Well, yes, but Paul only started consistently touting that four-sides-of-the-square message *after* George's death. Before then, he was obsessed with the McCartney-Lennon songwriting thing and being recognised as the true Beatles avant-gardist (rather than John) - as Ringo said just before the Concert for George in '02, Paul was being "under-handed" in his self-interest. I don't want to take away from the spirit of your message, but Paul McCartney's statements are always, and always have been, very calculated and agenda-based. Ringo, on the other hand, just transcends these issues: it all happened, and he's not really bothered about what anyone else thinks. Which is just one reason he was so vital to the Beatles whole.

What a beautiful tribute to the best of friends. I recently read a biography of Harrison. He loved Ringo. Really loved him. He said Ringo delivered the best back beat of any drummer in the business. Ringo said that he was visiting George at the very end. Days away. Ringo had to leave after a time to go tend to his daughter in New York (they were in England) as she was having surgery. George said, "You want me to go with you?" A real offer made from his deathbed. That's friendship. Rest in Peace George.

Great song and a great tribute to George. I've just heard it for the first time. You get the feeling that Ringo and George were best friends, in part because of the understandable focus on the Lennon-McCartney partnership. The Beatles wouldn't have been the Beatles without George and Ringo!
This is just way too sweet. I love how, even amidst all of their squabbling, they didn't shy away from writing these sweet songs about one another. For guys of that era, where being macho was that much more valued, that seems unusual to me. Edited to add: I just realized Eric Clapton played the solo on this. That's perfect. Ringo probably figured that's the closest he could get to George!
@ jackob mishor : With all due respect to Eric and the pentatonic league he's in, he's yet to come up with solos like the ones in "All My Loving", "Till There Was You", "Something", "A Hard Day's Night" and "My Sweet Lord". George's solos were songs within a song that have stood the test of time and will continue to do so.

@@eddiebaez2093 I think Ringo was closer to George though, i know John did a version of I'm the Greatest & Goodnight Vienna for Ringo to use
Really? How do you know this?
As Lennon told it, it was George who brought Ringo into the band.
Ringo's gotta be eternally grateful for that.
This is a really nice "thank you".
@@mrfester42 by reading books etc
This is darling. So young and wrinkle-free. They appeared happy and free of worries. Thankyou for posting this
Thank you Ringo! RIP George and John! Still crying ...... "The thing is, we're all really the same person. We're just four parts of the one." Paul Mccartney - Love you all!
@66joydipi thanks for that quote - its lovely
"It's a drag" - Him at John's death
Aw Paul's quote 🖤🖤🖤🖤
"I can always feel you by my side" gets me almost every time 😢💔
Fantastic video! and a beautiful song by Ringo for his beautiful friend and brother!,...love & miss you George,... and yes, your song lives on,..we're never without you! xx
Joyce - absolutly correctly... this Video is the best I'd seen from the Beatles and shows us the great friendship between George and Ringo
George was beautiful :'(
Selena Ortega I always thought George was the cute one, not Paul.
The City of New York saluted you now in this late era God decided to watch!
Ringo and George, the Oldest and the Youngest, always remained the Closest of Friends, till the end of George's life.. They were the two Outside Bookends to the Lennon/McCartney unit that Truly Held the Beatles together.. Their Love for each other was Unique, Powerful, and Inspiring.. They Were Brothers !
Thank you for this Ringo.. Thank You... Lary
This song makes me cry... Lary
Never without you, George. You brought so much Light....
A beautiful song written by a beautiful person in tribute to another.
Beautiful! What these guys shared! Only they will ever know!
Well I know George shared Ringo's wife. Lol. Crazy times.
I love this song and the video of personal videos and photos of you and George.

This is really a GREAT song. How lucky was I to live in the time of the Beatles. Oh! How we miss George.
I share your view, best days of my life! Shook hands with each one of them at a Beatles Fan Club convention when I was 14.
I feel the same way. The Beatles made my world a happier place. I am so glad I was able to be part of that Phenomenon.
Same here. The sixties were the best part of my life.
A beautiful and fitting tribute to George. It touched my heart. Thank you George for your incredible talent, sensor of humour and wisdom. We all love and miss you! Rock on Georgey! 😊 😎 g🎸
Ringo is so underrated. First he made this. Then he did a cover of Johns Grow Old With Me. John and Paul were the artists of the group but Ringo and George were the heart.
Love this comment
WELL SAID
I always thought John and Paul were the heart and George and Ringo the root and back bone to which everthing else grew from.
All of them were the heart 😭 How did these guys even exist ?!!
One of the Best songs of Love and respect I have ever heard. How beautiful is this !!!
Such a lovely, lovely tribute! The song & video pulled at my heart strings and tears. Thank you, Ringo!
Listening still in Aug 2024 and in tears...love you George and miss you so.🙏❤️✌️
Just proves how cool Ringo is, and George. Isn't this just the best of Ringo's singing on any song? Great, touching.
Love the little references RIngo makes to George's music throughout the song. True mates for all time
Fantastic Friendship over the many years, miles, songs.thanks You Mr. Ringo . George had compassion, thanks for everything that You and George have done.
As I reflect on how much George Harrison meant, not only to me, but the entire world, I remember his wit, and hit great, great talent. In some way, he reminded me of my mother; always seeing the positive side of things. George, a wonderful, funny, at times, introspective - soo, soo many ways to describe this wonderful man. May we always remember the indelible mark this beautiful man has left upon this world ! We'll always love you, George!! You'll never be forgotten!! ❤❤❤❤😢😢😢😢
I love watching this video so much. Seeing George and Ringo spending so much time with eachother over the years is so heartwarming and wholesome!
I have always loved Ringo's voice and stage presence.
Thank you for this song, Ringo!!! George would have been honored I am sure!!! This is absolutely beautiful!!!!!❤
Here comes the sun is about you
I'm litterally CRYING.
An absolutely beautiful loving tribute to George from Ringo. Pure Beatles. It made me cry very hard. You see, I'm a 1st generation Beatles fan. I watched them on The Ed Sullivan Show when I was 11 years old. I instantly changed for the better.
Quite touching..... goes right to the heart! Not many people have a friend like this.... the longing is real!!!
I love George Harrison. What a good song! And so well produced. Ringo is a marvel.
Wonderful! Fab pics of great friends too 🏴🌈❤️
George died too young, in this century 59 is too young, nice to one of his best friends pay tribute like this, RIP George Harrison.😭
Julia Naylor George my sweet love. 💏💕
Ringo is adorable in a very deep level! ❤❤❤❤
What a lovely tribute to George.
Great song Ringo!
Sure do miss George. He put his heart and soul into all of his music. No wonder he and Ringo got along so well. They're cut from the same mettle.
Finally the best has been kept for last. The truest and most precious tribute to the late magnificent George Harrison. Belated birthday wishes to you Ringo, 81 years young. Blessings of joy, peace and happiness !
Ringos greatest song ever!
Ringo truly knew and loved George Harrison. What a simply lovely tribute to his friend, George.
I particularly like how Ringo incorporated the titles of George Harrison's songs into his own.
Kudos, Ringo!
Great song and a great tribute to George. I've just heard it for the first time. You get the feeling that Ringo and George were best friends, in part because of the understandable focus on the Lennon-McCartney partnership. The Beatles wouldn't have been the Beatles without George and Ringo!
Great tribute to the Quiet Beatle. Miss you George and John and Linda.
Eric Clapton , Great as usual!
@@LSU01 with all due respect to george, eric is an all other league in guitar skill
@@jackobmishor3845
They were close friends you dip stick.
@@jackobmishor3845 That's not what he meant ignoranus. He meant that because George and Eric were great friends and they banged the same chic.
Great song ringo you nailed it. What a brotherhood good and bad thats love.
