I'm honestly a little disappointed that Cal Kestis' lightsaber wasn't even mentioned here, the modular design is really cool and gives him unprecedented versatility
Cal Kestis’ lightsaber from Fallen Order and Jedi Survivor. In game it can be customized to all kinds of looks sure, however there is a canonical look for it. I think the canon Cal lightsaber would be a combination of his two master’s lightsabers with the crossguard vents on the Jaro Tapal half of the saber. The way Cal can use his saber is the most versatile I’ve ever seen in star wars. He can use it with one blade like Anikan and Obi-Wan, he can use two blades like Ahsoka and Ventress, he can use a saberstaff like Maul and Savage, or he can even use a crossguard like Kylo Ren. Hell he can even use a gun with it like how Kanan fought the Grand Inquisitor using Ezra’s first saber.
There is no single canonical look for Cal's saber, it's an intentionally modular design; it shows off both his skill as an engineer and his adaptability as a lightsaber combatant
@@pokeyscorpion8224 I was going of the idea where in Fallen Order if you don’t edit the lightsaber at all then it will end up as half Jaro Tapal and half Cere Junda. Also in all the trailers and stuff Cal always has the Jaro Tapal lightsaber so that might be the most canon lightsaber Cal has.
@@damianwolfe613 The player customization obviously isn't canon, but his lightsaber is still modular regardless and thus has no single canon appearance
@@pokeyscorpion8224 Fair enough. But we can still agree that Cal probably has the most versatile lightsaber ever with the Single Blade, Two Sabers, Crossguard, and Saber Staff modes right?
Ezra’s old lightsaber was ingenious in my opinion. It likely would’ve been frowned upon by the masters, but I’m sure a few of the other Jedi would’ve been intrigued by its usage as a short and long range tool.
It could also be carried around much more openly, as its design was much closer to a blaster than a Lightsaber. Granted once he got some notoriety with the empire that benefit was pointless, but he could literally have his lightsaber on his waist, out in the open, and your average stormtrooper or even inquisitor wouldn't even realize its a lightsaber. It was much better for use as a lightsaber in a time of Jedi oppression because of this.
From the perspective of the old Jedi order, it would still be a useful design. One of the big issues with a lightsaber is that the only option is to either kill or permanently maim your opponent unless they surrender. _Lightsabers dont have a stun setting._ A stun blaster would be so useful for the day to day field work of a Jedi..., and it's merciful. As well as being able to stun fleeing suspects during an investigation. Pragmatic Jedi should have carried a stun blaster in their off hand. And another advantage, stun bolts can't be reflected back by another lightsaber wielder.
When Kanan used it against the grand inquistor, it gave him an edge the GI was not expecting. I recall the GI almost welcomed kanan running at him with a lightsabre, but then had to quickly go defensively when blaster shots started coming his way. Kanan swapping between the two modes seemed enough to keep the GI off balance
Hearing about Kylo Ren’s cross guard lightsaber made me remember just how I wished the Knights of Ren were actually meaningful villians. They were such a cool concept.
Still hoping one day some writer can redeem the Knights of Ren by writing a great novel about them to expand on the lore outside of the Sequels. Same with Rey.
I love that every aspect of Sidious wielding a lightsaber is a diss at the Jedi, right down to the design of the hilt. It really just puts into perspective of what he was trying to achieve: beat them, yes, off them yes. But more than that, humiliate them, disgrace them, destroy their illusion of superiority by not just using their methods of fighting to combat them, but rubbing it subtly in their faces that he is on par with their levels of skill, and he wants them to realize that such an enormous threat was right in front of them the entire time.
Now that you mention cross guard sabers I’m actually shocked we never got one in the Acolyte. I feel like in the high republic cross guards were a lot more common from all the comics, books and Jedi survivor. Although I am glad we got a lightsaber whip on screen finally so maybe season 2 could show us some dope cross guards especially with all the knights of ren and Kylo music being used in season 1.

Surprised that Ventress’ sabers weren’t included but still shown. A curved double bladed lightsaber that could separate into two standard curved sabers is really unique
Yea, but them being locked together for a saber-staff is one of the most unrealistic and foolish weapon designs in Star Wars. This is an exceptionally useful and effective mechanic for straight-handle weapons, but for curved handles, absolutely not. Might be the single most anti-effective weapon design in Star Wars' entire history. And I say "anti" effective rather than "in" effective because, not only would it not give any benefit, it would actively hinder the user to an extreme. I've thought about this before, as a 1st degree black belt in HaiDong Gumbo (Korean Swordart) and 3rd in TaeKwon Do, ever since I first saw it. Even considering the Force, the design is so awful and physically detrimental to the wielder, no Force ability is going to even that out, let alone make it into an advantage. B But again, the IDEA is great. It just has to be with non-curved hilts. My Grandmaster has two Ninjitsu Battleswords (which have a blade and hilt exactly like a katana, but with no curve to the blade. Single edge, very shap, with an extremely firm tang, and the traditional cord-wrapped hilts), that are identical twins and are designed to be able to quickly twist and snap their hilts together, creating a dual-blade/ staff. The hilts are both somewhat long, about a hand-and-a-half each, which I prefer, and when attached, they create a pretty long middle grip to allow for a lot of hand and form adjustments and leverages, as well as opening up more Bo Staff based techniques. Also, they can lock together two different ways: with the blades facing opposite directions, which is the usual choice, or with both facing same direction, which is more niche use. He's allowed me to train with it and borrow it since I was a teenage girl, and besides the WuShu Spear/ Bo Staff, it's definitely the weapon I'm most talented with. I can spin it just like a staff, as fast and flexibibly as a baton twirler, around my back, over head, thrown in air and caught, etc. I LOVE it. Wish I could get one for myself, but they're custum built by Mushashi family and over $12,000 each. It's fun to disconnect them amidst combat or forms, as well, and return to dual wielding. So this is one topic I really know a lot about. Ventriss' hilts are unrealistic even for fantasy to be attached like that. Still cool to look at, though! :)
@@JadusMoltriel I think the team on the show thought it was dumb too as her sabers only connect once in the Clone Wars movie. Though would it be as bad as the intentionally bad Inquisitor sabers?

Ezra's first lightsaber is one of my favourite. It's one of the most unique designs in all of Star Wars. I also like Cal Kestis's lightsaber. It's sleek and has a much longer handle than most other lightsabers which is great because having a longer handle gives more control and I feel like most lightsabers have barely enough space for 2 hands
Tbf it was originally designed to have a longer handle in order to fit a bigger species (his master which was a Lasat). In the end it turned out perfect to modulate and match Cal's different stances
I think it's also worth mentioning that while it's just a customization option, Cal Kestis has the option to make his saber out of beskar steel in jedi survivor, which seems like the best material to make one from. Anakin definitely needed one of these... the amount of times his saber got destroyed...
Out of these 10 unique lightsaber hilts, the Darksaber is definitely my favorite. However, I'm disappointed that Cal Kestis' second lightsaber wasn't included on this list because the modifications made to this lightsaber allow Cal to utilize 4 different lightsaber variants.
One of my favorite lightsabers has to be Cal Kestis’s second lightsaber. Built from his master’s, it could be used as a single blade, staff, as two sabers, and even as a two-handed zweihander. Also of note is it also behaves as a dual phase depending on the configuration used
On screen or not, Darth Bane "gifted"(by his instructor on Korriban - in legends is added after his instructor killed his master, the first owner of this hooked lighsaber) curved or hooked hilt lightsaber is not less amazing that the one of Lord Tyrannus or Count Dooku, probably is still more significative as it occurred around 1k years before Dooku being born. Nor trashing at all Dooku's "curved" lightsaber, quite the opposite, it served him (and his form II - with some nuances integrated from other forms, like soresu form III, which is a bit ironic as it was the main form used by Kenobi who always was a toy in the hands of the Count) and his fighting style pretty darn well.
This is my first time seeing Stellan Gios's lightsaber and that thing is absolutely beautiful. Like the perfect marrying of Lord of the Rings with Star Wars. Shot up my rankings to one of my favorite saber designs ever.
In my school vr game Goalius, Behemoth blade is considered a lightsaber, and its 1 of the most interesting lightsabers by far (the hilt when close looks interesting with a arrow head tip when close but when activated the energy of it covers the whole weapon which doesn't hurt the user but it does act as a security system to protect against thief's)
I know it's a game but I feel like cal kestis' saber should be mentioned because in Jedi fallen order he had a splitsaber and jedi survivor. He had the splitsaber, the long sword, the saber and gun combo and the double-sided saber
Missed opportunity to add Cal's lightsaber. It's extremely modular design that allows it to easily and smoothly transition into a completely different type of saber is so badass and unique.

The Dark Saber blade had mass to give it an advantage in heavier strikes, & blade clashes. It also had an almost magnetic force that attracted other lightsaber blades, so a nonsense force user could block better.
I really like the crossguard design, and Stellan's is perfect for the design the only thing I don't like is that the folding guard covers the point of the mini blades, but I suppose it's excusable for how awesome it still is.
I mentioned that Samuel .l Jacksons lightsaber was purple to my mom (who has delt with my addiction since age 7) and she said it would make sense when purple is a mix between blue and red making his character make even more sense when you learn he is one of the closest jedi to the dark side
It's always important to note that Count Dooku's lightsaber is specifically modeled after filipino style sword/knife hilts. The prop maker was filipino.
In Call Of Duty Modern Warfare III there was a Gundam collaboration and one of the executions obviously involves a lightsaber and at times Ezra's lightsaber hilt will appear when the execution is performed

windu's purple lightsaber represents his balance between the dark and light side
I mentioned that Samuel .l Jacksons lightsaber was purple to my mom (who has delt with my addiction since age 7) and she said it would make sense when purple is a mix between blue and red making his character make even more sense when you learn he is one of the closest jedi to the dark side
Wasn't Gios' crossguard featured in Jedi Survivor?
It's always important to note that Count Dooku's lightsaber is specifically modeled after filipino style sword/knife hilts. The prop maker was filipino.
therapist: "realistic ezra bridger isnt real, he cant hurt you"

In Call Of Duty Modern Warfare III there was a Gundam collaboration and one of the executions obviously involves a lightsaber and at times Ezra's lightsaber hilt will appear when the execution is performed
this channel is such a W
thank god they make star wars game without lightsabers. its not like they are like 30% of the franchise
awesome job about The Most UNIQUE Lightsaber Hilts Explained! from Top 10
7:23 you forgot about Sabine wren lol, nice vid btw
I was surprised the strangers lightsaber wasn't in this because it had the ability to detach the smaller blade at the end!
guy in the back at 8:42 be like: WEEEEEE IM A HELICOPTER :DDDDDD
Great video and information, please make a second video. 😁
Can you try to make a video about all the clone trooper armor parts and the things that can be put on the helmet? Please
The jedi seeing sidious' lightsaber:
Aw phrik
Tenel Ka Djo. You should do more legends content mate. Darth Talon's saber using Vong organic stuff should've been in here.
Was it darth krayt or bane who had a longer hilt and blade making it a true zweihander because the wielder was above average height and physically stronger as others?
That Rancor hilt is awesome. I'm surprised Revan didn't take a fang or a claw from the Krayt Dragon he killed in legends to use for his hilt.
If i remember right, Sabine also wielded the Darksaber in Rebels
she definitely had it and trained with it, but did she wield it in combat? I can't remember, the others all definitely used it in combat with an enemy
@@mattyt1961Yes, sabine did use it in combat a few times. Particularly in the first few episodes of season 4
@@MrPotatoPig yes, maybe that is because she only wielded it for a short time that redfive didn't mention her. Also, she is the only one, that we know, to have gifted it, instead of losing a fight. And, if i remember right, she found it while she was possessed at Dathomir, or i might be confusing two different things
@@mattyt1961 Sabine dueled Gar Saxon when she had returned to her family's home to try to convince her mother to have Clan Wren join the Rebellion. Sabine of course won the duel; however, she did not kill Gar Saxon, Sabine's mother did.
(edit add:) Sabine also wielded the Dark Saber during the operations to free her father from Imperial imprisonment.
@@nagnacamo25 Ezra actually found it, sort of, when Darth Maul brought him to Dathomir and pointed out the saber to Ezra. The Dark Saber did end up in Sabine's possession just after the events of she and Kanan being possessed by Night Witches.
11:35 much more of my type it has a blaster which could stung which in return means much more easier hits if possible and it’s still a light saber at the same time if I wasn’t Star Wars, I wouldn’t care about the standards if it means survival more easier I would do whatever the hell I want of course, a light saber gun better for my own fighting style if not that then may be a double sided light saber another one which I may use but only with a lightshield then I will only use a double sided light saber
General Greivous: which of these lightsaber are your Windue
Windue: the one that said "Bad Motherfucker"
The cool thing about Ezra's saber that I don't see highlighted is the resemblance it has to real life Sabre handguards.
The part two should include exar kun
1:46 Mace Windu: The First Black Jedi Master in the Franchise
With a Lightsaber Made of Grape Drink!
What about lord corvax’s light saber from Vader immortal
Love mace windows lightsaber
Palpatine had great taste in lightsabers
dooku and ventress has the best hilt
Oppo Rancisis' hilt is one of my favorite.
Palpatine, fam, first of all ain't no one looking at yo hilt when fighting, secondly, you never pull those babies out so no one even gets the chance to check those hilts out
Wow I’m not a starwars fan at all but just randomly searched “unique lightsabers” because I knew one character had a curved one and this video was just posted today lmao
More to add to my collection.....
Will you make, in the future, a video about the cruiser used by the rebellion and the separatist?
Id have to say my favorite lightsabers would be cal kestis's and Ezra bridger's first lightsaber.
I Love Asoka Tano’s double lightsaber (unmentioned) and Ezra’s Blaster/saber combination. I also thought Dooku’s arced saber hilt was very elegant.
13:01 - Where is this photage from, please? I don't recognize it
I have a really beautiful lightsaber hilt idea a marbled white hilt that’s based off a Roman/Greek pillar with a teal blade, coming out one side and a purple out the other as for the video my favorite has to be the rancor tooth teal bladed one
Darth vader using only one stance of his possible two is all of us in jedi survivor
Dark Saber is my favourite 😍
I would come up w my own unique designs. My idea is a 'spiked' mace. The spikes about 4" to 6" long. Some sort of beam multiplicator in the head. The weight would of course b alot less than a regular mace,so could b swung faster. Possibly surprising a first time opponent.
