This song reminds me of my sister. She sacrificed her youth to raise my brother and myself. We grew up in a physically abusive household. She tried to do everything possible to keep us safe and provide some sense of normalcy. She has always been my hero and my mother in every way. She saved my life when I was severely depressed about 20 years ago. She is my strength and I love her so much. She is getting married in October. I plan on singing this song to her. Just like the song, I would honestly be nothing without her.
My Step Daughter sent me this at her graduation from HS, when I was diagnosed with leukemia. I am a retired Marine, she’s been my daughter for 10 years, she’s third yr nursing school now. I love my sweet girl with all of my heart❤️

But once the time comes, I feel like I can't do it because I'm going to be crying my eyeballs out. I was also thinking about singing some songs that I wrote that are about losing a loved one. I sang some of the songs that I wrote at my dad's funeral, including Amazing Grace OMG!!! He loved it when I sang Amazing Grace to him! But I could barely sing it at his funeral without crying. My Grandma died just over 6 years ago now. This was played at her funeral. She meant everything to me and recently feeling very emotional about her I need her right now. She'd fix everything.
Lost 7 family members in the past two years and it's been miserable, but knowing my grandma and grandpa are united again makes my heart happy. They played this at both their funerals and it brings me comfort hearing this every night when I feel saddened.

Though mostly I feel at peace after his heavenly transition but there are times when I struggle and need him. There are times when my smile turn to tears and my sweet moments of remembrance turn to grief. I love him so much. I know I am blessed beyond measure to have had such a beautiful, loving and protective man in my life, but I do struggle with the lost sometimes. My heart is broken into tiny little pieces and beyond repair but I throw myself into my work and thank our lord for another day to be here for my children. This song is hard to listen too. I just buried my son who was in his 30’s recently in July 2019. I had this song performed at his funeral. It was so befitting and a Tribute to him. I have always loved this song and Bette did it best! I have the CD. It has been less than 2 months since the funeral and it is now hard to listen to the song! I have never known this kind of pain even though I lost 5 brothers including one February 2019! Please people hug and love your children! Never forget to tell them you love them! Don’t let idiosyncrasies stand in your way! Tomorrow isn’t promised to any of us! We can’t get tomorrow back once they are gone!

But once the time comes, I feel like I can't do it because I'm going to be crying my eyeballs out. I was also thinking about singing some songs that I wrote that are about losing a loved one. It was necessary though. My mom is definitely the wind beneath and above my wings. I’m glad she’s still alive for me to cherish her. 💜
I've never thought to be listening to that song the way I'm doing right now. My mom left me one month ago. It's been hard to give my life a new meaning, 'cause I've always had a purpose in life when she was around. I had listened to this song even before she passed way. Sometimes I struggle with things in my life like "feeling like I'm not good enough" or feeling like "I've let everyone around me down". This song makes me think of the amazing people that help me out through the struggles that I go through in my life. My terrific family, friends, and best friends.
