I bought the Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 back in February and love it! I have other heavier and more powerful bikes but the Enfield get ridden the most.
Just bought the 2020 Royal Enfield Continental gt650 and I have to say. What a stellar bike to ride, it's agile and light weight but it has a beautiful exhaust tone and rides like butter. The clip-ons are raised slightly for a less aggressive seating position so as my daily rider it works wonders.
The bobber TFC is insane in person.. I'm a Bonneville guy and do like the new Thrux, but after attending the triumph best of British showcase of 2020 models I can say the TFC bobber is a show stealer

Nothing against Japanese bikes, but for retro style I have this idea that Europeans do it better, maybe I'm wrong, but is my general idea. If I could get a second bike it would probably be the Royal Enfield GT. Those things look GREAT and would be a lot easier on the wallet than my Street Twin was (although I do kinda miss it).
Amazing video... I loved so many models in one video. Absolutely fantastic and really shows that the market continues to shift, yet grow. Keep'em coming... very well done.
Moto Guzzi Rough. That's a nice bike! The Husqvarna bikes. Not just the Pilen bikes, but the enduro range aswell. They have looked the same for many years! But it's not a retro, I know. Well, I picked the Honda CB650R Neo. It's already in my garage! Done 11 000km now and it's smoother than ever. Love it!

The interceptor for value for money and to be a basis for a transformation project, the speedtwin as the best all rounder, the BMW NineT racer that makes my heart skip a beat. Of course if Honda would release a CB 750 four ex in celebration for the 50th birthday of the original UJM... that would make my day.
Excellent overview & relevant info. - Thank U! I'm not a fan of matte paint, esp. for retros, but I'm a big fan of retros, ever since my 1st Bonnie (1966).
A great snapshot of some brilliant bikes, I need to build a bigger garage!!! I'm bias being as I own a 2020 Triumph Speed Twin which is just so much fun to ride and has a real premium feel to it. I love another British iconic make, the Royal Enfield, such good value for a really good looking modern classic.
Great reviews, agreed on most all your opinions. Manufacturers: don’t fall into the HD trap thinking bigger is always better and STOP with the flat black already.
Big big Motolove! Love my very own Kawasaki. Always putting up the good stuff like Delta Parole, Metallica, Alice In Chains and others when I am working on her and sometimes even on drive! Moto is life
I completely agree. I really wanted a triumph scrambler until I discovered they're not made in the UK. The V7 is true to it's marketing, so I'm likely buying the moto guzzi next.
@@jimmie413-z8m What I really like about the Enfield use the vintage look. If I ran across an old CB 750 (1969-1975) I'd be interested, but the new Enfield would come with a warranty that would be nice to have.
Love my moto gizzi v7. I have all kinds of bike in one. Mine started as a stone. I have all the parts and different seats side panels number plats and all. I can go from different colors to style of bike in no time. Like owning 5 bikes in one and the bike does a great job in any situation. Maybe not the fastest but just does everything well. My opinion
The Indian FTR is very retro in the flesh. The “gas tank” covers offer old school shape while the Indian graphics harken back to the early 1900’s. A round headlight, steel tube swing arm, and spoke like wheels round out the retro flair. It looks more authentic as a retro representative than the XSR900/700 and hits heavily on flat trackers from the 1950 through to the 1980’s. Not to many names in the industry pull at the classic heart strings like Indian.
My god.. the Triumphs are absolutely beautiful. All of them! Theres too many beautiful motorcycles for my little wallet. Thruxton RS would me my first pick of this list.
Ahren Jadir you sir are a perfect candidate for the no nonsense Continental GT650 from Royal Enfield, it looks the part, costs 1/3rd to buy and 1/2 to maintain and run!
@@skykur Performance as good as you can get for that price, if we compare trump triple rs with Augusta brutale 1000. You know which one is better and expensive.
We need to see more retros in the 500 -750 cc range!! As a biker from the late 1960s to 1980 I never understood the bigger bikes! I don't need speed I want reliability and upright style!
To me what looks retro about the Indian FTR1200 is the wheel size. 18 & 19 inch compared to 17 inch. Looks great to me. Most of the 70s bikes I grew up looking at had 18 & 19 inch wheels.
The Kawasaki W800 is the most gorgeous one of the bunch for me, what it lacks in power it more than makes up by being the most authenthic looking retro bike manufactured by one of the big four.
That was comprehensive! I do hope that cb-f makes to production. Although the ss swingarm looks out of place, it is based on the cb1000r, so I guess that comes with the deal. My favourite part of it is the proper seat!
Honda CB 650 CB 1000 and the Royal Enfield interceptor or the Ducati scrambler is my favourite from this list 👍if I had to pick one it would be Honda all the way 👍
I love the Triumph Speedmaster. I don't know if it's retro enough for this list, but it's my favorite of all the Triumphs. I'd even be happy with the smaller engine in one. Then there's the Enfield they should have built. The Thunderbird 650. It's available overseas with the 350 and 500 singles, but should be available here with the 650. And then there's the Enfield that made all the news last year, their version of the V-Twin Cruiser. I like everything about that bike except the huge bulbous thing hanging off the front of the engine case. Is that the transmission? The conversions done of that bike are better that the V-Twin the showed in the bike shows. What would be cool it a V4 based on the 650 twin cylinder engine. Two cylinders up front and two behind. That would give them a huge engine at 1300cc 'S and would sell like crazy in the US, and possibly Europe. It's fun to think about anyway.
I ordered a FTR1200S just before the lockdown so still waiting, but I think it looks the dogs,it definitely belongs on your list as a modern retro in my opinion. The Triumph bud Elkins tribute really looks nice, but the Triumph I could really go for is the stripped down 1200 scrambler that Guy Martin used for the Great Escape tribute.
The Ducati is stunning, but I am surprised to see no mention of the Ducati Cafe Racer or the Desert Sled, both of which are very beautiful bikes. The Triumph twin is alright, but it's very front heavy and quite a bit more unwieldy. And also missing is the new Honda Rebel 500, which is a great bobber styled cruiser that's got a ton of great features and at a terrific price point.
Drooled through the whole thing. I could argue that it's a good job I can't afford a new bike right now ( but it's not an argument I'd want to win ) Basically, I loved nearly all of them .
Nice review and well done! Like you , I've got mixed thoughts about the Indian. Never rode one but they look fast even when they're parked. Enfield provided three of their new models for a classic motorcycle ride that I do every year. The Continental comes very close in quality, looks, design as my Bonneville T100 ($9,700)---but, at $6,000, it's a great value.
I have a 2016 Thuxton R which I love, so would definitely go for the new RS. Perhaps you should include the CCM which received very positive reviews from MCN.
There can only be one retro for me and that is the Ducati Sport 1000 from Tron Legacy. It was THE Cafe racer before the trend started to rise. Shame they stopped production long before Tron Legacy released in 2010, otherwise the movie could've boosted the sales. Petition to bring back the Ducati Sport 1000!!!
Great list! So many bikes ide love to have the most since the seventies that I’ve liked in a model year. Very hard choice but I love the triumph bobber with the guzzi stone a close second. Can’t decide between the speed twin Bmw Kwai or Indian for third. Just so many beautiful bikes this year.
Hi MB - I'm not sure you've ridden the W800. If you had, I'm not sure you would be eying up the Triumph T100. They are completely different bikes. The T100 is refined and is definitely a retro. The W is authentically old school, and is so full of charm and character in a good way: that bevel driven cammed motor is amazingly torquey feeling no matter what the stats say. I have to say that as far as smiles per mile go, I haven't ridden another bike that made me grin so much. It is a very underrrated bike in the same the W650 was. Give it a go :-)
