5 yrs ago, I sang this song at my brothers funeral. Alcoholism, drug addiction, his own demons took him away long before then. We miss you so very much😥😥😥
I have at times wished for an angel to come take me away. Anybody struggling with mental health, please know that you are a part of humanity and the universe and are never truly alone.

And what is that second chance? That chance is made up of many things in life. Mine was falling in love again with my wife of 52 years, after years of me being complacent and taking her for granted. What a gift from God. I can write a book with this event that was totally unexpected. It feels like it was in the beginning.

Yes it is. It is a beautiful song that has the ability to resonate with many people in many situations from all walks of life, but yes it's original meaning was about addiction. As was Under the Bridge by Red Hot Chili Peppers and I am sure MANY others. I love this song. I am 35 and have been listening to it since I was 12 years old and lost my father. At that time it meant something different. He was an alcoholic. Since then I have lost numerous people including my older brother to overdoses. Doesn't matter what it's about. It matters the comfort it brings. God bless you all.
