First of all, I would like to thank you for vlogging my hometown Konya and being a pioneer in announcing it to the world. I like that you call us Turks very friendly, but you should also know that you are a very sincere, smiling, sweet and unprejudiced couple. I learned that you have been in Turkey for 15 months in this first video I watched and I will immediately look at your other videos. As you said, western tourists do not prefer to come to Konya. I think the reason for this is because Konya is a spiritual and religious city and is a somewhat arid city geographically as a visual feast. There is almost no forest, but our mayor is trying to close this gap by making lots of parks, planting trees in the parks and planting grass. In addition, Konya is the 7th metropolitan city of Turkey. I would also like to say that the place where men and mostly old uncles sit and drink tea is called a coffee house. Usually, after retirement, they sit outside the mosque and chat. That's why those who come to Konya from other provinces call it a retired city. :D Konya is also not preferred for young people because it is a city without nightlife. Usually after 10 pm everyone goes home, there are few people outside. Our roads are very wide and straight. It is a very calm and peaceful city. Since I've talked about my hometown enough, I would like to say this. There are few English speaking parts in Turkey and unfortunately I'm getting into it. That's why I translate from google translate. I hope you translated it correctly. :D

    • @chehrazadeesmey8399

Konya is well known amongst many french speaking people who are interested in spirituality in general and in Rumi in particular, thanks to the work of Eva de - Vitray-Meyervitch. She was a christian nun who converted to Islam. I learned about the spiritual beauty of Konya through her books and testimony. She translated the whole Mathnawi of Jalaludeen Rumi into French ( 50.000 verses and 1700 pages ).
My wish when dreaming about visiting Turkey is "first" to go to Konya insha Allah.

It really brought tears to my eyes when these two random strangers gifted you a scarf and taught you how to tie it. I live in Britain and have lived in Germany before and to be sincere, I sometimes really feel like as if that kindness and human connection that used to exist a couple years ago has completely vanished. Our society is at a point where everything happens so fast and we take everything for granted, hence why we've lost touch with so many important things in life such as human connection and nature. I really hope that one day I'll be able settle down in a different country like Turkey and live in a small village near the sea with kind people and natural food and lots of animals.

@@suzydymock4125 Turkish people can be Muslims and not cover their heads or they can do so. Covered people and non-covered people live together, even in the same family, one of the two siblings is covered and the other is uncovered. These are normal things. In cities like Konya, the number of veiled people is higher, but there are still unveiled people. Especially in university areas.

If they're happy and they don't disrespect me or other people with their decision, then who am I to tell them what they should do? It's all a matter of freedom. Btw men have to cover up as well when praying as far as I'm concerned.

Sufi is nothing to do with islam.
Islam is to follow Quran and suna fore profeet SAW, nothing to do with rumi and sufi.
So konya is not palace fore lslam.
