I am using a WD black USB external storage and it’s only PS4 games that are getting downloaded to the external storage and it is not letting me change the default installation location for PS5 games to the external storage. Do I need a different hard drive for that?
Yeah me too and also if i move ps5 games to the extended storage i cant play them like that i have to copy them back onto the ps5 storage.

That because you can only install ps4 games by default to external since you can play them from external but you can only copy ps5 games to external since you can't play them from external

@@armytroopplug3892lmfao the entire marketing of these consoles is that they have SSDs instead of hard drives. You NEED a solid state drive, not a hard drive, to play next gen ps5 games. Hard drives are simply too slow and too old to keep up with the games we have today.

Your extended storage must be formatted just know when you format all data on the extended will be erased and you will have to re-download back on to it.

you cant run a single ps5 game on external storage, those are the two questions he answered. you have to move them to the internal storage before you can play. If you want extra storage and the ability to play the game you have to install more INTERNAL storage

I'll take that back you can transfer it but you can't play it you will have to copy in back on to the Console in order to play it.

that external can only store ps5 games, so you won't be able to play mw3 or spiderman 2 off it
