i absolutely love that Ford blue paint…even more so at around twenty years old when it starts to fade and take on that ‘patina’ the weathered look…it takes years to get that and you can’t get it from out of a tin …but everything still running strong…and that idle…with that diesel smell…. beautiful
Great video 👍 The Super Q cab still looks great today like it did all those years ago. Grew up driving Ford's and luckily we have 3 at home. Great memories.
Cracking video - love the interaction with the owners and farmers there! I’ve got to say there’s just something about those 7810s which makes them such an appealing tractor. I do prefer the other 7810s to the blue ones mind!
Some nice looking gear there👍. Funny when you were talking about originality, I've still the original tape deck in my girl and yes i still end up with a pencil/pen in the cab to wind the tape back on! 😩😂
Another tractor I had a lot to do with was a 1973 ford 7000 it was sold to the main farm on the estate where my parents had a small holding in 1982 the farmers son my friend turned it over it was classed has not worth repairing because the cab was bent so he purchased it back and we fitted a Duncan q cab and because it had done over 10000 hours fitted a new early 7610 complete early engine which where available at very competitive prices being a non dual power it was lovely to drive you could go up and down the box like a car we once dynoed the tractor and it had 108 hip on the dyno the only trouble we had with it was pto clutch has it had 6 plate pto hub but once we fitted 7610 pto 8 plate hub with stronger piston it was ok I have never driven such a powerful tractor for its size and weight and when he changed it for 8210 4wd later he allways regretted it I think it was exported to Ireland I often wonder does it still exist tragically my friend was killed in 1990 hence my tractor career coming to a end but watching your videos has really sparked and interest in me again
Not sure if it was the camera angle but looked like first tractor worked soil better than the second... looked like both were pulling same plow? Or difference in soil type? Not sure, just found it curious!
A great video, your channel is very underated ,iam surprised you dont have more subscibers , your videos are very interesting and deserve way more views, your channel is one of the best on you tube, keep up the great videos kurt. CHEERS FROM DAVID FROM AUSTRALIA.
Thank you David, that’s very kind but I’m not one for big Sub numbers and wanting to be adored. I say it as I see it and my followers and viewers seem to be of the ‘higher’ end of the spectrum, those who understand all kinds of engineering and mechanical systems and I’m very proud of that. I’m not one to try and pander to the seat warmers and knob jockeys. If you like it, great. If you don’t, F*ck Off. Thanks again and glad you’re here.
Love the vids was watching your tyre video and they are really interesting. I was wondering if you could do a video with one of the tyre companies on how to work out what pressures to put into your tyres cause it’s all very well saying put 8psi in the front if there a load of two tonnes on each tyre but I don’t have any large weighing scales to work out how much weight is on the tyre. I have tried to use the mitchlin tyre pressure Calculator but it so complex trying to get the weight of each axle what machine length of machine balance weight on front how far the weight is forward it just does not work. Thanks
My father had a contracting business here in TASMANIA (AUS). with a Ford 8401 which was a 2wd dual range 109hp tractor. That managed to get to 26000 hrs before it got a pin hole in no 5 cly wall.(when the dealer mechanic seen the bores he couldn't believe the hrs it had done😂 . Then the dealer contacted Ford & they wanted to purchase the motor & put it on display)I think what helped, is it was like a taxi! the motor rarely had a chance to stay cold, it was used all year round doing ground prep, sowing, mow, rake & bale! We would sit the motor at 1800 revs. We also had MF 4840 903 265hp with 17000 hrs last I new.
interesting i have driven 8245, county 1006, Roadless fordson(no pas!) , 7810,7610, 7000with manual dual power, Supermajor Newpower( at 12) NH 8670 and just got another Supermajor NP (french ed) interesting. I was pretty much brought up in "brewers" Wilton wilts!
I just had to Google the Ford tractor plant in basildon. For some reason I thought it closed down and was long gone moving production to some Foriegn land, but according to the info I found it was bought by Fiat. I also didn't know that it is the only tractor plant in the UK. They made some fine handsome beasts Ford did. Saw a lot of them as a kid in the 70s.
Which engine are you referring to ? Pure 'coolant' such as JD Coolgard are just premixed but at a higher strength but not 'pure'. Pure unmixed antifreeze actually loses some of its anti-cavitation, cooling and coolant lubrication/flow properties. I do however use a de-ionised >50% mix 👍
Always mixed with some corrosion protection i suppose alot must have ran them on water way back didnt help stop them going pourous, engines i am talking about would be teh one in 7810- and the first of the TW 15's and an old 7700, bullet proof if looked after
We must have been very unlucky then. Our 7810 series 2, let the water and oil mix, just like the 7610. I felt the 7810 was not as lively as the 7610 but maybe just my warped mind
Nicely done that, got a tear in my eye when I saw the 7810. Some lovely machinery there.

That Canadian built 946 is a real machine

Nice to see the county’s ploughing awesome tractors in there day
Brilliant to see them working wish l had of gone. Thanks for showing this vid 👍
Great video 👍 The Super Q cab still looks great today like it did all those years ago. Grew up driving Ford's and luckily we have 3 at home. Great memories.
Hello guys. Love to hear ya lads, ya know ya stuff. Looked a cracking day. Love the banter. Thanks for showing.
Fun day, thank you for sharing it with us. I'm a Ford guy in the US.
FORD IS GOLD 💪👌👍 SIMPLY THE BEST 💪👌❤️
Great video Kurt, still good to see the Fords!!
Fantastic video lads. Takes me back to 1993 when I started contracting when I had the pleasure of driving a 7610 2wd many happy hours
That 7810 brought back some memories, this is the tractor generation i did time on albeit i was using a 7610.
7610&7810 just love them and 7840 all class love old school ford blue power all the way 👌👌👌👌
Cracking video - love the interaction with the owners and farmers there! I’ve got to say there’s just something about those 7810s which makes them such an appealing tractor. I do prefer the other 7810s to the blue ones mind!
I wish that they would do things like that over here. Love the FORDS . Long time no see Kurt
Great video Kurt, keep up the good work.
Great questions on turbocharged 4 vs 6 cylinder, great stories👍maybe show how operate Ford gearboxes like Rubik cube👍
Some nice looking gear there👍. Funny when you were talking about originality, I've still the original tape deck in my girl and yes i still end up with a pencil/pen in the cab to wind the tape back on! 😩😂
again a great film 👍

Glad you enjoy them Paul 👍
I really love my little series 1 7610 just a shame its not as fast or comfortable as my fastrac
Is there a video anywhere that explains the ford, new holland fiat and case merge, love the videos
That's basically how it went. We will do a video on the CNH story later
Great video, love the Fords,
The 946 was owned by 2 brothers from Bedford had it since new then sold to Sharmans then sold to a dealer in Yorkshire then sold to the current owner
Farming Photography that’s the one Dave.
Good video & good tractors
The 7810 is a tractor for smal and big work on the farm is the modern version of 6600 super six
You cant beat a series 11 ford love them grew up driving them.
Very awsome vid my friend and to see George is quite nice!! They need more Red tho! ;-)
Not sure if it was the camera angle but looked like first tractor worked soil better than the second... looked like both were pulling same plow? Or difference in soil type? Not sure, just found it curious!
Different ploughs and different mouldboards so will look different.
Great video...

How long have you had this.? Make something up.!
About the tw25
Ford the tractors legend very very good Ford
I went over to a farm and they had a 946, he also had one of the largest collections of muir hills there is

Coolant mix also made a big difference. A stronger mix helped prevent cavitation and corrosion.
Charity tractor pulling event across in shropshire on the 22nd & 23rd of this month you'd be interested in podge.

I'm incredibly envious of you 😀
Enjoyed the video!
Versatile that is the very real tractor
Great video amd channel. Do you have much experience on SAME tractors from the 70s and 80s such as the lepoard 90 or tiger 105?
Only driven a Leopard 90 now and then so not much but they are great tractors.
@@LordMuck yes i have a tiger six 105 myself good machines. Great vids

CNH is still going but there are other tractor plants in the UK, JCB being one of them.
@@LordMuck yes, forgot about them, and isn't there a Volvo plant near Royston, (I think that's what it was), that was a crap report I just read then 😊
No it's their main UK distribution centre.
Hi Kurt sound video, people seem to rave on about 7810 as you mentioned I would prefer 7910 series 11 any day
Run the engine on pure coolant it never goes pourous and change piston heads for 7610 piston heads with bevel head then bolt on turbo
Which engine are you referring to ?
Pure 'coolant' such as JD Coolgard are just premixed but at a higher strength but not 'pure'.
Pure unmixed antifreeze actually loses some of its anti-cavitation, cooling and coolant lubrication/flow properties.

Yes they reckon if Ford had insisted on 50/50 it would have saved no end of blocks.
So real work horses Kurt, I'm referring to the tractors of course. 🤣
Need a 8830 Powershift!!
Nothing runs like a dear with a ford up it`s rear
Very very nice
My grandad has a 6610
LORDY MUCK Only you would go to a FORD outing wearing a JCB jacket.....
Have a 7610 with a loader myself
Ey in my home county, sadly couldn’t make it here tho
Ford walking tall with 10 bottom plows I Learn how to drive on the 5000 Ford
Nothing wrong with Suffolk you cheeky so and so.
Another question are there any actual Versatile tractors in the UK?
Well I know of at least one older and smaller Versatile in Bedfordshire.
@@LordMuck 7:00 what is its horsepower??
325 hp
We must have been very unlucky then. Our 7810 series 2, let the water and oil mix, just like the 7610. I felt the 7810 was not as lively as the 7610 but maybe just my warped mind
78's did suffer but nowhere near as much as everything else Ford built.
I'd agree about the 76...
What s squit mean, Lord muck.?
It basically means banter and nonsense, just fun.
Nice, need more green¡
Not likely to happen at a Ford working day...
Lord Muck how about a mean green day then.
I think it would be s great event.
Need to speak to Tunmore and Co
Steigers were sold in ford livery.
I was there
Me j look for the bidirectional of versatile in ford color blue white a very good engine pouwerstar
Lmao, ya get worse Podge. Brilliant.
It’s weird watch your vids and recognising people
