locals seem to take tourists in their stride, it’s early days for them.
    They will, like many other tourist hotspots, get to the point where they will tire of the visitors just like many of the locals of Venice.
    Even places like Mousehole, Cornwall and Luss, Scotland have had enough of the tourists too due to the loss of privacy, because these places have become overwhelmed by the influx of people.
    Yes, it’s a beautiful town… one that has only come to my notice this year due to a few TH-camrs highlighting the place.
    Enjoy it while you can as it will become another Venice where it will be so busy with people, it’ll be uncomfortable to be there.

    • @timjamiesonphotos
      @timjamiesonphotos  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Not sure about that mate, like so many places in the world their economy relies on tourism, just like Cornwall, Scotland etc etc. Chefchaouen has been a tourist hotspot for tens of years. And TH-camrs have been making videos about it since the start of TH-cam, it’s not a secret spot 😅. Have you been? What I heard multiple times after speaking to locals there, is especially after covid they need all the tourists they can get 👍🏻
