This channel exists to document unit counters within StarCraft 2. Tya's Unit Tournament features epic battles between units in StarCraft 2, using music from the game's soundtrack. Units are chosen from Protoss, Terran and Zerg forces, or a coop commander such as Raynor, Nova, Artanis, or Kerrigan. Units will independently use their abilities, in a basic way. All units use Legacy of the Void stats, the same units you'd see in SC2 esports controlled by the likes of Serral, Maru, and ByuN. The resource beneath vespene is the unit's cost in the mod I run on the SC2 arcade, Direct Strike. Enjoy!

It never gets old how a few guys in armor and rifles can take down a ship that is almost 1km in length that is equipped with neosteel armor which is designed to withstand slip space travel and concentrated laser fire :D
Right? Scales in Starcraft never made any sense.
The Battlecruiser should be considered a massive Hero unit. Replace it with a futuristic equivalent of an AC-130 Spectre-Gunship or such, for regular campaign & co-op games.

@@simonsoupshark8009 Watched last episode few hours ago. The Spear of Adun at the same map and Taldarim Mothership was HILARIOUS.
The Hyperion does 3x as much damage while moving so with micro (and with a few better placed Yamato shots) Raynor could have won against... Raynor.
@@SaulGoodman3D2049 Thats the point. With the same thought the Pride of Augustgrad could let the Corruptors a little bit closer and then use their ult to vanquish much more units.
Those Prides started super strong and by the last 150 corruptors they dropped like flies.
The corruptor's ability to stack is horrifying without AoE.

Well, that's how they work in coop. You blast wave of enemies with yamato and after some time, when cool down is over you blast another wave with it. Sending Prides to fight without yamato is a huge waste of money, cause they'll probably die
Well, Prides’ main attribute is that triple AoE Yamato blast. Otherwise they’re just regular BCs with more health.

I had the Hyperion pegged to die, so that one was good.
The broodlings that Aberrations spawn are dumb, and it was surprising to see the Slayers lose.
Prides of Augustgrad or no, the numbers favored the corrupters. So that was sure.
Dragoons aren’t to be fucked with. They are crazy powerful.
Nice to see Za’gara’s units getting some attention (well, beyond the ridiculous AoE Scourges). Can we see her Hunter Killers versus normal Hydralisks? Or maybe her versions of Corruptors?
I am quite surprised about the first game. The path finding of footman Raynors is so unbearable. But the last fight was more or less a surprise.

Every time I used Aberrations in game they seemed to have sucked. But on Tya's videos they win often. 🤷🏻♀
They do spawn lesser stuff on death, normal aberr dont spawn them

My predictions:
- Raynor (remember seeing the hyperion lose to marines, so I expected it to lose to hero marines too even if this is the one with the sniper rifle)
- Aberrations (I've seen this before I'm pretty sure)
- Prides (thought I had the read on the lesser numbers squad)
- Diamondbacks (didn't have much behind this)
Jim on foot only try to snipe the piloting evil Jim from another dimension, with the help of his halucinations.
Raynors, Slayers, Corruptors, Diamondbacks
4/4 for me today! 1st match was a nailbiter, numbers 3 and 4 felt like the easier ones to guess. I still don't fully understand what Aberrations do, but they seem to win a lot so I went with them and they delivered once again.
Aberrations spawn 2 splitterlings (zagara banelings) when they die. They are quite op

if it were a 360 surround, I bet the Prides would have had the advantage. More clumps to wipe out that way.

the pride of augustrod its kinda like with seiege tanks you cant allow them to just use it on a single unit with no other targets its an AoE Yamato cannon thats basicly eveyone is using on the same unit and onle when like 1 other unit is in range its gotta be like a delay on using that cannon you know what i mean?
Prides of should let all corruptors to stack and then kill them in a few shots
And got killed way faster than before with 500 corrupters shooting at them?

If the diamond backs moved those as they attacked and then the dragoons durped around it'd be a Terrain win
Are the slayers blinking and then activating their 3 second invulnerable shield? Because that would be wasting the ability
Their invulnerability is being triggered by the baneling splash, which Zagara has an upgrade to increase their radius by 50%. This does give them increased survivability against Zagara's banelings than other units, but not only do aberrations drop 2 banelings per death, they're also splitterlings, so the invulnerability just doesn't last long enough to completely weather all the explosions.
Raynor wins! I like this theme... how bout some tassadar on tassadar action, Fenix vs Fenix, etc. Duke vs Duke or artanis vs artanis wouldn't work so well because air
Can someone explain me why is it always sniper raynor and not the regular marine raynor?

He's basically just a souped up marine.
He’s good at clearing units in a thin line with his penetrator round. He’s actually only good in context of belly of the beast.

Well we found the perfect counter to the slayers, who cares if they are invisible when they will detonate the banelings on top of themselves?
They aren't invisible, they are invulnerable. When the banelings detonate near them in that state it doesn't do anything. But it only lasts for a second, and triggers when they are first hit, AKA when a baneling detonates on the frontline and splashes them, so they don't get to use it against the direct hits of the banelings or aberrations.
