- Vientiane, Laos, is one of the most laid back capital cities you are likely to visit. Here I'm taking a walk, both day and night.
If you like this video give it a thumbs up, subscribe if you haven't already (a big thanks to those who already have) and remember to press that all important notification bell for latest uploads. Cheers.
Great video Ed, I hope your audience appreciates the sacrifices you make to test all of this food and drink, the things you do for TH-cam 😂
I'm sure they do. Cheers, mate.
“Mmmmmm bloody good!” Very funny
ive got a sneaky sneaky feeling beer was involved in the narration of this video
Man just woke up and immediately stepped outside to make a vlog.
Not sure his hotel room came with a mirror
The things he does for us, he didn't even have a coffee and he's out filming...
Lmao
Kinda😂
He really is a mystery, wanders around , now can’t be bothered to shave, I fear for dear old Eddie long term..
Says he has emigrated from horrible UK…. wait until he gets ill, soon be running back home to get NHS free treatment.. because already you have shown everybody that you don’t like spending much .. keep lugging your possession around in your big suitcase …. Crazy just crazy !
Yes Asian countries can be a great place for a holiday but am unsure how good it would be to live there permanently.
Nice one Ed 👍🏴
Thanks 👍
Those hairs poking out the top of your t shirt need plucking sir 🤴 🍻
Haha he's a real man
🤣😂🤣
The girls love playing with them hairs in the wildmill...
That's his sex appeal
If he shaved them off it would mar Ed’s overall look
America will always love King Eddie, our favorite monger!
Thanks, Paul
Heard a rumor they don't sell razors in Laos... any truth to that?...
thought you was off the pop... pointless afternoon beer with food....
England misses you Eddie. It's crying for its native son to return to a proper English pub.
Great vid :)
Thanks!
Great video Eddy! Vientiane is a relaxing city😊
Thankyou
15 years ago i visited a barber in Vientiane. Since then people call me scarface. I hope you have more luck.
Very interesting video Eddie. Never thought about going to Lao before, but may consider it now. Im looking to do a 5 day stop over before traveling onto Manila in January next year. Lao might be an option, via Bangkok maybe. Anyway keep up the good work mate.
Thanks, Wayne
Must have a SHAVE - pay somebody to do it locally.
You could go to a barber for a shave
Watching Eddie having a pointless afternoon is nearly as pleasurable as doing them myself.
Great video 👍
Thanks for the reviews mate, i always wondered what laos was like, i could go just for the beers after this vid. Hope ya havin a great time champ 👍
Looks like you are having a great time there, thank you for the chance to experience these great places vicariously
Cheers, mate
Bloody Good stuff Ed 🍺🍺🍺
Cheers Eddie 🍻
Not to rain on your parade, but Laos can be toxic in March. Vientiane perhaps less so than Luang Prabang, but the discerning traveler might want to sport an N95 mask at all times or look forward to respiratory distress for the rest of the year. Just saying...
Very interesting Eddy, Laos is a place i have never been but i think its going to on my list now, cheers mate.
Awesome Eddy, yes enjoy your video cheers 😊
Thanks 👍
Cheers for the vlog! I have also travelled in this neck off the woods also on both side's off the River. Yes your right the beer is better in Laos
I had a soft spot for Nong Khai when I think back. Udon was not really my cup off tea through.
Hi Eddy great video as always keep up the great work that you do have a great day today and night
Thanks, Wayne
@@STEADY599 your welcome
Same ol same ol; the price of beer here is very very good value, the price of beer there is very very good value, the quality of beer here is very very good, the quality of beer there is very very good. Maybe watch the videos in the morning before 'breakfast' with a critical eye?
Good thing you're off the booze Eddy. You have amazing will power.
I was thinking the same thing
Tongue in cheek comment?😃
Enjoyable & useful TY
You'll be just about perfect to be Father Christmas this year 555
Great vid Eddy👍
Nice video thanks for sharing
Great vlog Ed, looks nice and chilled there mate :)
The town looks deserted 😂
Apparently you need to visit Dhaka Bangladesh or Delhi, Bombay.... there is chaos and..., that’s what you need
@@vientianetv7384 why do you think that I need chaos, idiot?
I was worried about you and little Eddy at the end of the video there!
'You like Lady?' I don't think so!
@@STEADY599 🤣
These videos are so much more engaging than knowing whats coming up along Walking Street! Well, at least yoyu're living the dream now steady eddy !
Thanks, mate
How do you find the heat mate? I've been in country 3 weeks now, and I'm done with the heat. It's relentless and exhausting.
I'd prefer it to the cold UK anyday
Thanks, informative as always. Will give it a miss.
Oh no, Eddy is turning into Howard Hughes!
Hey Eddie? No barbers there?
If you can't get razors go to the barber for a shave. Enjoy your time amigo.
What a nasty thing to say.
Sorry didn’t mean to say that he said he couldn’t get razors I understand where you’re coming from ,,,sorrrryyyy
It's an amazing difference on the temples, from Thailand to Laos, just crossing the Mekong river over a bridge. And you should go all in and find a real barber shop. Can't wait to see that! Cheers, Eddy!
Great video Edward 👍
Top ending😂😅😂
Hope you make to Vang Vieng and Luang Prabang Ed-both are absolutely worth the trip.
Renovating my last house in preparation to sell up and relocate to se asia.
Had a gut full of Australia-is overpriced and I don't recognise the place anymore.
Adventure before dementia.
Yes Australia is run by the terminally insane now .
Yes, they are both on the list. Best of luck, mate.
If you follow the news, you would know that vientiane was awrded the order as the cleanest capitan of asean
Thanks for the info
Edd an electric razor on Amazon £18 a copy of Philips I have had it a year now what a good one mate when you razors in Thailand it’s expensive mate
Those elephants are just concrete moulds. Anyway great Joe Biden impersonation, just bumbling hopelessly about.
Hi, Eddy..., One of your ( BEST ) videos ! ! * Talk about a ( CLEAN ) town/city ! ! Very impressed... I love History..., which would include Buddhist Temples. Vientiane, Laos ( Capitol City ) was so clean and beautiful, that I watched the video TWICE ! ! * Excellent video and very informative, and "Thank you" for sharing the video... "Semper Fi" Mike in Montana :)
Thanks, mate. I appreciate that.
I love the temples also…. 🙏🏼 ☸️ 🙂
Great video, thanks mate.👍
Thanks 👍
Well who would have belived it !! Two great monuments in the same year !! Both lasting the test of time 😂😂
Yes, I felt very old when I saw the year of that historical building!
Aging like a fine wine
@@MrGroganmeister Yes we all like a good bottle of old plonk 🤣🤣
Unsteady Eddy
Roadhouse BBQ & Grill is very good reasturant and they have Roast staks and gravy with everything.
I predict you will go out tonight, get pissed then do a livestream from your room at midnight. Spooky hey?
And you can just not watch..
Already watched last. Night@@JJ-vy2rh
You are kidding me, razors are such common items
I love a hairy bush bar
Thanks, Eddy. Excellent video. Regards
Cheers, mate
Great vid Eddie.
Looks a lot quieter than Pattaya Ed. Not much traffic about
0:16 hi Eddy
you look absolutely better especially when you are clean-shaven 😉
you looked a little ruff at the start of the video..........retirement mode !
Blooming good video insight to most of what Vientiane has to offer both day and night. Even though you seem to attract the wrong uns Ed. 🤣 🤣🤣. Anyway I feel like I,ve seen Vientiane now. 😀. Except for COREBEER brewery. 🤔😁😁😁. Cheers Ed.. Really good vid seen from the Sweeny's perspective. 👍👍👍
I think you could get very lonely exploring these sort of places on your own at a certain age. The cafe,s etc are all young couples . Don't you sometimes feel that you just don't belong ? I'm a similar age group and feel sometimes that even in Jomtien , that I've knocked the arse out of it now. I think a bit of female company to explore with is preferable. What,s the point as the saying goes,of going to Niagra falls and there is nobody to turn to and say Wow !!
Yeah. Thus my point about “lot of young backpackers” being a turnoff to me when walking around on my own as an old guy.
@@rossriver75yukon27 I agree totally, but at our age finding female company that doesn't charge you by the hour is pretty difficult.
@@Aran002 Sure. So, I tend to avoid such places as this. Or, I’d stay in my hotel at night. Really, I was a backpacker myself long ago but it was different. We were like adventuring. Not row after row of cafes, cafes. Now it’s such a namby-pamby scene. But, yeah, they’ve got a woman in tow, grr😊.
Jiffy is the same as 7-11 have many of them in Thailand at gas-stations.
If you not find razor blades,,why not go to a saloon and have a shave I have been to this city and they are all over.
Love the temples. Eddie….you should have gone into the main temple and shown us the main Buddha statue shrine. You go on the property…..but not into the temple itself.
Why not go inside so we can see the main shrine with the Buddha statue?
Temples are one of my main reasons for going to that part of the world. I’m a Canadian who went for Refuge in the Triple Gem, accepted the Five Precepts…. Becoming Theravada Buddhist.
The main teachings seem to make more common sense than anything else.
Namo Buddhaya, 🙏🏼 ☸️ 🙂
ED interesting vid try the barbers for a shave keep filming cheers
You use Google translate to type "Where can I buy disposable razors?" Translate to Laos then play or show it to your receptionist or a local
Walks past a barber shop.....er......
Tullys moved to a new premises out by the lake next to the Qube Hotel last year. The sign is still up on the street where it used to be. If you're going it's best to go early in the evening as it gets fairly packed from about 7 onwards.
Yeah, Tully's has been moved to a newly developed business area out of the city centre. Maybe it's 4 kms away, but, last summer, it took me a good 15 minutes in a tuk tuk. It's very large, and surprisingly it is hammered out with young Laotians rather than ex-pats / tourists.
Good stuff eddie enjoyed the walk about .
Havent been to laos in a few years 🍻👍
Few days of the Devil's soup may well be in order Eddy! Your choice pal but good videos 👍
the ending is funny
I haven't given up on vids of steady Eddy back in South America.
Go to a Salon and get the works, shave, massage and a manicure and pedicure. 😂
Go ahead Eddie, go with that ladyboy. She will liven up your life for a change.
Hi Eddy, go get a haircut and they will probably give you a shave too 😁😁
Lol Eddy there was a bit of resemblance !
Eddy the last time I was there the street signs were in French and English .
Sill a lingering French influence there .
Who else hates night markets?😂😂😂
Vientiane must be one of the prettiest capital cities in South East Asia. I haven't been there in since 2010, but I remember thinking that it was like a quieter and poorer version of some of the big cities in Isaan like Khon Kaen or Udon Thani. That being said, I also remember that it had excellent European food, which those places don't have a great deal of.
Looks like much hasn’t changed since 2004 - still as dull as ditchwater. Highlights being the mysterious missing Irish bar and an unsuccessful search for a roast. Thanks for the candid review Ed 😂
Great video as always Eddie, enjoyed the temples nice to see something different , looking forward to seeing more of your travels in Lao, stay safe, cheers mate 👍
Good to hear from you, mate
Canberra in Australia is a pretty quiet, small, some would say dull capital city.
Especially compared to Sydney and Melbourne.
Lot of young backpackers? Okay. Thanks for the warning anyway.
Great video. Good Content.
For your Vlogs you might better off using a go pro/ DJI action 4/or DJI Pocket 3, for smoother footage, and wider Field of view.
Is it not safe to travel to Myanmar, as it’s supposed to be a very beautiful country and from vlogs I’ve seen I certainly have to agree with that. A couple of days in chiang Rai and then
up country alittle into Myanmar 🇲🇲 😊🙏
I watched a documentary about a man named John who was living on the Thai/Myanmar border and got into trouble helping a group of missionaries.
@@jp_89 His last name wouldn't be Rambo, would it? 🤣🤣
@@Aran002 yes that’s it. have you seen it too? He seems to have lived an interesting life rather than hanging around in beer bars.
@@jp_89😂😂
You can't afford not to drink at that price Edward.
Back on the booze I see.
love Laos.... motorbike riding heaven...
Tyson kitchen and of course Eddy has chicken. If you don’t know Tyson is a big chicken corporation in the USA.
Ah. This video gives me memories from visiting Vientiane around year and a half ago. I had dinner at Sticky Fingers with a local who I met from Bumble. Be looking forward for your second book. Your 5 go to Pattaya book was such a good read, I read it a second time
That's great to hear, mate. Sequel coming soon. Cheers.
vietnam cambodia loas. - 10 to Thailand Eddy
Vang Vieng and Luang Prabang have more to offer. Nice waterfall outskirts of Vientiane. There is bank where u can get more money from the cash machine.
Laos looks good.. feel inspired to make a trip there myself. Seems like Thailand before all the gaudy tourist trade setup
Laos is a nice country. Good places coming up soon. Thankyou
Brilliant vid. Loved the last bit 😅
Thank you 😁
great content on vientieine eddy get yourself a leccy razor .or go the barbers see if yea can get a shave ,looking like a big issue seller outside primark lol😛
Watch out for those Beer Lao- Two or three of those and it’s anything goes. You’ll be heading down some dark alley looking for cats.
You’ve got no spare razors Eddie and you lug that bloody big suitcase everywhere , you need to plan better my friend…😂
Hi Eddie, thank you for wonderful video, enjoy your time in Laos
Thanks! 😃
That looked like an inviting location. You need to tell us about the expat vibe.
Eddie... Many other tubers are growing those scratchy whiskers. Looks messy to me. Makes me want to scratch myself. So thought you too. But glad it was just a razor thing. Anyway, the city is larger than tourists might think. There was a vlogger..."Now In Lao". They explored everywhere and adopted a little Lao girl. And do good chiHe is a Aussie( Gdai mate). And a Lao wife. But haven't checked his site lately. Thank
