you are reinforcing the wrong part. the top section is in compression,the bottom section takes the tension and the load. nice weld job and good materials.
Does this welding compromise the flexibility and longevity of the frame? Or is stronger then factory? I’ve a rusted frame with a coins hole and been told is behind repair 😮
i live in a land locked country in southern africa and i've owned a land rover since 1996 and it's still got the original chassis paint on it with very slight surface rust. it's amazing how long things last here

What a dog to do rusted chassis,make it look good isn't easy
I'd rather travel to a warm dry state and get a rust-free frame.

Here’s a good idea just moved to California, Arizona or Texas. You don’t have to worry about rest fuck all that free repair
