Marie-Elisabeth Hecker is simply astonishing, and I recall this particular work performed in concert by the late Jacqueline du Pre - golly, all those years ago - and when I was young !!! I had almost forgotten how beautiful this consert is, thanks for reminding me! And Marie-Elisabeth Heckers playing is exquisite, there is almost a touch of Jaqueline du Pré over it. Foregive me for saying so! This playing stands for itself, without comparison. This uptaking from 2009 can easily be heard also 2024!
@@staffanolofsson8201 das finde ich nicht. Der Klang von Jaqueline 's Cello kommt wunderbar heraus bei den alten Aufnahmen. Besonders beim Elgar Konzert mit Barbirolli. Für mich gibt es nichts schöneres.

A part of the difference to Jaqueline du Pré is that nowadays uptakings are so much better. I am grateful for this uptaking with so much better sound.
