    Nice haul and definitely a good deal! to be honest as you you say you could easily move on what you don't need, and recoup most of the cost but with todays prices I'd be tempted to make a suburban rake up and just move on the excess. As you start to concentrate on the locos and rolling stock you could eventually do a streamlined coronation, Langley do a body for one, it's a bit dated, but certainly a nice challenge as your modelling skills build up!. Looking forward to seeing the smoke generator conversion, Which decoder are you planning to use, as I know certain decoders can handle a smoke generator and others won't. keep up the good work.     Hello Naive Gauge.
    New metal wheels can be bought inexpensively from ' Mathieson Models ' and they produce wheel sets for coaches and wagons in N gauge especially for Graham Farrish, Dapol, and Peco wagons. I bought some for my Peco Wagons and they fitt and run better than they ever have even from new.
    Rails of Sheffield have them in stock and I can highly recommend them.
    PS. Do you run any Peco wagons? If you do, the 'Mathieson Models' wheel sets are a "must do" and your wagons will run better than they ever did.

      I think I will be doing a video in the future on re-reaming the axels, checking back-to-backs and fitting new wheelsets and lubricating.

    The "vestibule" carriages are not corridor carriages, but open carriages with vestibules at the end - the LMS had a lot of open carriages compared to the other grouping companies (and, unlike the other grouping companies, used them in ordinary trains rather than just on excursions or as dining carriages).
    Also, don't necessarily get rid of the brakes, especially the brake composites - a cross-country train that was portion worked might have had a lot of brake composites which would be detached for different destinations. See if you can look up some of these diagrams to get an idea of how these were set up.
    The suburban carriages you will want to keep if your area includes any local workings: these were the non-corridor carriages (i.e., compartments the whole width of the carriage, with one door each side per compartment and no way of moving between compartments).
    The "mainline" carriages look as though they are approximate models of ex-LNWR carriages (although they might also pass as ex-Caledonian or even ex-Midland - they are not, I do not think, accurate models of specific types, but somewhat generic carriages) of the 1910s. Carriages of this sort would have been in service on secondary long-distance trains in the 1930s.
    Finally, if you are modelling anywhere other than really close to London, you will want to think about inter-regional workings with carriages from other railway companies (the GWR, the LNER and SR). Carriages of each of these railway companies are available in N gauge.
    With all of the above, you might be able to put together a decent variety of coaching stock for your era. Pre-nationalisation rolling stock in N is *very* difficult for mainline layouts, so do think twice before selling any of this!
