Recently snapped the little plug that the BRA attachment goes to that’s connected to the intake manifold. I knew there would be some small clips that I didn’t see. Wanted to make sure I didn’t break anything else. Video helped me. Thanks my man!
The most detail video of removing the stock manifold. I was to clean the intake value carbon builds and stuck in removing the manifold. Thank you so much
Adam, thanks for the how to video on how to pull the RS intake. I'm installing a Radium Engineering baffle plate to match my Radium catch can. You made it simple. I had it off in less than 30 minutes. I had a slight issue at 2:45 with connectors on each side. I was under the impression they needed to be disconnected. I tried for 10 minutes and after scraping my knuckles I gave up. Come to find out they didn't need to be disconnected. Wish you would have said they do not need to be disconnected. It's all good. Thanks again. I'll be in the UK in June. Maybe I'll bump in to you.
Great video Adam. As you know I had mine fitted last year but I never used the spacer. What’s the benefit of the spacer if you don’t use aftermarket boost gauge? When I had mine fitted I could not get hold of the oil breather. I have one now but looking at your video it’s going to be inlet manifold off again.
Thanks for your video! I bet it would be a lot harder to do that on a fiesta ST.. My God the fiesta st has no room to move at all in the engine bay lol it sucks, worst part of the FiST..
Taking the under tray off just gives the option as it can be a tight space getting the hose all the way on from above, especially with the extra spacers. yes I know that spanner is the same thing as a wrench but wrench is more American and spanner is more UK and Ireland so I tend to say both from time to time
@@AdamRainey I know - just having fun - my Uni nickname was "Spanner Stan" LOL :) ! And yes, the throttle body hose is a little tricky to get back on from above.
I had a question. I’m doing an Alternator replacement job. I’m trying to find the easiest way of replacing the Alternator without taking too much things apart. Is the easiest way to replace the Alternator is to take off the Intake Manifold? Would that give me enough space or is there a better way??? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Very useful video Adam. I got the SD spacer rather than Mountune but when I placed it on top of the Mountune intake manifold, the bolt holes lined up but the spacer diameter was slightly smaller than the diameter of the intake manifold. Should it be flush to the intake manifold diameter? If not, would this be a problem to the performance? I also noticed that the SD spacer is not as deep as the Mountune one. Cheers!
Hi Adam, I want to fit NGK iridium LTR71X-11 along with mountune primary & secondary intakes. Do I need to gap & torque the spark plugs. RS Focus MK3 2017.Graham thx
Hi Graham, if you buy the plugs from Mountune then you do not need to gap them as they come pre-gapped which is awseome :) They do need to be torqued, yes. I can't remember the torque value right now but I will be making a video on this soon! Cheers :)
What is the thread size for that boost fitting you have on bottom side of intake manifold. I have there manifold and no plug came with kit to seal up that hole. i'm not running a secondary boost gauge or water meth.
Who do you have your car insurance through and do you declare all your mods?? I’m getting a Focus ST and some of the quotes I’m getting are ridiculous.
I have a fully declared modified car insurance policy purchased through adrian flux. They give a good deal if you chat to them on the phone for a while
420 now and have been for over a year. Mountune recommend it for 2 reasons: 1. Because they want you to spend lots of money to get them to forge 2. The higher power Mountune maps are not very good. You don't need to forge at this power level if you have a good map and also avoid lspi from bad driving
in and of itself, no. The cast part is much more robust than the OEM plastic, though, and can stand up to more abuse which it will see as the engine sees more and more upgrades. If you tune for more and more power, little stuff like this will come back to bite you if you leave it as is
@@AdamRainey thanks Adam! Finally bought one today and fitting Tuesday myself will be using this video to fit! Did you notice much in performance or noise?
How much money have you spent on this Focus since buying it? You probably could have bought a Rs Audi or merc amg or m Bmw for the same price, And far better car! Lol

Snapping plastics is one of my biggest fears on earth - the anxiety of doing mods that require plastic manipulation is real! Cheers mate :)
Looks superb Adam - big improvement on the OEM plastic part. Very much look forward to seeing the replacement engine cover on a future video!!
Cheers mate :)

This is the next addition to my Red Edition, great video as usual Adam👍
Cheers Andy, great mod I think!

That’s a thing of beauty.
Cheers mate, I agree 100%!
Top drawer once again. 👌🏼 Not sure why anyone would dislike this??
Thanks Mark! I agree, maybe jealousy or something lol
Lovely Adam ... great video as usual!!!
Thanks Nigel 🙂
Looks great brilliant video.look forward to more mods
Cheers Michael!
Good video mate. I use to work for the company that powered coated these! I did so many of them lol
Ah cool, cheers! What other stuff did you do?
@@AdamRainey we also did the intakes from mountune
Ah yes makes sense, good stuff!
thats super cool
Very good installation video as usual :) Looks great too
Cheers mate :)
Great video 🎰🥂 we definitely say do more installs 🔥🔥🔥
Cheers :) I will do, not done yet! :D
Looks class.
Cheers James :)
Great video!! Your engine bay is looking awesome! Makes me want to modify my red edtion 🙈
Cheers Paul, you should :)
Just need to get it tuned now! 😎👍
Yes mate you are correct! It is on the cards very soon but I wanted to have the intercooler sorted but I've been having some stock/supply issues
Great video...Keep it up
Thanks Andres, will do :)
Good work
Cheers Peter 🙂
Love the Content 👌 KEEP IT UP 👍🏻
Cheers Reece! 🍻
Thanks Adam, just finished my install. I wonder if we can reshape the evap line with some heat? 🤔
I would love to see a video with driving impressions.
got this on mine running msd520 map with custom tune on it running around 560 bhp pulls like a steam train love it
Still running ?

The spacer adds volume which can help with throttle response. The breather 100% requires the manifold off unfortunately yep. Cheers John :)
I hope youre going for the m520 mountune upgrade!
hello sir, I thought about it but there have been a good few reports of problems with it which worries me given how much money it costs :O
Adam Rainey You’ve gone quite far with this car already at some point reliability and longevity are at risk.
Thanks for your video!
I bet it would be a lot harder to do that on a fiesta ST.. My God the fiesta st has no room to move at all in the engine bay lol it sucks, worst part of the FiST..
Yea you may need a pretty good tool set. Cheers :)
I took my manifold off on my ST (for cleaning etc) and I was able to do it all from above without removing the under tray. (Spanner = Wrench LOL!)

Cable ties are b7tmy's favourite fixing method. He lost the car plot after selling the RS and getting some German motor vehicle. 😞.

Mine came with that plug already in there so I am not quite sure what size it is. You may need to phone mountune and shout at them
I want this piece bad.
Not easy to get sometimes and pretty expensive now unfortunately. I have watched over the years Mountune gradually upping the price over and over
How mutch can a 2.3 2021 handle as a daily ??
Why do you use those spacers?
Mountune throttle body spacer and de intake spacer to the head?
Sure why not?
@@AdamRainey yes but why is it for, that was my question 😀
Love your video’s😎👍 also did the JCR today 😎👌
@@Daviej87 there are potential benefits from increasing manifold volume and then they have ports for future fuel upgrades

Thanks David :) They are Boomba Racing caps
What power are you running mountune recommend that you forge at 400hp and above.

They do one with out the extra injector mounts
Not anymore, they havnt made it sold out for a while now so if you want one then you would have to find old stock at a reseller or on the used market
Think scc still have few old one
Quick question did you drain the coolant?
Nope, coolant doesn't get touched for this
The manifold looks great! Please forgive the noob question: does this provide any performance benefit at all? If so, what does it do?

That under tray must know its own way on and off by now,, lol,, yep, it would be a shame to cover up all that lovelyness,,,,
Yea lol, still a pain to have to get under the car
Awsome vid!! I don't suppose you know if that would fit the Focus ST? mines a 16 plate with all the same spacers 🤗🤗
Hi Anthony, yes it will indeed! Cheers :)
@@AdamRainey thanks Adam! Finally bought one today and fitting Tuesday myself will be using this video to fit! Did you notice much in performance or noise?
Is this install in preparation for high boost, or are you gaining any benefit on driving it just with it installed?👍
I plan on upping the power soon yes
@@AdamRainey je suis à 30psi avec le stock pas de soucis je compte monter le mountune pour être fiable voir si il y à un gain de puissance
An auxiliary boost gauge in the NPT port?
More like meth, aux fuel or nose. There’s a ton of places you’d run a boost gauge from and that’s not one.
What a turd comment. You are wrong lol
