I want to thank you for taking the time to make this video and instruct on how to replace the suspension rods in our Whirl pool washer. We hope that it cures our problem with the *OL* and or *UL* codes and, allows the washer to resume normal cycling of wash loads.

Will replacing the rods help with aggressive shaking when the load comes to an end?

There are no KitchenAid topload washers that take these suspension rods. All KitchenAid models were of the Whirlpool direct-drive design. They don't have suspension rods, the tub sits on a base pedestal.

Are all rods the same? Or do you need the exact part number?

      What is your model number?

@@appliancepartspros washer model # is wtw5057lwo and according to the spec sheet it says I would need rod model # w11396716 which now replaces the old w11171694. I only ask that question because these two models are so much more expensive (3 times) then the regular ones. Dont need them yet, but I figure I might as well look into part pricing in case something happens later on.

W11396716 is the part that you will need for that model. This kit includes all 4 suspension rods. We have no way to determine if a different part would work for your unit.

      Re: WTW8900BW0
Problem: Will not agitate. The inner tub is not floating. Bottom portion of hub gear with a metal washer is stuck, will not rotate or pull off. Im considering just splitting it with a flathead or chisel. Obviviosly, it'll need a tub seal and bearing kit as well as a new hub gear.
Having an issue with removing the inner tub after the hub gear is removed. Seems the jack method even has not broken it free. I've heard and seen a video of a guy using an air hammer. He placed it in the center of the shaft where the wash plate bolt was removed. Is this ok, you think?
      Again Thanks

You can try warming the part with a hairdryer or use a penetrating oil, or if necessary cut/split the part with a small sharp cold chisel and order a replacement basket hub kit

@@appliancepartspros yes i split with screwdriver n hammer. Hey i got a wtw8500bwo on normal cycle setting does a few spins running a little water. On light soil, high spin, cold wash temp. Replaced suspension and hub gear. Rotor Was laying on ground before that, still is once water fills with water and laundry. Lol .So i Blocked up to raise it off ground for a try. Recirculation ran few times and alternating slow spin( by the way got a diagnostic code 68 before starting this cycle, unplugged 5 minutes before starting this) . Trickled water on 39 counter while slow spinning . Stayed on 39 forever then jumped to 6 minutes , drained. Stopped at 4 mins couple spins while draining again, draining only, then spin and draining then shut off. I need a excorscist. Lol. Let me emphasize the prior owner appears to have instalked new drum seal, bearings , shaft, stator, and rotor cover. I replaced hub gear, and suspension. It all looks new. I checked shaft nut for over tightening and stator damage. None seen. Yetbi dont understand why inner tub wont budge( come off) even with jack method. Nor.....

I maybe unintentionally repeating facts i already stated. Sorry if i did.
In regards to WTW8500BWO will not agitate issue. As i already mentioned i think, i installed new suspension springs and affiliatted bushings but still to low when loaded. Better but still Caused no agitation. I blocked up and learned how to run manual diagnostics after studying the sheet thats inside the machine at length. Still code 68 and now 70. Blocking up resolved the issue however. In light of that i Adjusted feet out about 3/4 inch, tested ground clearance by pushing down tub to ensure no ground contact. Then unplugged for 5 minutes reran manual tests. All checked out. Also ran a cycle to wash laundry and all functions, including agitation, rinse, and high speed spin were excellent. Thank God. Lol. I appreciate you guys time brother. Good day.
