Awesome. I searched a lot on how to convert 3d solids to wire-frame, and got lots of different results. Your video is the best one, and helped me a lot. Thanks for sharing :-)
Thankyou Thank you for not spending a long time telling us what you were going to do but just doing it with a great commentary. Thank you for trying it all out first before making the video so the info flow didnt stop at any point. Thank you for explaining the tools properly. Thank you for teaching me something new. If you haven't already then maybe you should consider a " how to make a youtube tutorial" tutorial. I can think of at least 20 people i would send to watch your "tutorial" tutorial. How many times do i rant rant rant rant..................................................... Cheers
I *love* the Ruiz brothers' 3D printing content, but are you being sarcastic? The video is titled "How to make Voronoi Patterns in MeshMixer", and about 1/3rd of the video, starting at about 9 minutes, is making Voronoi patterns in Meshmixer, the other 10 minutes is explaining the project the object is for, modeling it in Fusion360 and slicing the part.
Thanks for this, I was able to follow it step by step in regards to Meshmixer and made my own light cover using a simple sphere from the native Windows 3D Builder !!! Awesome video and again, many thanks for taking the time to do this.
Really good vid, you got me launched. Note to self - make more swoopy curves in future designs - Voronoi needs curves to work with, flat spots don't convert well.
Great video. Is there a way to keep the internal dimensions the same? When I use a shell it adds the pattern on both sides closing the internal volume.
Nicely explained - can you tell us how to only do the voronoi patterns on part of an object. Eg at the top and bottom the pattern is tighter, but I'd prefer it did not change the original object at all in unselected regions. The pattern tool seems to affect the whole object even if only part of it is selected.
You don't have to do the step with creating the shell so there are no double walls. But then you need to reinforce the edges of the vase with additional triangles in the meshmixer.
Thx. Really enjoy your vids. Always interesting, and useful. Also, I always learn something new - like mesh reduction brush!:) The effect in this vid using Fusion360, and MeshMixer is very cool and clever. I would make one "correction" though: more technically the resulting pattern should be called "Voronoi-like", as it looks a bit like a Voronoi, especially to the untrained eyed, but it is not mathematically a "proper" Voronoi. Of course, the finer point may not matter to most, but as a math teacher I felt compelled to make note :) Anyhow, again, great work as alway; keep it up... P.S. Yes, I realize I'm "late to the party", but hey, we come across things when we come across them.
OK, i love this, and already did my, but i mdo have printing time over 1 day - what is wrong with that what i copied from you? or how i should set my parameters on Cura Slicing? Please advise. Thanks
Wow. Great work. One question - after saving the .stl with your recommended options but my model doesn't look "squary" as you said, it looks so smooth in Meshmixer. What else do I need to set inside Fusion?
Hi, thanks for this video.!! I wanted to ask information, the size that you set, 2 mm .. increases internally or externally? I already have a mesh made of rhino and I have to respect the internal extent, I wish those 2-3mm thickness are outward. How can I do ? thank you Sorry for my bad english :D
Thanks a lot for the tutorial! The thing I don't really like is that your body has two layers. I mean that it's not the solid side, but it has 4 surfaces. How to get rid of it? I don't want my body has different holes inside and outside.
I am trying to do a pattern while preserving some material near screw locations (basically a full pattern but negating some regions). Is there a way to do this? I haven't been able to figure it out so far
I see that there is only 'Dual Edges' options in Meshmixer. Is there any other way to not have to parallell patterns and instead just have one solid voronoi wall?
I used to to use the website voronizer.com but this seems to be a lot better since you can just voronize where you want. The website just randomly voronizes the whole object :-)
When i import the object into meshmixer, its a smooth form, there are no triangular tessellations on it. How do you get those triangular tessellations in the first place when you import it, can someone please tell me
I would say when you exported the geometry to STL you forget the RESOLUTION/REFINEMENT setting on HIGH or something like that, it should be at least on medium or low, less the refinement the geometry will be more course, so the edges will be more visibly, thats my opinion
Downloaded today and brought a similar shape STL from Rhino into Meshmixer and every time I change shapes from the rods to create the voroni pattern the program crashes. Any thoughts?

Thank you sooo much! I wondered for sooo long how people made these without a fuss! Thank you!
+Redstoneghost133 Happy to help :-D
The shell tip was the great takeaway... thanks!
Wow, I hadn't really taken the time to watch a Layer by Layer before. really great show! Very well done.
Useful stuff! Way easier than I thought

Excellent tutorial. Thanks for taking the time, breaking the process down and simplifying.
Thanks very much for this pal, i've been struggling with other software packages to get this done for days now!
Awesome tutorial! I'm going to try using this information to create a PC case. Wish me luck!
My English is poor, but I fully understand what you say for. Thanks!
Really good vid, you got me launched. Note to self - make more swoopy curves in future designs - Voronoi needs curves to work with, flat spots don't convert well.
Fantastic! And here I thought this was done manually through CAD. (Thank You meshmixer! :)
finally I have been waiting for a video on voronoi video
Very cool indeed, thanks for sharing :) What tools do the people you mentioned at the beginning use ?
Awesome tutorial again. Im going to try it when I get home for my Ikea hanging lamp

Thanks for that! Much apreciated! :)

How to make only one pattern and not two on top of each other? Should the model be surface model instead of solid?
awesome and very easy for beginner, thanks, how do you mount the led ring into this shade?
thanks ! nice job!!
Damn good pipeline mate was looking for something completely different but im definitely gonna try this!
Thank you so much for this tutorial!

great work. thanks so much for the video. i am big fan!
Really informative video thanks :) I'm going to try this now!
Great work dude, well explained! Can you provide image of that print? It look awesome!
Hi,
thanks for this video.!!
I wanted to ask information, the size that you set, 2 mm .. increases internally or externally?
I already have a mesh made of rhino and I have to respect the internal extent, I wish those 2-3mm thickness are outward.
How can I do ?
thank you
Sorry for my bad english :D
Hi great tutorial, did you record a timelapse of the print so we can see what it looks like complete?
Thanks! Yes we did, printed on a Flashforge Creator Pro 3D Printer. th-cam.com/video/9t9-mZ1Pqwc/w-d-xo.html
Awesomesauce!
Hello, for me, the triangles on the object are not visible. How to make the triangle structure appear ? THX (FR)
Thanks a lot for the tutorial! The thing I don't really like is that your body has two layers. I mean that it's not the solid side, but it has 4 surfaces. How to get rid of it? I don't want my body has different holes inside and outside.
Great Video! Thanks a lot!
can we actually print voronoi without support?
Can we apply it to the full depth, not only for paries?
Great tutorial
wow!!
Thank you so much.I see that video amazing happy.
thank you) did you print it? wanna see ))
Amazing video, thank you.
I am trying to do a pattern while preserving some material near screw locations (basically a full pattern but negating some regions). Is there a way to do this? I haven't been able to figure it out so far
that would be good to know, I would like to use this on prints that I want to lower the volume on, but keep some dimensional accuracy
@@majorkuso6720 same. Haven't found anything so far
your video was very helpfull. can someone provide me a link to downloed meshmixer for free id highly appreciate it
Hey bud, thanks for this. Your a cool dude.
sir i need voronori plugin for sketchup make voronori structure i am architecture student i cant find extenstion plzz help me if u can plzzzz :(
I see that there is only 'Dual Edges' options in Meshmixer. Is there any other way to not have to parallell patterns and instead just have one solid voronoi wall?
He explains around 16:30. Simply don't shell your shape, keep it a solid!
Very cool!

Thanks man, I always wondered how they do those patterns on complicated shapes like that. By the way, are you Pinoy?
Where is the actual vid? Please return
It looks as if MeshMixer is auto smoothing my STL file so that I cannot see/edit all the geometric shapes. What should I do?
For anyone dealing with this -- you go into preferences and change "Mesh Normal Mode" to "Face Normals"
thank youuuuuuuuuuuuu
Well done Noe!
Downloaded today and brought a similar shape STL from Rhino into Meshmixer and every time I change shapes from the rods to create the voroni pattern the program crashes. Any thoughts?
doesnt work on volume only surface
OH THANKS !
thank you thank you
How to torture your printer and yourself! hahahah
you gave me the answer
Reticulating Splines
